¹Be ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.

¹Soyez mes imitateurs, comme je le suis moi-même de Christ.

¹לכו בעקבותי כאשר גם אני הלך בעקבות המשיח׃

²Now I praise you that ye remember me in all things, and hold fast the traditions, even as I delivered them to you.

²Je vous loue de ce que vous vous souvenez de moi à tous égards, et de ce que vous retenez mes instructions telles que je vous les ai données.

²ועל זאת אני משבח אתכם אחי כי זכרתם אתי בכל לשמר את הקבלות כאשר מסרתי לכם׃

³But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

³Je veux cependant que vous sachiez que Christ est le chef de tout homme, que l'homme est le chef de la femme, et que Dieu est le chef de Christ.

³אך חפץ אנכי שתדעו כי ראש כל איש המשיח וראש האשה האיש וראש המשיח הוא האלהים׃

⁴Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoreth his head.

⁴Tout homme qui prie ou qui prophétise, la tête couverte, déshonore son chef.

⁴כל איש אשר יתפלל או יתנבא וראשו מכסה מבזה הוא את ראשו׃

⁵But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonoreth her head; for it is one and the same thing as if she were shaven.

⁵Toute femme, au contraire, qui prie ou qui prophétise, la tête non voilée, déshonore son chef: c'est comme si elle était rasée.

⁵וכל אשה אשר תתפלל או תתנבא וראשה פרוע מבזה היא את ראשה יען בזה היא כמו מגלחה׃

⁶For if a woman is not veiled, let her also be shorn: but if it is a shame to a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be veiled.

⁶Car si une femme n'est pas voilée, qu'elle se coupe aussi les cheveux. Or, s'il est honteux pour une femme d'avoir les cheveux coupés ou d'être rasée, qu'elle se voile.

⁶כי האשה אם לא תתכסה גם תתגלח ואם בזיון הוא לאשה להכסם או להתגלח תתכסה׃

⁷For a man indeed ought not to have his head veiled, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

⁷L'homme ne doit pas se couvrir la tête, puisqu'il est l'image et la gloire de Dieu, tandis que la femme est la gloire de l'homme.

⁷והאיש איננו חיב לכסות את ראשו כי הוא צלם אלהים וכבודו אבל האשה היא כבוד האיש׃

⁸For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man:

⁸En effet, l'homme n'a pas été tiré de la femme, mais la femme a été tirée de l'homme;

⁸כי אין האיש מן האשה כי אם האשה מן האיש׃

⁹for neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man:

⁹et l'homme n'a pas été créé à cause de la femme, mais la femme a été créée à cause de l'homme.

⁹גם לא נברא האיש בעבור האשה כי אם האשה בעבור האיש׃

¹⁰for this cause ought the woman to have [a sign of] authority on her head, because of the angels.

¹⁰C'est pourquoi la femme, à cause des anges, doit avoir sur la tête une marque de l'autorité dont elle dépend.

¹⁰על כן האשה חיבת להיות לה כפה על ראשה בעבור המלאכים׃

¹¹Nevertheless, neither is the woman without the man, nor the man without the woman, in the Lord.

¹¹Toutefois, dans le Seigneur, la femme n'est point sans l'homme, ni l'homme sans la femme.

¹¹אבל אין האיש בלא אשה ואין האשה בלא איש באדון׃

¹²For as the woman is of the man, so is the man also by the woman; but all things are of God.

¹²Car, de même que la femme a été tirée de l'homme, de même l'homme existe par la femme, et tout vient de Dieu.

¹²כי כאשר האשה מן האיש כן גם האיש על ידי האשה וכל זאת מאלהים׃

¹³Judge ye in yourselves: is it seemly that a woman pray unto God unveiled?

¹³Jugez-en vous-mêmes: est-il convenable qu'une femme prie Dieu sans être voilée?

¹³שפטו נא בנפשכם הנאוה לאשה להתפלל אל האלהים בגלוי ראש׃

¹⁴Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a dishonor to him?

¹⁴La nature elle-même ne vous enseigne-t-elle pas que c'est une honte pour l'homme de porter de longs cheveux,

¹⁴או הלא גם הטבע בעצמו ילמד אתכם כי איש אשר יגדל פרע שער ראשו חרפה היא לו׃

¹⁵But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

¹⁵mais que c'est une gloire pour la femme d'en porter, parce que la chevelure lui a été donnée comme voile?

¹⁵אבל האשה כי תגדל שערה פאר הוא לה כי נתן לה השער לצניף׃

¹⁶But if any man seemeth to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

¹⁶Si quelqu'un se plaît à contester, nous n'avons pas cette habitude, non plus que les Eglises de Dieu.

¹⁶ואם יחשב איש לערער עלינו אין לנו מנהג כזה ולא לקהלות האלהים׃

¹⁷But in giving you this charge, I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better but for the worse.

¹⁷En donnant cet avertissement, ce que je ne loue point, c'est que vous vous assemblez, non pour devenir meilleurs, mais pour devenir pires.

¹⁷והנה בצותי את זאת לא אוכל לשבח אתכם על אשר תקהלו יחד לא להועיל כי אם לרעה׃

¹⁸For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and I partly believe it.

¹⁸Et d'abord, j'apprends que, lorsque vous vous réunissez en assemblée, il y a parmi vous des divisions, -et je le crois en partie,

¹⁸כי בראשונה שמעתי שיש מחלקות ביניכם כאשר תועדו בקהל ומקצתו אני מאמין׃

¹⁹For there must be also factions among you, that they that are approved may be made manifest among you.

¹⁹car il faut qu'il y ait aussi des sectes parmi vous, afin que ceux qui sont approuvés soient reconnus comme tels au milieu de vous. -

¹⁹כי אף צריכות כתות להיות ביניכם למען יודעו הנאמנים בכם׃

²⁰When therefore ye assemble yourselves together, it is not possible to eat the Lord's supper:

²⁰Lors donc que vous vous réunissez, ce n'est pas pour manger le repas du Seigneur;

²⁰ועתה כאשר תקהלו יחד אין זה לאכל סעודת האדון׃

²¹for in your eating each one taketh before [other] his own supper; and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

²¹car, quand on se met à table, chacun commence par prendre son propre repas, et l'un a faim, tandis que l'autre est ivre.

²¹כי כל אחד מקדים לקחת סעודתו בעת האכילה וזה ירעב וזה ישתכר׃

²²What, have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and put them to shame that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you? In this I praise you not.

²²N'avez-vous pas des maisons pour y manger et boire? Ou méprisez-vous l'Eglise de Dieu, et faites-vous honte à ceux qui n'ont rien? Que vous dirai-je? Vous louerai-je? En cela je ne vous loue point.

²²האין לכם בתים לאכל ולשתות בהם או התבוזו את קהל אלהים ותכלימו את אשר אין בידם מאומה מה אמר לכם העל זאת אשבח אתכם אינני משבח׃

²³For I received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was betrayed took bread;

²³Car j'ai reçu du Seigneur ce que je vous ai enseigné; c'est que le Seigneur Jésus, dans la nuit où il fut livré, prit du pain,

²³כי כה קבלתי אנכי מן האדון את אשר גם מסרתי לכם כי האדון ישוע בלילה ההוא אשר נמסר בו לקח את הלחם׃

²⁴and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, This is my body, which is for you: this do in remembrance of me.

²⁴et, après avoir rendu grâces, le rompit, et dit: Ceci est mon corps, qui est rompu pour vous; faites ceci en mémoire de moi.

²⁴ויברך ויבצע ויאמר קחו אכלו זה גופי הנבצע בעדכם עשו זאת לזכרוני׃

²⁵In like manner also the cup, after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do, as often as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.

²⁵De même, après avoir soupé, il prit la coupe, et dit: Cette coupe est la nouvelle alliance en mon sang; faites ceci en mémoire de moi toutes les fois que vous en boirez.

²⁵וכן גם את הכוס אחר הסעודה ויאמר הכוס הזאת היא הברית החדשה בדמי עשו זאת לזכרוני בכל עת שתשתו׃

²⁶For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye proclaim the Lord's death till he come.

²⁶Car toutes les fois que vous mangez ce pain et que vous buvez cette coupe, vous annoncez la mort du Seigneur, jusqu'à ce qu'il vienne.

²⁶כי בכל עת שתאכלו את הלחם הזה ותשתו את הכוס הזאת הזכר תזכירו את מות אדנינו עד כי יבוא׃

²⁷Wherefore whosoever shall eat the bread or drink the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

²⁷C'est pourquoi celui qui mangera le pain ou boira la coupe du Seigneur indignement, sera coupable envers le corps et le sang du Seigneur.

²⁷לכן מי שיאכל מן הלחם הזה או ישתה מכוס האדון שלא כראוי יאשם לגוף אדנינו ולדמו׃

²⁸But let a man prove himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.

²⁸Que chacun donc s'éprouve soi-même, et qu'ainsi il mange du pain et boive de la coupe;

²⁸יבחן האיש את נפשו ואז יאכל מן הלחם וישתה מן הכוס׃

²⁹For he that eateth and drinketh, eateth and drinketh judgment unto himself, if he discern not the body.

²⁹car celui qui mange et boit sans discerner le corps du Seigneur, mange et boit un jugement contre lui-même.

²⁹כי האכל והשתה שלא כראוי אכל ושתה דין לנפשו יען אשר לא הפלה את גוף האדון׃

³⁰For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.

³⁰C'est pour cela qu'il y a parmi vous beaucoup d'infirmes et de malades, et qu'un grand nombre sont morts.

³⁰בעבור זאת יש בכם חולים וחלשים רבים והרבה ישנו המות׃

³¹But if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged.

³¹Si nous nous jugions nous-mêmes, nous ne serions pas jugés.

³¹כי אם נבחן את נפשנו לא נהיה נדונים׃

³²But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

³²Mais quand nous sommes jugés, nous sommes châtiés par le Seigneur, afin que nous ne soyons pas condamnés avec le monde.

³²וכאשר נדון נוסר על יד האדון למען לא נחיב עם העולם׃

³³Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, wait one for another.

³³Ainsi, mes frères, lorsque vous vous réunissez pour le repas, attendez-vous les uns les autres.

³³על כן אחי בהקהלכם יחד לאכל תחכו איש אל רעהו׃

³⁴If any man is hungry, let him eat at home; that your coming together be not unto judgment. And the rest will I set in order whensoever I come.

³⁴Si quelqu'un a faim, qu'il mange chez lui, afin que vous ne vous réunissiez pas pour attirer un jugement sur vous. Je réglerai les autres choses quand je serai arrivé.

³⁴וכי ירעב איש יאכל בביתו פן תקהלו לאשמה ויתר הדברים אתקן בבאי׃
