¹And I, brethren, when I came unto you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.

¹Pour moi, frères, lorsque je suis allé chez vous, ce n'est pas avec une supériorité de langage ou de sagesse que je suis allé vous annoncer le témoignage de Dieu.

¹וגם אנכי בבאי אליכם אחי לא באתי בגאות הדבור והחכמה בהגידי לכם את עדות האלהים׃

²For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

²Car je n'ai pas eu la pensée de savoir parmi vous autre chose que Jésus-Christ, et Jésus-Christ crucifié.

²כי לא חשבתי לדעת בתוככם דבר בלתי אם ישוע המשיח והוא הנצלב׃

³And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

³Moi-même j'étais auprès de vous dans un état de faiblesse, de crainte, et de grand tremblement;

³ואהי אצלכם בחלשה וביראה ובחלחלה רבה׃

⁴And my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

⁴et ma parole et ma prédication ne reposaient pas sur les discours persuasifs de la sagesse, mais sur une démonstration d'Esprit et de puissance,

⁴ודברי וקריאתי לא לפתות באמרי חכמת בני אדם כי אם בתוכחת הרוח והגבורה׃

⁵that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

⁵afin que votre foi fût fondée, non sur la sagesse des hommes, mais sur la puissance de Dieu.

⁵למען אשר לא תהיה אמונתכם בחכמת בני אדם כי אם בגבורת אלהים׃

⁶We speak wisdom, however, among them that are fullgrown: yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nought:

⁶Cependant, c'est une sagesse que nous prêchons parmi les parfaits, sagesse qui n'est pas de ce siècle, ni des chefs de ce siècle, qui vont être anéantis;

⁶אכן חכמה נדבר בין השלמים לא חכמת העולם הזה גם לא של שרי העולם הזה אשר יאבדו׃

⁷but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, [even] the [wisdom] that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds unto our glory:

⁷nous prêchons la sagesse de Dieu, mystérieuse et cachée, que Dieu, avant les siècles, avait destinée pour notre gloire,

⁷כי אם בסוד נדבר חכמת האלהים הנסתרה אשר האלהים יעדה לכבודנו לפני ימי העולם׃

⁸which none of the rulers of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory:

⁸sagesse qu'aucun des chefs de ce siècle n'a connue, car, s'ils l'eussent connue, ils n'auraient pas crucifié le Seigneur de gloire.

⁸אשר לא ידעה איש משרי העולם הזה כי לו ידעוה לא צלבו את אדון הכבוד׃

⁹but as it is written, Things which eye saw not, and ear heard not, And [which] entered not into the heart of man, Whatsoever things God prepared for them that love him.

⁹Mais, comme il est écrit, ce sont des choses que l'oeil n'a point vues, que l'oreille n'a point entendues, et qui ne sont point montées au coeur de l'homme, des choses que Dieu a préparées pour ceux qui l'aiment.

⁹אלא ככתוב אשר עין לא ראתה ואזן לא שמעה ולא עלה על לב אנוש את אשר הכין האלהים לאהביו׃

¹⁰But unto us God revealed [them] through the Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

¹⁰Dieu nous les a révélées par l'Esprit. Car l'Esprit sonde tout, même les profondeurs de Dieu.

¹⁰ולנו גלה האלהים ברוחו כי הרוח חוקר את הכל גם את מעמקי האלהים׃

¹¹For who among men knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of God.

¹¹Lequel des hommes, en effet, connaît les choses de l'homme, si ce n'est l'esprit de l'homme qui est en lui? De même, personne ne connaît les choses de Dieu, si ce n'est l'Esprit de Dieu.

¹¹כי מי הוא בבני אדם הידע את אשר באדם בלתי אם רוח האדם אשר בקרבו כן גם לא ידע איש את אשר באלהים בלתי אם רוח האלהים׃

¹²But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God.

¹²Or nous, nous n'avons pas reçu l'esprit du monde, mais l'Esprit qui vient de Dieu, afin que nous connaissions les choses que Dieu nous a données par sa grâce.

¹²ואנחנו לא קבלנו את רוח העולם כי אם הרוח מאת האלהים למען נדע את אשר נתן לנו מאת האלהים בחסדו׃

¹³Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth; combining spiritual things with spiritual [words].

¹³Et nous en parlons, non avec des discours qu'enseigne la sagesse humaine, mais avec ceux qu'enseigne l'Esprit, employant un langage spirituel pour les choses spirituelles.

¹³ואת זאת נדבר לא בדברים אשר תלמדם חכמת בני אדם כי אם בדברים אשר רוח הקדש תלמדם ונבאר דברים רוחניים על פי הרוח׃

¹⁴Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged.

¹⁴Mais l'homme animal ne reçoit pas les choses de l'Esprit de Dieu, car elles sont une folie pour lui, et il ne peut les connaître, parce que c'est spirituellement qu'on en juge.

¹⁴הן האדם הנפשי איננו מקבל את דברי רוח אלהים כי המה סכלות לו ולא יוכל להבינם באשר המה נדונים בדרך הרוח׃

¹⁵But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, and he himself is judged of no man.

¹⁵L'homme spirituel, au contraire, juge de tout, et il n'est lui-même jugé par personne.

¹⁵אבל האדם הרוחני ידין את הכל ואותו לא ידין איש׃

¹⁶For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

¹⁶Car Qui a connu la pensée du Seigneur, Pour l'instruire? Or nous, nous avons la pensée de Christ.

¹⁶כי מי תכן את רוח יהוה ומי יודיענו ואנחנו הנה יש לנו רוח המשיח׃
