¹Let a man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

¹Ainsi, qu'on nous regarde comme des serviteurs de Christ, et des dispensateurs des mystères de Dieu.

¹כן יחשב איש אתנו כמשרתי המשיח וסכני רזי אל׃

²Here, moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

²Du reste, ce qu'on demande des dispensateurs, c'est que chacun soit trouvé fidèle.

²הנה סוף דבר שלא יבקש מן הסכנים כי אם להמצא נאמן׃

³But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.

³Pour moi, il m'importe fort peu d'être jugé par vous, ou par un tribunal humain. Je ne me juge pas non plus moi-même,

³ואני נקלה היא בעיני כי אתם דנים אתי או יום דין של בני אדם גם אני את נפשי לא אדין׃

⁴For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

⁴car je ne me sens coupable de rien; mais ce n'est pas pour cela que je suis justifié. Celui qui me juge, c'est le Seigneur.

⁴כי אינני יודע בנפשי רע ובכל זאת לא אצדק כי הדן אתי הוא יהוה׃

⁵Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.

⁵C'est pourquoi ne jugez de rien avant le temps, jusqu'à ce que vienne le Seigneur, qui mettra en lumière ce qui est caché dans les ténèbres, et qui manifestera les desseins des coeurs. Alors chacun recevra de Dieu la louange qui lui sera due.

⁵על כן אל תשפטו שפוט לפני העת עד כי יבוא האדון אשר גם יוציא לאור את תעלמות החשך ויגלה את עצת הלבבות ואז תהיה תהלה לכל איש מאת האלהים׃

⁶Now these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes; that in us ye might learn not [to go] beyond the things which are written; that no one of you be puffed up for the one against the other.

⁶C'est à cause de vous, frères, que j'ai fait de ces choses une application à ma personne et à celle d'Apollos, afin que vous appreniez en nos personnes à ne pas aller au delà de ce qui est écrit, et que nul de vous ne conçoive de l'orgueil en faveur de l'un contre l'autre.

⁶ואת זאת אחי הסבתי על עצמי ועל אפולוס בעבורכם למען תלמדו בנו שלא יתחכם איש יותר ממה שכתוב פן תתגאו איש בשם איש לנגד רעהו׃

⁷For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? but if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received it?

⁷Car qui est-ce qui te distingue? Qu'as-tu que tu n'aies reçu? Et si tu l'as reçu, pourquoi te glorifies-tu, comme si tu ne l'avais pas reçu?

⁷כי מי הפליא אותך ומה בידך אשר לא קבלתו ואם קבלתו למה תתהלל כאיש אשר לא קבל׃

⁸Already are ye filled, already ye are become rich, ye have come to reign without us: yea and I would that ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.

⁸Déjà vous êtes rassasiés, déjà vous êtes riches, sans nous vous avez commencé à régner. Et puissiez-vous régner en effet, afin que nous aussi nous régnions avec vous!

⁸הן כבר שבעתם כבר עשרתם ובלעדינו מלכתם ולו מלכתם למען נמלך אתכם גם אנחנו׃

⁹For, I think, God hath set forth us the apostles last of all, as men doomed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, both to angels and men.

⁹Car Dieu, ce me semble, a fait de nous, apôtres, les derniers des hommes, des condamnés à mort en quelque sorte, puisque nous avons été en spectacle au monde, aux anges et aux hommes.

⁹כי אחשב שהאלהים הציג אתנו השליחים שפלי השפלים כבני תמותה כי היינו לראוה לעולם גם למלאכים גם לבני אדם׃

¹⁰We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor.

¹⁰Nous sommes fous à cause de Christ; mais vous, vous êtes sages en Christ; nous sommes faibles, mais vous êtes forts. Vous êtes honorés, et nous sommes méprisés!

¹⁰אנחנו סכלים למען המשיח ואתם חכמים במשיח אנחנו חלשים ואתם גבורים אתם נכבדים ואנחנו נקלים׃

¹¹Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling-place;

¹¹Jusqu'à cette heure, nous souffrons la faim, la soif, la nudité; nous sommes maltraités, errants çà et là;

¹¹ועד השעה הזאת הננו רעבים גם צמאים וערמים ומכים באגרף ואין מנוח לנו׃

¹²and we toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;

¹²nous nous fatiguons à travailler de nos propres mains; injuriés, nous bénissons; persécutés, nous supportons;

¹²ויגעים אנחנו בעמל ידינו קללונו ונברך חרפונו ונסבל׃

¹³being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things, even until now.

¹³calomniés, nous parlons avec bonté; nous sommes devenus comme les balayures du monde, le rebut de tous, jusqu'à maintenant.

¹³גדפו אתנו ותנחנן ונהי כגללי העולם ולסחי לכלם עד עתה׃

¹⁴I write not these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children.

¹⁴Ce n'est pas pour vous faire honte que j'écris ces choses; mais je vous avertis comme mes enfants bien-aimés.

¹⁴ולא לביש אתכם אני כתב הדברים האלה כי אם מזהיר אתכם כבני האהובים׃

¹⁵For though ye have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet [have ye] not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I begat you through the gospel.

¹⁵Car, quand vous auriez dix mille maîtres en Christ, vous n'avez cependant pas plusieurs pères, puisque c'est moi qui vous ai engendrés en Jésus-Christ par l'Evangile.

¹⁵כי גם אם היו לכם רבבות אמנים במשיח אין לכם אבות רבים כי אנכי הולדתי אתכם בישוע המשיח על ידי הבשורה׃

¹⁶I beseech you therefore, be ye imitators of me.

¹⁶Je vous en conjure donc, soyez mes imitateurs.

¹⁶על כן אני מבקש מכם ללכת בעקבותי׃

¹⁷For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put you in remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every church.

¹⁷Pour cela je vous ai envoyé Timothée, qui est mon enfant bien-aimé et fidèle dans le Seigneur; il vous rappellera quelles sont mes voies en Christ, quelle est la manière dont j'enseigne partout dans toutes les Eglises.

¹⁷ובעבור זאת שלחתי אליכם את טימותיוס בני האהוב והנאמן באדון והוא יזכיר לכם את דרכי במשיח כאשר מלמד אנכי בכל מקום בכל קהלה וקהלה׃

¹⁸Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you.

¹⁸Quelques-uns se sont enflés d'orgueil, comme si je ne devais pas aller chez vous.

¹⁸הן יש מתנשאים כאלו לא אבוא אליכם׃

¹⁹But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will; and I will know, not the word of them that are puffed up, but the power.

¹⁹Mais j'irai bientôt chez vous, si c'est la volonté du Seigneur, et je connaîtrai, non les paroles, mais la puissance de ceux qui se sont enflés.

¹⁹אבל בוא אבוא אליכם בזמן קרוב אם ירצה האדון ואדעה לא את דברי המתרוממים כי אם את גבורתם׃

²⁰For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

²⁰Car le royaume de Dieu ne consiste pas en paroles, mais en puissance.

²⁰כי מלכות האלהים איננה בדבר שפתים כי אם בגבורה׃

²¹What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?

²¹Que voulez-vous? Que j'aille chez vous avec une verge, ou avec amour et dans un esprit de douceur?

²¹ומה תחפצו הבוא אבוא אליכם בשבט או באהבה וברוח ענוה׃
