1Jotham was twenty and five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok.
1Jotham avait vingt-cinq ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Jeruscha, fille de Tsadok.
1בן עשרים וחמש שנה יותם במלכו ושש עשרה שנה מלך בירושלם ושם אמו ירושה בת צדוק׃
2And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his father Uzziah had done: howbeit he entered not into the temple of Jehovah. And the people did yet corruptly.
2Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Eternel, entièrement comme avait fait Ozias, son père. Seulement, il n'entra point dans le temple de l'Eternel. Toutefois, le peuple se corrompait encore.
2ויעש הישר בעיני יהוה ככל אשר עשה עזיהו אביו רק לא בא אל היכל יהוה ועוד העם משחיתים׃
3He built the upper gate of the house of Jehovah, and on the wall of Ophel he built much.
3Jotham bâtit la porte supérieure de la maison de l'Eternel, et il fit beaucoup de constructions sur les murs de la colline.
3הוא בנה את שער בית יהוה העליון ובחומת העפל בנה לרב׃
4Moreover he built cities in the hill-country of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.
4Il bâtit des villes dans la montagne de Juda, et des châteaux et des tours dans les bois.
4וערים בנה בהר יהודה ובחרשים בנה בירניות ומגדלים׃
5He fought also with the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against them. And the children of Ammon gave him the same year a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of Ammon render unto him, in the second year also, and in the third.
5Il fut en guerre avec le roi des fils d'Ammon, et il l'emporta sur eux. Les fils d'Ammon lui donnèrent cette année-là cent talents d'argent, dix mille cors de froment, et dix mille d'orge; et ils lui en payèrent autant la seconde année et la troisième.
5והוא נלחם עם מלך בני עמון ויחזק עליהם ויתנו לו בני עמון בשנה ההיא מאה ככר כסף ועשרת אלפים כרים חטים ושעורים עשרת אלפים זאת השיבו לו בני עמון ובשנה השנית והשלשית׃
6So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before Jehovah his God.
6Jotham devint puissant, parce qu'il affermit ses voies devant l'Eternel, son Dieu.
6ויתחזק יותם כי הכין דרכיו לפני יהוה אלהיו׃
7Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
7Le reste des actions de Jotham, toutes ses guerres, et tout ce qu'il a fait, cela est écrit dans le livre des rois d'Israël et de Juda.
7ויתר דברי יותם וכל מלחמתיו ודרכיו הנם כתובים על ספר מלכי ישראל ויהודה׃
8He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

8בן עשרים וחמש שנה היה במלכו ושש עשרה שנה מלך בירושלם׃
9And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
9Jotham se coucha avec ses pères, et on l'enterra dans la ville de David. Et Achaz, son fils, régna à sa place.
9וישכב יותם עם אבתיו ויקברו אתו בעיר דויד וימלך אחז בנו תחתיו׃
