1In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

1בשנת עשרים ושבע שנה לירבעם מלך ישראל מלך עזריה בן אמציה מלך יהודה׃
2Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.
2Il avait seize ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna cinquante-deux ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Jecolia, de Jérusalem.
2בן שש עשרה שנה היה במלכו וחמשים ושתים שנה מלך בירושלם ושם אמו יכליהו מירושלם׃
3And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.
3Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Eternel, entièrement comme avait fait Amatsia, son père.
3ויעש הישר בעיני יהוה ככל אשר עשה אמציהו אביו׃
4Howbeit the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
4Seulement, les hauts lieux ne disparurent point; le peuple offrait encore des sacrifices et des parfums sur les hauts lieux.
4רק הבמות לא סרו עוד העם מזבחים ומקטרים בבמות׃
5And Jehovah smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king's son was over the household, judging the people of the land.
5L'Eternel frappa le roi, qui fut lépreux jusqu'au jour de sa mort et demeura dans une maison écartée. Et Jotham, fils du roi, était à la tête de la maison et jugeait le peuple du pays.
5וינגע יהוה את המלך ויהי מצרע עד יום מתו וישב בבית החפשית ויותם בן המלך על הבית שפט את עם הארץ׃

7And Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
7Azaria se coucha avec ses pères, et on l'enterra avec ses pères dans la ville de David. Et Jotham, son fils, régna à sa place.
7וישכב עזריה עם אבתיו ויקברו אתו עם אבתיו בעיר דוד וימלך יותם בנו תחתיו׃
8In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.
8La trente-huitième année d'Azaria, roi de Juda, Zacharie, fils de Jéroboam, régna sur Israël à Samarie. Il régna six mois.
8בשנת שלשים ושמנה שנה לעזריהו מלך יהודה מלך זכריהו בן ירבעם על ישראל בשמרון ששה חדשים׃
9And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.
9Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Eternel, comme avaient fait ses pères; il ne se détourna point des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui avait fait pécher Israël.
9ויעש הרע בעיני יהוה כאשר עשו אבתיו לא סר מחטאות ירבעם בן נבט אשר החטיא את ישראל׃
10And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
10Schallum, fils de Jabesch, conspira contre lui, le frappa devant le peuple, et le fit mourir; et il régna à sa place.
10ויקשר עליו שלם בן יבש ויכהו קבל עם וימיתהו וימלך תחתיו׃

12This was the word of Jehovah which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons to the fourth generation shall sit upon the throne of Israel. And so it came to pass.
12Ainsi s'accomplit ce que l'Eternel avait déclaré à Jéhu, en disant: Tes fils jusqu'à la quatrième génération seront assis sur le trône d'Israël.
12הוא דבר יהוה אשר דבר אל יהוא לאמר בני רביעים ישבו לך על כסא ישראל ויהי כן׃
13Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned the space of a month in Samaria.
13Schallum, fils de Jabesch, régna la trente-neuvième année d'Ozias, roi de Juda. Il régna pendant un mois à Samarie.
13שלום בן יביש מלך בשנת שלשים ותשע שנה לעזיה מלך יהודה וימלך ירח ימים בשמרון׃
14And Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
14Menahem, fils de Gadi, monta de Thirtsa et vint à Samarie, frappa dans Samarie Schallum, fils de Jabesch, et le fit mourir; et il régna à sa place.
14ויעל מנחם בן גדי מתרצה ויבא שמרון ויך את שלום בן יביש בשמרון וימיתהו וימלך תחתיו׃

16Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the borders thereof, from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.
16Alors Menahem frappa Thiphsach et tous ceux qui y étaient, avec son territoire depuis Thirtsa; il la frappa parce qu'elle n'avait pas ouvert ses portes, et il fendit le ventre de toutes les femmes enceintes.
16אז יכה מנחם את תפסח ואת כל אשר בה ואת גבוליה מתרצה כי לא פתח ויך את כל ההרותיה בקע׃
17In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, [and reigned] ten years in Samaria.
17La trente-neuvième année d'Azaria, roi de Juda, Menahem, fils de Gadi, régna sur Israël. Il régna dix ans à Samarie.
17בשנת שלשים ותשע שנה לעזריה מלך יהודה מלך מנחם בן גדי על ישראל עשר שנים בשמרון׃
18And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.
18Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Eternel; il ne se détourna point, tant qu'il vécut, des péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui avait fait pécher Israël.
18ויעש הרע בעיני יהוה לא סר מעל חטאות ירבעם בן נבט אשר החטיא את ישראל כל ימיו׃
19There came against the land Pul the king of Assyria; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.
19Pul, roi d'Assyrie, vint dans le pays; et Menahem donna à Pul mille talents d'argent, pour qu'il l'aidât à affermir la royauté entre ses mains.
19בא פול מלך אשור על הארץ ויתן מנחם לפול אלף ככר כסף להיות ידיו אתו להחזיק הממלכה בידו׃
20And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.
20Menahem leva cet argent sur tous ceux d'Israël qui avaient de la richesse, afin de le donner au roi d'Assyrie; il les taxa chacun à cinquante sicles d'argent. Le roi d'Assyrie s'en retourna, et ne s'arrêta pas alors dans le pays.
20ויצא מנחם את הכסף על ישראל על כל גבורי החיל לתת למלך אשור חמשים שקלים כסף לאיש אחד וישב מלך אשור ולא עמד שם בארץ׃

22And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.

23In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] two years.
23La cinquantième année d'Azaria, roi de Juda, Pekachia, fils de Menahem, régna sur Israël à Samarie. Il régna deux ans.
23בשנת חמשים שנה לעזריה מלך יהודה מלך פקחיה בן מנחם על ישראל בשמרון שנתים׃
24And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.

25And Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the castle of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites: and he slew him, and reigned in his stead.
25Pékach, fils de Remalia, son officier, conspira contre lui; il le frappa à Samarie, dans le palais de la maison du roi, de même qu'Argob et Arié; il avait avec lui cinquante hommes d'entre les fils des Galaadites. Il fit ainsi mourir Pekachia, et il régna à sa place.
25ויקשר עליו פקח בן רמליהו שלישו ויכהו בשמרון בארמון בית מלך את ארגב ואת האריה ועמו חמשים איש מבני גלעדים וימיתהו וימלך תחתיו׃

27In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] twenty years.
27La cinquante-deuxième année d'Azaria, roi de Juda, Pékach, fils de Remalia, régna sur Israël à Samarie. Il régna vingt ans.
27בשנת חמשים ושתים שנה לעזריה מלך יהודה מלך פקח בן רמליהו על ישראל בשמרון עשרים שנה׃
28And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.

29In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maacah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria.
29Du temps de Pékach, roi d'Israël, Tiglath-Piléser, roi d'Assyrie, vint et prit Ijjon, Abel-Beth-Maaca, Janoach, Kédesch, Hatsor, Galaad et la Galilée, tout le pays de Nephthali, et il emmena captifs les habitants en Assyrie.
29בימי פקח מלך ישראל בא תגלת פלאסר מלך אשור ויקח את עיון ואת אבל בית מעכה ואת ינוח ואת קדש ואת חצור ואת הגלעד ואת הגלילה כל ארץ נפתלי ויגלם אשורה׃
30And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.
30Osée, fils d'Ela, forma une conspiration contre Pékach, fils de Remalia, le frappa et le fit mourir; et il régna à sa place, la vingtième année de Jotham, fils d'Ozias.

32In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.
32La seconde année de Pékach, fils de Remalia, roi d'Israël, Jotham, fils d'Ozias, roi de Juda, régna.
32בשנת שתים לפקח בן רמליהו מלך ישראל מלך יותם בן עזיהו מלך יהודה׃
33Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok.
33Il avait vingt-cinq ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Jeruscha, fille de Tsadok.
33בן עשרים וחמש שנה היה במלכו ושש עשרה שנה מלך בירושלם ושם אמו ירושא בת צדוק׃
34And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah; he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.
34Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Eternel; il agit entièrement comme avait agi Ozias, son père.
34ויעש הישר בעיני יהוה ככל אשר עשה עזיהו אביו עשה׃
35Howbeit the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. He built the upper gate of the house of Jehovah.
35Seulement, les hauts lieux ne disparurent point; le peuple offrait encore des sacrifices et des parfums sur les hauts lieux. Jotham bâtit la porte supérieure de la maison de l'Eternel.

37In those days Jehovah began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.
37Dans ce temps-là, l'Eternel commença à envoyer contre Juda Retsin, roi de Syrie, et Pékach, fils de Remalia.
37בימים ההם החל יהוה להשליח ביהודה רצין מלך ארם ואת פקח בן רמליהו׃
38And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
38Jotham se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David, son père. Et Achaz, son fils, régna à sa place.
