1And David spake unto Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
1David adressa à l'Eternel les paroles de ce cantique, lorsque l'Eternel l'eut délivré de la main de tous ses ennemis et de la main de Saül.
1וידבר דוד ליהוה את דברי השירה הזאת ביום הציל יהוה אתו מכף כל איביו ומכף שאול׃
2and he said, Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;
2Il dit: L'Eternel est mon rocher, ma forteresse, mon libérateur.
2ויאמר יהוה סלעי ומצדתי ומפלטי לי׃
3God, my rock, in him will I take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge; My saviour, thou savest me from violence.
3Dieu est mon rocher, où je trouve un abri, Mon bouclier et la force qui me sauve, Ma haute retraite et mon refuge. O mon Sauveur! tu me garantis de la violence.
3אלהי צורי אחסה בו מגני וקרן ישעי משגבי ומנוסי משעי מחמס תשעני׃
4I will call upon Jehovah, who is worthy to be praised: So shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4Je m'écrie: Loué soit l'Eternel! Et je suis délivré de mes ennemis.
4מהלל אקרא יהוה ומאיבי אושע׃
5For the waves of death compassed me; The floods of ungodliness made me afraid:
5Car les flots de la mort m'avaient environné, Les torrents de la destruction m'avaient épouvanté;
5כי אפפני משברי מות נחלי בליעל יבעתני׃
6The cords of Sheol were round about me; The snares of death came upon me.
6Les liens du sépulcre m'avaient entouré, Les filets de la mort m'avaient surpris.
6חבלי שאול סבני קדמני מקשי מות׃
7In my distress I called upon Jehovah; Yea, I called unto my God: And he heard my voice out of his temple, And my cry [came] into his ears.
7Dans ma détresse, j'ai invoqué l'Eternel, J'ai invoqué mon Dieu; De son palais, il a entendu ma voix, Et mon cri est parvenu à ses oreilles.
7בצר לי אקרא יהוה ואל אלהי אקרא וישמע מהיכלו קולי ושועתי באזניו׃
8Then the earth shook and trembled, The foundations of heaven quaked And were shaken, because he was wroth.
8La terre fut ébranlée et trembla, Les fondements des cieux frémirent, Et ils furent ébranlés, parce qu'il était irrité.
8ותגעש ותרעש הארץ מוסדות השמים ירגזו ויתגעשו כי חרה לו׃
9There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, And fire out of his mouth devoured: Coals were kindled by it.
9Il s'élevait de la fumée dans ses narines, Et un feu dévorant sortait de sa bouche: Il en jaillissait des charbons embrasés.
9עלה עשן באפו ואש מפיו תאכל גחלים בערו ממנו׃
10He bowed the heavens also, and came down; And thick darkness was under his feet.
10Il abaissa les cieux, et il descendit: Il y avait une épaisse nuée sous ses pieds.
10ויט שמים וירד וערפל תחת רגליו׃
11And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly; Yea, he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
11Il était monté sur un chérubin, et il volait, Il paraissait sur les ailes du vent.
11וירכב על כרוב ויעף וירא על כנפי רוח׃
12And he made darkness pavilions round about him, Gathering of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
12Il faisait des ténèbres une tente autour de lui, Il était enveloppé d'amas d'eaux et de sombres nuages.
12וישת חשך סביבתיו סכות חשרת מים עבי שחקים׃
13At the brightness before him Coals of fire were kindled.
13De la splendeur qui le précédait S'élançaient des charbons de feu.
13מנגה נגדו בערו גחלי אש׃
14Jehovah thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered his voice.
14L'Eternel tonna des cieux, Le Très-Haut fit retentir sa voix;
14ירעם מן שמים יהוה ועליון יתן קולו׃
15And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; Lightning, and discomfited them.
15Il lança des flèches et dispersa mes ennemis, La foudre, et les mit en déroute.
15וישלח חצים ויפיצם ברק ויהמם׃
16Then the channels of the sea appeared, The foundations of the world were laid bare, By the rebuke of Jehovah, At the blast of the breath of his nostrils.
16Le lit de la mer apparut, Les fondements du monde furent découverts, Par la menace de l'Eternel, Par le bruit du souffle de ses narines.
16ויראו אפקי ים יגלו מסדות תבל בגערת יהוה מנשמת רוח אפו׃
17He sent from on high, he took me; He drew me out of many waters;
17Il étendit sa main d'en haut, il me saisit, Il me retira des grandes eaux;
17ישלח ממרום יקחני ימשני ממים רבים׃
18He delivered me from my strong enemy, From them that hated me; for they were too mighty for me.
18Il me délivra de mon adversaire puissant, De mes ennemis qui étaient plus forts que moi.
18יצילני מאיבי עז משנאי כי אמצו ממני׃
19They came upon me in the day of my calamity; But Jehovah was my stay.
19Ils m'avaient surpris au jour de ma détresse, Mais l'Eternel fut mon appui.
19יקדמני ביום אידי ויהי יהוה משען לי׃
20He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because he delighted in me.
20Il m'a mis au large, Il m'a sauvé, parce qu'il m'aime.
20ויצא למרחב אתי יחלצני כי חפץ בי׃
21Jehovah rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
21L'Eternel m'a traité selon ma droiture, Il m'a rendu selon la pureté de mes mains;
21יגמלני יהוה כצדקתי כבר ידי ישיב לי׃
22For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, And have not wickedly departed from my God.
22Car j'ai observé les voies de l'Eternel, Et je n'ai point été coupable envers mon Dieu.
22כי שמרתי דרכי יהוה ולא רשעתי מאלהי׃
23For all his ordinances were before me; And as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.
23Toutes ses ordonnances ont été devant moi, Et je ne me suis point écarté de ses lois.
23כי כל משפטו לנגדי וחקתיו לא אסור ממנה׃
24I was also perfect toward him; And I kept myself from mine iniquity.
24J'ai été sans reproche envers lui, Et je me suis tenu en garde contre mon iniquité.
24ואהיה תמים לו ואשתמרה מעוני׃
25Therefore hath Jehovah recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to my cleanness in his eyesight.
25Aussi l'Eternel m'a rendu selon ma droiture, Selon ma pureté devant ses yeux.
25וישב יהוה לי כצדקתי כברי לנגד עיניו׃
26With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful; With the perfect man thou wilt show thyself perfect;
26Avec celui qui est bon tu te montres bon, Avec l'homme droit tu agis selon la droiture,
26עם חסיד תתחסד עם גבור תמים תתמם׃
27With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; And with the perverse thou wilt show thyself froward.
27Avec celui qui est pur tu te montres pur, Et avec le pervers tu agis selon sa perversité.
27עם נבר תתבר ועם עקש תתפל׃
28And the afflicted people thou wilt save; But thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
28Tu sauves le peuple qui s'humilie, Et de ton regard, tu abaisses les orgueilleux.
28ואת עם עני תושיע ועיניך על רמים תשפיל׃
29For thou art my lamp, O Jehovah; And Jehovah will lighten my darkness.
29Oui, tu es ma lumière, ô Eternel! L'Eternel éclaire mes ténèbres.
29כי אתה נירי יהוה ויהוה יגיה חשכי׃
30For by thee I run upon a troop; By my God do I leap over a wall.
30Avec toi je me précipite sur une troupe en armes, Avec mon Dieu je franchis une muraille.
30כי בכה ארוץ גדוד באלהי אדלג שור׃
31As for God, his way is perfect: The word of Jehovah is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in him.
31Les voies de Dieu sont parfaites, La parole de l'Eternel est éprouvée; Il est un bouclier pour tous ceux qui se confient en lui.
31האל תמים דרכו אמרת יהוה צרופה מגן הוא לכל החסים בו׃
32For who is God, save Jehovah? And who is a rock, save our God?
32Car qui est Dieu, si ce n'est l'Eternel? Et qui est un rocher, si ce n'est notre Dieu?
32כי מי אל מבלעדי יהוה ומי צור מבלעדי אלהינו׃
33God is my strong fortress; And he guideth the perfect in his way.
33C'est Dieu qui est ma puissante forteresse, Et qui me conduit dans la voie droite.
33האל מעוזי חיל ויתר תמים דרכו׃
34He maketh his feet like hinds' [feet], And setteth me upon my high places.
34Il rend mes pieds semblables à ceux des biches, Et il me place sur mes lieux élevés.
34משוה רגליו כאילות ועל במותי יעמדני׃
35He teacheth my hands to war, So that mine arms do bend a bow of brass.
35Il exerce mes mains au combat, Et mes bras tendent l'arc d'airain.
35מלמד ידי למלחמה ונחת קשת נחושה זרעתי׃
36Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation; And thy gentleness hath made me great.
36Tu me donnes le bouclier de ton salut, Et je deviens grand par ta bonté.
36ותתן לי מגן ישעך וענתך תרבני׃
37Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; And my feet have not slipped.
37Tu élargis le chemin sous mes pas, Et mes pieds ne chancellent point.
37תרחיב צעדי תחתני ולא מעדו קרסלי׃
38I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; Neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
38Je poursuis mes ennemis, et je les détruis; Je ne reviens pas avant de les avoir anéantis.
38ארדפה איבי ואשמידם ולא אשוב עד כלותם׃
39And I have consumed them, and smitten them through, so that they cannot arise: Yea, they are fallen under my feet.
39Je les anéantis, je les brise, et ils ne se relèvent plus; Ils tombent sous mes pieds.
39ואכלם ואמחצם ולא יקומון ויפלו תחת רגלי׃
40For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle; Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
40Tu me ceins de force pour le combat, Tu fais plier sous moi mes adversaires.
40ותזרני חיל למלחמה תכריע קמי תחתני׃
41Thou hast also made mine enemies turn their backs unto me, That I might cut off them that hate me.
41Tu fais tourner le dos à mes ennemis devant moi, Et j'extermine ceux qui me haïssent.
41ואיבי תתה לי ערף משנאי ואצמיתם׃
42They looked, but there was none to save; Even unto Jehovah, but he answered them not.
42Ils regardent autour d'eux, et personne pour les sauver! Ils crient à l'Eternel, et il ne leur répond pas!
42ישעו ואין משיע אל יהוה ולא ענם׃
43Then did I beat them small as the dust of the earth, I did crush them as the mire of the streets, and did spread them abroad.
43Je les broie comme la poussière de la terre, Je les écrase, je les foule, comme la boue des rues.
43ואשחקם כעפר ארץ כטיט חוצות אדקם ארקעם׃
44Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people; Thou hast kept me to be the head of the nations: A people whom I have not known shall serve me.
44Tu me délivres des dissensions de mon peuple; Tu me conserves pour chef des nations; Un peuple que je ne connaissais pas m'est asservi.
44ותפלטני מריבי עמי תשמרני לראש גוים עם לא ידעתי יעבדני׃
45The foreigners shall submit themselves unto me: As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me.
45Les fils de l'étranger me flattent, Ils m'obéissent au premier ordre.
45בני נכר יתכחשו לי לשמוע אזן ישמעו לי׃
46The foreigners shall fade away, And shall come trembling out of their close places.
46Les fils de l'étranger sont en défaillance, Ils tremblent hors de leurs forteresses.
46בני נכר יבלו ויחגרו ממסגרותם׃
47Jehovah liveth; And blessed be my rock; And exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,
47Vive l'Eternel, et béni soit mon rocher! Que Dieu, le rocher de mon salut, soit exalté,
47חי יהוה וברוך צורי וירם אלהי צור ישעי׃
48Even the God that executeth vengeance for me, And that bringeth down peoples under me,
48Le Dieu qui est mon vengeur, Qui m'assujettit les peuples,
48האל הנתן נקמת לי ומוריד עמים תחתני׃
49And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: Yea, thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me; Thou deliverest me from the violent man.
49Et qui me fait échapper à mes ennemis! Tu m'élèves au-dessus de mes adversaires, Tu me délivres de l'homme violent.
49ומוציאי מאיבי ומקמי תרוממני מאיש חמסים תצילני׃
50Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah, among the nations, And will sing praises unto thy name.
50C'est pourquoi je te louerai parmi les nations, ô Eternel! Et je chanterai à la gloire de ton nom.
50על כן אודך יהוה בגוים ולשמך אזמר׃
51Great deliverance giveth he to his king, And showeth lovingkindness to his anointed, To David and to his seed, for evermore.
51Il accorde de grandes délivrances à son roi, Et il fait miséricorde à son oint, A David, et à sa postérité, pour toujours.
51מגדיל ישועות מלכו ועשה חסד למשיחו לדוד ולזרעו עד עולם׃
