¹Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ;

¹פולוס וסלונוס וטימותיוס אל קהלת התסלוניקים באלהים אבינו ובאדנינו ישוע המשיח׃

²Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²que la grâce et la paix vous soient données de la part de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ!

²חסד לכם ושלום מאת אלהים אבינו ואדנינו ישוע המשיח׃

³We are bound to give thanks to God always to you, brethren, even as it is meet, for that your faith growth exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all toward one another aboundeth;

³Nous devons à votre sujet, frères, rendre continuellement grâces à Dieu, comme cela est juste, parce que votre foi fait de grands progrès, et que la charité de chacun de vous tous à l'égard des autres augmente de plus en plus.

³חיבים אנחנו להודות בכל עת לאלהים עליכם אחי כראוי כי אמונתכם גדלה מאד ורבה אהבת כלכם איש לרעהו׃

⁴so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which ye endure;

⁴Aussi nous glorifions-nous de vous dans les Eglises de Dieu, à cause de votre persévérance et de votre foi au milieu de toutes vos persécutions et des tribulations que vous avez à supporter.

⁴עד כי נתהלל בכם אף אנחנו בקהלות אלהים על סבלנותכם ועל אמונתכם בכל הרדיפות ובכל הלחץ אשר סבלתם׃

⁵[which is] a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God; to the end that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

⁵C'est une preuve du juste jugement de Dieu, pour que vous soyez jugés dignes du royaume de Dieu, pour lequel vous souffrez.

⁵לאות צדקת משפט אלהים למען תמצאו ראוים למלכות האלהים אשר בעבורה גם תענו׃

⁶if so be that it is righteous thing with God to recompense affliction to them that afflict you,

⁶Car il est de la justice de Dieu de rendre l'affliction à ceux qui vous affligent,

⁶באשר צדיק האלהים לגמל לחץ ללחציכם׃

⁷and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire,

⁷et de vous donner, à vous qui êtes affligés, du repos avec nous, lorsque le Seigneur Jésus apparaîtra du ciel avec les anges de sa puissance,

⁷ולכם הנלחצים רוחה אתנו יחד בהגלות האדון ישוע מן השמים עם מלאכי עזו׃

⁸rendering vengeance to them that know not God, and to them that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus:

⁸au milieu d'une flamme de feu, pour punir ceux qui ne connaissent pas Dieu et ceux qui n'obéissent pas à l'Evangile de notre Seigneur Jésus.

⁸באש להבה להשיב נקם לאשר לא ידעו את האלהים ולא שמעו לבשורת אדנינו ישוע המשיח׃

⁹who shall suffer punishment, [even] eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

⁹Ils auront pour châtiment une ruine éternelle, loin de la face du Seigneur et de la gloire de sa force,

⁹אשר ישאו משפט אבדן עולם מאת פני האדון ומהדר גאונו׃

¹⁰when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marvelled at in all them that believed (because our testimony unto you was believed) in that day.

¹⁰lorsqu'il viendra pour être, en ce jour-là, glorifié dans ses saints et admiré dans tous ceux qui auront cru, car notre témoignage auprès de vous a été cru.

¹⁰בבאו ביום ההוא להכבד בקדשיו ולהתפלא בכל המאמינים כי האמנתם לעדותנו אליכם׃

¹¹To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfil every desire of goodness and [every] work of faith, with power;

¹¹C'est pourquoi aussi nous prions continuellement pour vous, afin que notre Dieu vous juge dignes de la vocation, et qu'il accomplisse par sa puissance tous les desseins bienveillants de sa bonté, et l'oeuvre de votre foi,

¹¹לכן גם נתפלל בעדכם בכל עת אשר יתן אתכם אלהינו ראוים אל אשר אתם מקראים וימלא בעז כל חפצכם בטוב וכל מעשה אמונתכם׃

¹²that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹²pour que le nom de notre Seigneur Jésus soit glorifié en vous, et que vous soyez glorifiés en lui, selon la grâce de notre Dieu et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ.

¹²למען יכבד בכם שם ישוע אדנינו ואתם תכבדו בו על פי חסד אלהינו ואדנינו ישוע המשיח׃
