¹Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

¹Paul, apôtre de Jésus Christ par la volonté de Dieu, et le frère Timothée,

¹פולוס שליח ישוע המשיח ברצון אלהים וטימותיוס אחינו׃

²To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ [that are] at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

²aux saints et fidèles frères en Christ qui sont à Colosses; que la grâce et la paix vous soient données de la part de Dieu notre Père!

²אל הקדשים והאחים הנאמנים במשיח אשר הם בקולשא חסד לכם ושלום מאת האלהים אבינו ואדנינו ישוע המשיח׃

³We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

³Nous rendons grâces à Dieu, le Père de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, et nous ne cessons de prier pour vous,

³נודה לאלהים אבי אדנינו ישוע המשיח בכל עת אשר אנחנו מתפללים בעדכם׃

⁴having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have toward all the saints,

⁴ayant été informés de votre foi en Jésus-Christ et de votre charité pour tous les saints,

⁴אחרי אשר שמענו אמונתכם במשיח ישוע ואהבתכם אל כל הקדשים׃

⁵because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,

⁵cause de l'espérance qui vous est réservée dans les cieux, et que la parole de la vérité, la parole de l'Evangile vous a précédemment fait connaître.

⁵בעבור התקוה הצפונה לכם בשמים ונודעתם לכם מקדם בדבר אמת הבשורה׃

⁶which is come unto you; even as it is also in all the world bearing fruit and increasing, as [it doth] in you also, since the day ye heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

⁶Il est au milieu de vous, et dans le monde entier; il porte des fruits, et il va grandissant, comme c'est aussi le cas parmi vous, depuis le jour où vous avez entendu et connu la grâce de Dieu conformément à la vérité,

⁶אשר באה אליכם וגם לכל העולם ותפרה ותרבה כמו גם בתוככם למן היום אשר שמעתם והכרתם באמת את חסד אלהים׃

⁷even as ye learned of Epaphras our beloved fellow-servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf,

⁷d'après les instructions que vous avez reçues d'Epaphras, notre bien-aimé compagnon de service, qui est pour vous un fidèle ministre de Christ,

⁷כאשר למדתם מן אפפרס חברנו החביב אשר הוא משרת נאמן בעדכם למשיח׃

⁸who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

⁸et qui nous a appris de quelle charité l'Esprit vous anime.

⁸והוא גם הודיע אתנו את האבתכם ברוח׃

⁹For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not cease to pray and make request for you, that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

⁹C'est pour cela que nous aussi, depuis le jour où nous en avons été informés, nous ne cessons de prier Dieu pour vous, et de demander que vous soyez remplis de la connaissance de sa volonté, en toute sagesse et intelligence spirituelle,

⁹בעבור זאת גם אנחנו למן היום אשר שמענוה לא חדלנו להתפלל בעדכם ולבקש שתמלאו דעת רצון האלהים בכל חכמה ותבונה רוחנית׃

¹⁰to walk worthily of the Lord unto all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

¹⁰pour marcher d'une manière digne du Seigneur et lui être entièrement agréables, portant des fruits en toutes sortes de bonnes oeuvres et croissant par la connaissance de Dieu,

¹⁰להתהלך כטוב בעיני האדון וככל רצונו ולעשות פרי בכל מעשה טוב ולרבות בדעת אלהים׃

¹¹strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy;

¹¹fortifiés à tous égards par sa puissance glorieuse, en sorte que vous soyez toujours et avec joie persévérants et patients.

¹¹להתחזק בכל כח כגבורת כבודו לכל סבלנות וארך רוח עם שמחה׃

¹²giving thanks unto the Father, who made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;

¹²Rendez grâces au Père, qui vous a rendus capables d'avoir part à l'héritage des saints dans la lumière,

¹²ולתת תודה לאבינו העשה אתנו ראוים לחלק נחלת הקדשים באור׃

¹³who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love;

¹³qui nous a délivrés de la puissance des ténèbres et nous a transportés dans le royaume du Fils de son amour,

¹³אשר הוא חלצנו מממשלת החשך והעבירנו למלכות בן אהבתו׃

¹⁴in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins:

¹⁴en qui nous avons la rédemption, la rémission des péchés.

¹⁴אשר יש לנו בו הפדיון בדמו סליחת החטאים׃

¹⁵who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation;

¹⁵Il est l'image du Dieu invisible, le premier-né de toute la création.

¹⁵והוא צלם האלהים הנעלם ובכור כל נברא׃

¹⁶for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;

¹⁶Car en lui ont été créées toutes les choses qui sont dans les cieux et sur la terre, les visibles et les invisibles, trônes, dignités, dominations, autorités. Tout a été créé par lui et pour lui.

¹⁶כי בו נברא כל אשר בשמים ואשר בארץ כל הנראה וכל אשר איננו נראה הן כסאות וממשלות הן שררות ורשיות הכל נברא על ידי ולמענהו׃

¹⁷and he is before all things, and in him all things consist.

¹⁷Il est avant toutes choses, et toutes choses subsistent en lui.

¹⁷והוא לפני הכל והכל קים בו׃

¹⁸And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

¹⁸Il est la tête du corps de l'Eglise; il est le commencement, le premier-né d'entre les morts, afin d'être en tout le premier.

¹⁸והוא ראש גוף העדה אשר הוא ראשית ובכור מעם המתים למען יהיה הראשון בכל׃

¹⁹For it was the good pleasure [of the Father] that in him should all the fulness dwell;

¹⁹Car Dieu a voulu que toute plénitude habitât en lui;

¹⁹כי כן היה הרצון לשכן בו את כל המלוא׃

²⁰and through him to reconcile all things unto himself, having made peace through the blood of his cross; through him, [I say], whether things upon the earth, or things in the heavens.

²⁰il a voulu par lui réconcilier tout avec lui-même, tant ce qui est sur la terre que ce qui est dans les cieux, en faisant la paix par lui, par le sang de sa croix.

²⁰ולרצות אל עצמו את הכל על ידו בעשותו שלום בדם צלבו על ידו הן אשר בארץ הן אשר בשמים׃

²¹And you, being in time past alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil works,

²¹Et vous, qui étiez autrefois étrangers et ennemis par vos pensées et par vos mauvaises oeuvres, il vous a maintenant réconciliés

²¹וגם אתם אשר הייתם מלפנים מוזרים ואיבים בנטות לבבכם אחרי המעשים הרעים׃

²²yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and without blemish and unreproveable before him:

²²par sa mort dans le corps de sa chair, pour vous faire paraître devant lui saints, irrépréhensibles et sans reproche,

²²עתה רצה אתכם בגוף בשרו על ידי מותו להעמידכם לפניו קדשים ובלי מום ודפי׃

²³if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made a minister.

²³si du moins vous demeurez fondés et inébranlables dans la foi, sans vous détourner de l'espérance de l'Evangile que vous avez entendu, qui a été prêché à toute créature sous le ciel, et dont moi Paul, j'ai été fait ministre.

²³אם תעמדו מיסדים ונכונים באמונה ולא תזועו מתוחלת הבשורה אשר שמעתם ואשר נשמעה לכל הנברא תחת השמים ואני פולוס הייתי לה למשרת׃

²⁴Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church;

²⁴Je me réjouis maintenant dans mes souffrances pour vous; et ce qui manque aux souffrances de Christ, je l'achève en ma chair, pour son corps, qui est l'Eglise.

²⁴עתה הנני שמח בענויי אשר אני סבל למענכם ואמלא את החסר ביסורי המשיח בבשרי בעד גופו היא העדה׃

²⁵whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you-ward, to fulfil the word of God,

²⁵C'est d'elle que j'ai été fait ministre, selon la charge que Dieu m'a donnée auprès de vous, afin que j'annonçasse pleinement la parole de Dieu,

²⁵אשר הייתי לה למשרת כפי פקדת אלהים אשר נתנה לי עליכם למלאת את דבר האלהים׃

²⁶[even] the mystery which hath been hid for ages and generations: but now hath it been manifested to his saints,

²⁶le mystère caché de tout temps et dans tous les âges, mais révélé maintenant à ses saints,

²⁶את הסוד אשר היה נסתר מעולמים ומדור ודור ועתה נגלה לקדושיו׃

²⁷to whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

²⁷qui Dieu a voulu faire connaître quelle est la glorieuse richesse de ce mystère parmi les païens, savoir: Christ en vous, l'espérance de la gloire.

²⁷אשר רצה האלהים להודיעם אי זה הוא עשר כבוד הסוד ההוא בגוים והוא המשיח אשר בכם אשר הוא תקות הכבוד׃

²⁸whom we proclaim, admonishing every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ;

²⁸C'est lui que nous annonçons, exhortant tout homme, et instruisant tout homme en toute sagesse, afin de présenter à Dieu tout homme, devenu parfait en Christ.

²⁸ואותו משמיעים אנחנו בהוכיחנו כל איש ובלמדנו כל איש בכל חכמה למען העמיד כל איש שלם במשיח ישוע׃

²⁹whereunto I labor also, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

²⁹C'est à quoi je travaille, en combattant avec sa force, qui agit puissamment en moi.

²⁹ובזאת אף אני עמל ונלחם כפי פעלת כחו הפעל בי בגבורה׃
