¹The word of Jehovah also came unto me, saying,

¹La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

¹ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃

²Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of the rebellious house, that have eyes to see, and see not, that have ears to hear, and hear not; for they are a rebellious house.

²Fils de l'homme, tu habites au milieu d'une famille de rebelles, qui ont des yeux pour voir et qui ne voient point, des oreilles pour entendre et qui n'entendent point; car c'est une famille de rebelles.

²בן אדם בתוך בית המרי אתה ישב אשר עינים להם לראות ולא ראו אזנים להם לשמע ולא שמעו כי בית מרי הם׃

³Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.

³Et toi, fils de l'homme, prépare tes effets de voyage, et pars de jour, sous leurs yeux! Pars, en leur présence, du lieu où tu es pour un autre lieu: peut-être verront-ils qu'ils sont une famille de rebelles.

³ואתה בן אדם עשה לך כלי גולה וגלה יומם לעיניהם וגלית ממקומך אל מקום אחר לעיניהם אולי יראו כי בית מרי המה׃

⁴And thou shalt bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing; and thou shalt go forth thyself at even in their sight, as when men go forth into exile.

⁴Sors tes effets comme des effets de voyage, de jour sous leurs yeux; et toi, pars le soir, en leur présence, comme partent des exilés.

⁴והוצאת כליך ככלי גולה יומם לעיניהם ואתה תצא בערב לעיניהם כמוצאי גולה׃

⁵Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.

⁵Sous leurs yeux, tu perceras la muraille, et tu sortiras tes effets par là.

⁵לעיניהם חתר לך בקיר והוצאת בו׃

⁶In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulder, and carry it forth in the dark; thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the land: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.

⁶Sous leurs yeux, tu les mettras sur ton épaule, tu les sortiras pendant l'obscurité, tu te couvriras le visage, et tu ne regarderas pas la terre; car je veux que tu sois un signe pour la maison d'Israël.

⁶לעיניהם על כתף תשא בעלטה תוציא פניך תכסה ולא תראה את הארץ כי מופת נתתיך לבית ישראל׃

⁷And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for removing, and in the even I digged through the wall with my hand; I brought it forth in the dark, and bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.

⁷Je fis ce qui m'avait été ordonné: je sortis de jour mes effets comme des effets de voyage, le soir je perçai la muraille avec la main, et je les sortis pendant l'obscurité et les mis sur mon épaule, en leur présence.

⁷ואעש כן כאשר צויתי כלי הוצאתי ככלי גולה יומם ובערב חתרתי לי בקיר ביד בעלטה הוצאתי על כתף נשאתי לעיניהם׃

⁸And in the morning came the word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

⁸Le matin, la parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

⁸ויהי דבר יהוה אלי בבקר לאמר׃

⁹Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?

⁹Fils de l'homme, la maison d'Israël, cette famille de rebelles ne t'a-t-elle pas dit: Que fais-tu?

⁹בן אדם הלא אמרו אליך בית ישראל בית המרי מה אתה עשה׃

¹⁰Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: This burden [concerneth] the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel among whom they are.

¹⁰Dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Cet oracle concerne le prince qui est à Jérusalem, et toute la maison d'Israël qui s'y trouve.

¹⁰אמר אליהם כה אמר אדני יהוה הנשיא המשא הזה בירושלם וכל בית ישראל אשר המה בתוכם׃

¹¹Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them; they shall go into exile, into captivity.

¹¹Dis: Je suis pour vous un signe. Ce que j'ai fait, c'est ce qui leur sera fait: Ils iront en exil, en captivité.

¹¹אמר אני מופתכם כאשר עשיתי כן יעשה להם בגולה בשבי ילכו׃

¹²And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the dark, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, because he shall not see the land with his eyes.

¹²Le prince qui est au milieu d'eux Mettra son bagage sur l'épaule pendant l'obscurité et partira; On percera la muraille pour le faire sortir; Il se couvrira le visage, Pour que ses yeux ne regardent pas la terre.

¹²והנשיא אשר בתוכם אל כתף ישא בעלטה ויצא בקיר יחתרו להוציא בו פניו יכסה יען אשר לא יראה לעין הוא את הארץ׃

¹³My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare; and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.

¹³J'étendrai mon rets sur lui, Et il sera pris dans mon filet; Je l'emmènerai à Babylone, dans le pays des Chaldéens; Mais il ne le verra pas, et il y mourra.

¹³ופרשתי את רשתי עליו ונתפש במצודתי והבאתי אתו בבלה ארץ כשדים ואותה לא יראה ושם ימות׃

¹⁴And I will scatter toward every wind all that are round about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.

¹⁴Tous ceux qui l'entourent et lui sont en aide, Et toutes ses troupes, je les disperserai à tous les vents, Et je tirerai l'épée derrière eux.

¹⁴וכל אשר סביבתיו עזרה וכל אגפיו אזרה לכל רוח וחרב אריק אחריהם׃

¹⁵And they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall disperse them among the nations, and scatter them through the countries.

¹⁵Et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel, Quand je les répandrai parmi les nations, Quand je les disperserai en divers pays.

¹⁵וידעו כי אני יהוה בהפיצי אותם בגוים וזריתי אותם בארצות׃

¹⁶But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the nations whither they come; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

¹⁶Mais je laisserai d'eux quelques hommes Qui échapperont à l'épée, à la famine et à la peste, Afin qu'ils racontent toutes leurs abominations Parmi les nations où ils iront. Et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel.

¹⁶והותרתי מהם אנשי מספר מחרב מרעב ומדבר למען יספרו את כל תועבותיהם בגוים אשר באו שם וידעו כי אני יהוה׃

¹⁷Moreover the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,

¹⁷La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

¹⁷ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃

¹⁸Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with fearfulness;

¹⁸Fils de l'homme, tu mangeras ton pain avec tremblement, Tu boiras ton eau avec inquiétude et angoisse.

¹⁸בן אדם לחמך ברעש תאכל ומימיך ברגזה ובדאגה תשתה׃

¹⁹and say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the land of Israel: They shall eat their bread with fearfulness, and drink their water in dismay, that her land may be desolate, [and despoiled] of all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.

¹⁹Dis au peuple du pays: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel, Sur les habitants de Jérusalem dans la terre d'Israël! Ils mangeront leur pain avec angoisse, Et ils boiront leur eau avec épouvante; Car leur pays sera dépouillé de tout ce qu'il contient, A cause de la violence de tous ceux qui l'habitent.

¹⁹ואמרת אל עם הארץ כה אמר אדני יהוה ליושבי ירושלם אל אדמת ישראל לחמם בדאגה יאכלו ומימיהם בשממון ישתו למען תשם ארצה ממלאה מחמס כל הישבים בה׃

²⁰And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be a desolation; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

²⁰Les villes peuplées seront détruites, Et le pays sera ravagé. Et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel.

²⁰והערים הנושבות תחרבנה והארץ שממה תהיה וידעתם כי אני יהוה׃

²¹And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

²¹La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

²¹ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃

²²Son of man, what is this proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?

²²Fils de l'homme, que signifient ces discours moqueurs Que vous tenez dans le pays d'Israël: Les jours se prolongent, Et toutes les visions restent sans effet?

²²בן אדם מה המשל הזה לכם על אדמת ישראל לאמר יארכו הימים ואבד כל חזון׃

²³Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the fulfilment of every vision.

²³C'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Je ferai cesser ces discours moqueurs; On ne les tiendra plus en Israël. Dis-leur, au contraire: Les jours approchent, Et toutes les visions s'accompliront.

²³לכן אמר אליהם כה אמר אדני יהוה השבתי את המשל הזה ולא ימשלו אתו עוד בישראל כי אם דבר אליהם קרבו הימים ודבר כל חזון׃

²⁴For there shall be no more any false vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.

²⁴Car il n'y aura plus de visions vaines, Ni d'oracles trompeurs, Au milieu de la maison d'Israël.

²⁴כי לא יהיה עוד כל חזון שוא ומקסם חלק בתוך בית ישראל׃

²⁵For I am Jehovah; I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall be performed; it shall be no more deferred: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I speak the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord Jehovah.

²⁵Car moi, l'Eternel, je parlerai; Ce que je dirai s'accomplira, Et ne sera plus différé; Oui, de vos jours, famille de rebelles, Je prononcerai une parole et je l'accomplirai, Dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel.

²⁵כי אני יהוה אדבר את אשר אדבר דבר ויעשה לא תמשך עוד כי בימיכם בית המרי אדבר דבר ועשיתיו נאם אדני יהוה׃

²⁶Again the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,

²⁶La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

²⁶ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃

²⁷Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many day to come, and he prophesieth of times that are far off.

²⁷Fils de l'homme, voici, la maison d'Israël dit: Les visions qu'il a ne sont pas près de s'accomplir; Il prophétise pour des temps éloignés.

²⁷בן אדם הנה בית ישראל אמרים החזון אשר הוא חזה לימים רבים ולעתים רחוקות הוא נבא׃

²⁸Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: There shall none of my words be deferred any more, but the word which I shall speak shall be performed, saith the Lord Jehovah.

²⁸C'est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Il n'y aura plus de délai dans l'accomplissement de mes paroles; La parole que je prononcerai s'accomplira, Dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel.

²⁸לכן אמר אליהם כה אמר אדני יהוה לא תמשך עוד כל דברי אשר אדבר דבר ויעשה נאם אדני יהוה׃
