¹Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me.

¹Que votre coeur ne se trouble point. Croyez en Dieu, et croyez en moi.

¹אל יבהל לבבכם האמינו באלהים ובי האמינו׃

²In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.

²Il y a plusieurs demeures dans la maison de mon Père. Si cela n'était pas, je vous l'aurais dit. Je vais vous préparer une place.

²בבית אבי מעונות רבות ואם לא כן הוא כי עתה הגדתי לכם הנני הלך להכין מקום לכם׃

³And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.

³Et, lorsque je m'en serai allé, et que je vous aurai préparé une place, je reviendrai, et je vous prendrai avec moi, afin que là où je suis vous y soyez aussi.

³והיה כי הלכתי והכינותי לכם מקום שוב אשוב ולקחתי אתכם אלי למען באשר אהיה שם תהיו גם אתם׃

⁴And whither I go, ye know the way.

⁴Vous savez où je vais, et vous en savez le chemin.

⁴ואל אשר אני הולך שמה ידעתם ואת הדרך ידעתם׃

⁵Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; how know we the way?

⁵Thomas lui dit: Seigneur, nous ne savons où tu vas; comment pouvons-nous en savoir le chemin?

⁵ויאמר אליו תומא אדני לא ידענו אנה אתה הלך ואיככה נדע את הדרך׃

⁶Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.

⁶Jésus lui dit: Je suis le chemin, la vérité, et la vie. Nul ne vient au Père que par moi.

⁶ויאמר אליו ישוע אנכי הנני הדרך והאמת והחיים לא יבא איש אל האב כי אם על ידי׃

⁷If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

⁷Si vous me connaissiez, vous connaîtriez aussi mon Père. Et dès maintenant vous le connaissez, et vous l'avez vu.

⁷לו ידעתם אתי גם את אבי ידעתם ומעתה ידעתם אתו וראיתם אתו׃

⁸Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

⁸Philippe lui dit: Seigneur, montre-nous le Père, et cela nous suffit.

⁸ויאמר אליו פילפוס אדני הראנו נא את האב ודי לנו׃

⁹Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; how sayest thou, Show us the Father?

⁹Jésus lui dit: Il y a si longtemps que je suis avec vous, et tu ne m'as pas connu, Philippe! Celui qui m'a vu a vu le Père; comment dis-tu: Montre-nous le Père?

⁹ויאמר אליו ישוע זה כמה ימים אנכי אתכם ואתה פילפוס הטרם תדעני הראה אתי ראה את האב ולמה זה תאמר הראנו את האב׃

¹⁰Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say unto you I speak not from myself: but the Father abiding in me doeth his works.

¹⁰Ne crois-tu pas que je suis dans le Père, et que le Père est en moi? Les paroles que je vous dis, je ne les dis pas de moi-même; et le Père qui demeure en moi, c'est lui qui fait les oeuvres.

¹⁰האינך מאמין כי אנכי באבי ואבי בי הוא הדברים אשר אדבר אליכם לא מנפשי אנכי דבר כי אבי השכן בקרבי הוא עשה את המעשים׃

¹¹Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

¹¹Croyez-moi, je suis dans le Père, et le Père est en moi; croyez du moins à cause de ces oeuvres.

¹¹האמינו לי כי אנכי באבי ואבי בי הוא ואם לא אך בגלל המעשים האמינו לי׃

¹²Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father.

¹²En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, celui qui croit en moi fera aussi les oeuvres que je fais, et il en fera de plus grandes, parce que je m'en vais au Père;

¹²אמן אמן אני אמר לכם המאמין בי יעשה גם הוא את המעשים אשר אנכי עשה וגדלות מאלה יעשה כי אני הולך אל אבי׃

¹³And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

¹³et tout ce que vous demanderez en mon nom, je le ferai, afin que le Père soit glorifié dans le Fils.

¹³וכל אשר תשאלו בשמי אעשנו למען יכבד האב בבנו׃

¹⁴If ye shall ask anything in my name, that will I do.

¹⁴Si vous demandez quelque chose en mon nom, je le ferai.

¹⁴כי תשאלו דבר בשמי אני אעשנו׃

¹⁵If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments.

¹⁵Si vous m'aimez, gardez mes commandements.

¹⁵אם אהבתם אתי את מצותי תשמרו׃

¹⁶And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,

¹⁶Et moi, je prierai le Père, et il vous donnera un autre consolateur, afin qu'il demeure éternellement avec vous,

¹⁶ואני אשאלה מאבי והוא יתן לכם פרקליט אחר אשר ישכן אתכם לנצח׃

¹⁷[even] the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you.

¹⁷l'Esprit de vérité, que le monde ne peut recevoir, parce qu'il ne le voit point et ne le connaît point; mais vous, vous le connaissez, car il demeure avec vous, et il sera en vous.

¹⁷את רוח האמת אשר לא יכל העולם להשיגו באשר לא יראהו ולא ידעהו ואתם ידעתם אתו כי אתכם שכן הוא אף יהיה בתוככם׃

¹⁸I will not leave you desolate: I come unto you.

¹⁸Je ne vous laisserai pas orphelins, je viendrai à vous.

¹⁸לא אעזבכם יתומים אבואה אליכם׃

¹⁹Yet a little while, and the world beholdeth me no more; but ye behold me: because I live, ye shall live also.

¹⁹Encore un peu de temps, et le monde ne me verra plus; mais vous, vous me verrez, car je vis, et vous vivrez aussi.

¹⁹עוד מעט והעולם לא יוסיף לראות אתי ואתם תראוני כי חי אני וגם אתם חיה תחיו׃

²⁰In that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

²⁰En ce jour-là, vous connaîtrez que je suis en mon Père, que vous êtes en moi, et que je suis en vous.

²⁰והיה ביום ההוא ידוע תדעו כי אני באבי ואתם בי ואני בכם׃

²¹He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him.

²¹Celui qui a mes commandements et qui les garde, c'est celui qui m'aime; et celui qui m'aime sera aimé de mon Père, je l'aimerai, et je me ferai connaître à lui.

²¹מי אשר מצותי אתו וינצרן זה הוא אשר יאהבני ואהבי אהוב הוא לאבי ואני אהבהו ואליו אתודע׃

²²Judas (not Iscariot) saith unto him, Lord, what is come to pass that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

²²Jude, non pas l'Iscariot, lui dit: Seigneur, d'où vient que tu te feras connaître à nous, et non au monde?

²²ויאמר אליו יהודה לא יהודה איש קריות אדני מה הוא זה כי תחפץ להתודע אלינו ולא לעולם׃

²³Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

²³Jésus lui répondit: Si quelqu'un m'aime, il gardera ma parole, et mon Père l'aimera; nous viendrons à lui, et nous ferons notre demeure chez lui.

²³ויען ישוע ויאמר אליו איש כי יאהבני ישמר את דברי ואבי יאהב אתו ונבואה אליו ונשים אצלו מעונתנו׃

²⁴He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

²⁴Celui qui ne m'aime pas ne garde point mes paroles. Et la parole que vous entendez n'est pas de moi, mais du Père qui m'a envoyé.

²⁴ואשר לא יאהבני הוא לא ישמר את דברי והדבר אשר שמעתם לא שלי הוא כי אם של אבי אשר שלחני׃

²⁵These things have I spoken unto you, while [yet] abiding with you.

²⁵Je vous ai dit ces choses pendant que je demeure avec vous.

²⁵את אלה דברתי אליכם בעוד היותי עמכם׃

²⁶But the Comforter, [even] the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

²⁶Mais le consolateur, l'Esprit-Saint, que le Père enverra en mon nom, vous enseignera toutes choses, et vous rappellera tout ce que je vous ai dit.

²⁶והפרקליט תוח הקדש אשר ישלחנו אבי בשמי הוא ילמדכם את כל ויזכירכם את כל אשר הגדתי לכם׃

²⁷Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

²⁷Je vous laisse la paix, je vous donne ma paix. Je ne vous donne pas comme le monde donne. Que votre coeur ne se trouble point, et ne s'alarme point.

²⁷שלום אניח לכם את שלומי אתן לכם לא כאשר יתן העולם אנכי נתן לכם אל יבהל לבבכם ואל יחת׃

²⁸Ye heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: for the Father is greater than I.

²⁸Vous avez entendu que je vous ai dit: Je m'en vais, et je reviens vers vous. Si vous m'aimiez, vous vous réjouiriez de ce que je vais au Père; car le Père est plus grand que moi.

²⁸הלא שמעתם כי אמרתי אליכם אלך לי ואשובה אליכם אם אהב תאהבוני כי עתה תשמחו באמרי לכם כי הלך אני אל האב כי אבי גדול ממני׃

²⁹And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe.

²⁹Et maintenant je vous ai dit ces choses avant qu'elles arrivent, afin que, lorsqu'elles arriveront, vous croyiez.

²⁹ועתה הנה הגדתי זאת לכם בטרם היותה למען בבואה תאמינו׃

³⁰I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world cometh: and he hath nothing in me;

³⁰Je ne parlerai plus guère avec vous; car le prince du monde vient. Il n'a rien en moi;

³⁰לא ארבה עוד אמרים עמכם כי יבוא שר העולם הזה ובי אין לו מאומה׃

³¹but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

³¹mais afin que le monde sache que j'aime le Père, et que j'agis selon l'ordre que le Père m'a donné, levez-vous, partons d'ici.

³¹אך למען ידע העולם כי את אבי אני אהב וכאשר צוני אבי כן אני עשה קומו ונלכה מזה׃
