¹And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

¹Trois jours après, il y eut des noces à Cana en Galilée. La mère de Jésus était là,

¹וביום השלישי היתה חתנה בקנה אשר בגליל ואם ישוע היתה שם׃

²and Jesus also was bidden, and his disciples, to the marriage.

²et Jésus fut aussi invité aux noces avec ses disciples.

²וישוע ותלמידיו היו גם הם קרואים אל החתנה׃

³And when the wine failed, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

³Le vin ayant manqué, la mère de Jésus lui dit: Ils n'ont plus de vin.

³ויחסר היין ותאמר אם ישוע אליו יין אין להם׃

⁴And Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

⁴Jésus lui répondit: Femme, qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi? Mon heure n'est pas encore venue.

⁴ויאמר אליה ישוע מה לי ולך אשה עתי עדין לא באה׃

⁵His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

⁵Sa mère dit aux serviteurs: Faites ce qu'il vous dira.

⁵ותאמר אמו אל המשרתים ככל אשר יאמר לכם תעשו׃

⁶Now there were six waterpots of stone set there after the Jews' manner of purifying, containing two or three firkins apiece.

⁶Or, il y avait là six vases de pierre, destinés aux purifications des Juifs, et contenant chacun deux ou trois mesures.

⁶והנה ששה כדי אבן ערוכים שם כמשפט היהודים לטהרתם שתים או שלש בתים יכיל כל אחד׃

⁷Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

⁷Jésus leur dit: Remplissez d'eau ces vases. Et ils les remplirent jusqu'au bord.

⁷ויאמר אליהם ישוע מלאו לכם הכדים מים וימלאום עד למעלה׃

⁸And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the ruler of the feast. And they bare it.

⁸Puisez maintenant, leur dit-il, et portez-en à l'ordonnateur du repas. Et ils en portèrent.

⁸ויאמר שאבו נא והביאו אל רב המסבה ויביאו׃

⁹And when the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and knew not whence it was (but the servants that had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast calleth the bridegroom,

⁹Quand l'ordonnateur du repas eut goûté l'eau changée en vin,-ne sachant d'où venait ce vin, tandis que les serviteurs, qui avaient puisé l'eau, le savaient bien, -il appela l'époux,

⁹ויטעם רב המסבה את המים אשר נהפכו ליין ולא ידע מאין הוא ואולם המשרתים אשר שאבו את המים ידעו ויקרא רב המסבה אל החתן׃

¹⁰and saith unto him, Every man setteth on first the good wine; and when [men] have drunk freely, [then] that which is worse: thou hast kept the good wine until now.

¹⁰et lui dit: Tout homme sert d'abord le bon vin, puis le moins bon après qu'on s'est enivré; toi, tu as gardé le bon vin jusqu'à présent.

¹⁰ויאמר אליו כל איש יתן בראשונה את היין הטוב וכאשר ישכרו יתן להם את הגרוע ואתה צפנת היין הטוב עד עתה׃

¹¹This beginning of his signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

¹¹Tel fut, à Cana en Galilée, le premier des miracles que fit Jésus. Il manifesta sa gloire, et ses disciples crurent en lui.

¹¹זאת תחלת האתות אשר עשה ישוע בקנה אשר בארץ הגליל וגלה את כבודו ויאמינו בו תלמידיו׃

¹²After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and [his] brethren, and his disciples; and there they abode not many days.

¹²Après cela, il descendit à Capernaüm, avec sa mère, ses frères et ses disciples, et ils n'y demeurèrent que peu de jours.

¹²ויהי אחרי כן וירד אל כפר נחום הוא ואמו ואחיו ותלמידיו ולא ארכו ימי שבתם שם׃

¹³And the passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

¹³La Pâque des Juifs était proche, et Jésus monta à Jérusalem.

¹³ויקרבו ימי חג הפסח אשר ליהודים ויעל ישוע ירושלים׃

¹⁴And he found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

¹⁴Il trouva dans le temple les vendeurs de boeufs, de brebis et de pigeons, et les changeurs assis.

¹⁴וימצא במקדש מכרי בקר וצאן ובני יונה ואת מחליפי כסף ישבים שם׃

¹⁵and he made a scourge of cords, and cast all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers' money, and overthrew their tables;

¹⁵Ayant fait un fouet avec des cordes, il les chassa tous du temple, ainsi que les brebis et les boeufs; il dispersa la monnaie des changeurs, et renversa les tables;

¹⁵ויקח חבלים ויעבתם לשוט ויגרש כלם מן המקדש ואת הצאן ואת הבקר ויפזר את מעות השלחנים ויהפך שלחנתיהם׃

¹⁶and to them that sold the doves he said, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise.

¹⁶et il dit aux vendeurs de pigeons: Otez cela d'ici, ne faites pas de la maison de mon Père une maison de trafic.

¹⁶ואל מכרי היונים אמר הוציאו אלה מזה ואל תעשו את בית אבי לבית מסחר׃

¹⁷His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for thy house shall eat me up.

¹⁷Ses disciples se souvinrent qu'il est écrit: Le zèle de ta maison me dévore.

¹⁷ויזכרו תלמידיו את הכתוב כי קנאת ביתך אכלתני׃

¹⁸The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

¹⁸Les Juifs, prenant la parole, lui dirent: Quel miracle nous montres-tu, pour agir de la sorte?

¹⁸ויענו היהודים ויאמרו אליו אי זו אות תראנו כי כזאת אתה עשה׃

¹⁹Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

¹⁹Jésus leur répondit: Détruisez ce temple, et en trois jours je le relèverai.

¹⁹ויען ישוע ויאמר אליהם הרסו את ההיכל הזה ובשלשה ימים אקימנו׃

²⁰The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?

²⁰Les Juifs dirent: Il a fallu quarante-six ans pour bâtir ce temple, et toi, en trois jours tu le relèveras!

²⁰ויאמרו היהודים הנה זה ארבעים ושש שנה נבנה ההיכל הזה ואתה בשלשה ימים תקימנו׃

²¹But he spake of the temple of his body.

²¹Mais il parlait du temple de son corps.

²¹והוא דבר על היכל גויתו׃

²²When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he spake this; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

²²C'est pourquoi, lorsqu'il fut ressuscité des morts, ses disciples se souvinrent qu'il avait dit cela, et ils crurent à l'Ecriture et à la parole que Jésus avait dite.

²²ואחרי קומו מן המתים זכרו תלמידיו כי זאת אמר להם ויאמינו בכתוב ובדבר אשר דבר ישוע׃

²³Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, many believed on his name, beholding his signs which he did.

²³Pendant que Jésus était à Jérusalem, à la fête de Pâque, plusieurs crurent en son nom, voyant les miracles qu'il faisait.

²³ויהי בהיתו בירושלים בחג הפסח האמינו רבים בשמו כי ראו האתות אשר עשה׃

²⁴But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men,

²⁴Mais Jésus ne se fiait point à eux, parce qu'il les connaissait tous,

²⁴והוא ישוע לא הפקיד את עצמו בידם על אשר ידע את כלם׃

²⁵and because he needed not that any one should bear witness concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.

²⁵et parce qu'il n'avait pas besoin qu'on lui rendît témoignage d'aucun homme; car il savait lui-même ce qui était dans l'homme.

²⁵ולא הצטרך לעדות איש על האדם כי הוא ידע מה בקרב האדם׃
