¹Now on the first [day] of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, while it was yet dark, unto the tomb, and seeth the stone taken away from the tomb.

¹Le premier jour de la semaine, Marie de Magdala se rendit au sépulcre dès le matin, comme il faisait encore obscur; et elle vit que la pierre était ôtée du sépulcre.

¹ויהי באחד בשבת לפנות הבקר בעוד חשך ותבא מרים המגדלית אל הקבר ותרא את האבן מוסרה מעל הקבר׃

²She runneth therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him.

²Elle courut vers Simon Pierre et vers l'autre disciple que Jésus aimait, et leur dit: Ils ont enlevé du sépulcre le Seigneur, et nous ne savons où ils l'ont mis.

²ותרץ ותבא אל שמעון פטרוס ואל התלמיד האחר אשר חשק בו ישוע ותאמר אליהם הנה נשאו את האדון מקברו ולא ידענו איפה הניחהו׃

³Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they went toward the tomb.

³Pierre et l'autre disciple sortirent, et allèrent au sépulcre.

³ויצא פטרוס והתלמיד האחר וילכו אל הקבר׃

⁴And they ran both together: and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb;

⁴Ils couraient tous deux ensemble. Mais l'autre disciple courut plus vite que Pierre, et arriva le premier au sépulcre;

⁴וירוצו שניהם יחדו וימהר התלמיד האחר לרוץ ויעבר את פטרוס ויבא ראשונה אל הקבר׃

⁵and stooping and looking in, he seeth the linen cloths lying; yet entered he not in.

⁵s'étant baissé, il vit les bandes qui étaient à terre, cependant il n'entra pas.

⁵וישקף אל תוכו וירא את התכריכין מנחים אך לא בא פנימה׃

⁶Simon Peter therefore also cometh, following him, and entered into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying,

⁶Simon Pierre, qui le suivait, arriva et entra dans le sépulcre; il vit les bandes qui étaient à terre,

⁶ויבא שמעון פטרוס אחריו והוא נכנס אל הקבר וירא את התכריכין מנחים׃

⁷and the napkin, that was upon his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself.

⁷et le linge qu'on avait mis sur la tête de Jésus, non pas avec les bandes, mais plié dans un lieu à part.

⁷והסודר אשר היתה על ראשו איננה מנחת אצל התכריכין כי אם מקפלת לבדה במקומה׃

⁸Then entered in therefore the other disciple also, who came first to the tomb, and he saw, and believed.

⁸Alors l'autre disciple, qui était arrivé le premier au sépulcre, entra aussi; et il vit, et il crut.

⁸ויבא שמה גם התלמיד האחר אשר בא ראשונה אל הקבר וירא ויאמן׃

⁹For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise from the dead.

⁹Car ils ne comprenaient pas encore que, selon l'Ecriture, Jésus devait ressusciter des morts.

⁹כי לא הבינו עד עתה את הכתוב אשר קום יקום מעם המתים׃

¹⁰So the disciples went away again unto their own home.

¹⁰Et les disciples s'en retournèrent chez eux.

¹⁰וישובו התלמידים וילכו אל ביתם׃

¹¹But Mary was standing without at the tomb weeping: so, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb;

¹¹Cependant Marie se tenait dehors près du sépulcre, et pleurait. Comme elle pleurait, elle se baissa pour regarder dans le sépulcre;

¹¹ומרים עמדה בוכיה מחוץ לקבר ויהי בבכותה ותשקף אל תוך הקבר׃

¹²and she beholdeth two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

¹²et elle vit deux anges vêtus de blanc, assis à la place où avait été couché le corps de Jésus, l'un à la tête, l'autre aux pieds.

¹²ותרא שני מלאכים לבושי לבנים ישבים במקום אשר שמו שם את גופת ישוע אחד מראשותיו ואחד מרגלותיו׃

¹³And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

¹³Ils lui dirent: Femme, pourquoi pleures-tu? Elle leur répondit: Parce qu'ils ont enlevé mon Seigneur, et je ne sais où ils l'ont mis.

¹³ויאמרו אליה אשה למה תבכי ותאמר אליהם כי נשאו מזה את אדני ולא ידעתי איפה הניחהו׃

¹⁴When she had thus said, she turned herself back, and beholdeth Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

¹⁴En disant cela, elle se retourna, et elle vit Jésus debout; mais elle ne savait pas que c'était Jésus.

¹⁴ויהי בדברה זאת ותפן אחריה ותרא את ישוע עמד ולא ידעה כי הוא ישוע׃

¹⁵Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou hast borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

¹⁵Jésus lui dit: Femme, pourquoi pleures-tu? Qui cherches-tu? Elle, pensant que c'était le jardinier, lui dit: Seigneur, si c'est toi qui l'as emporté, dis-moi où tu l'as mis, et je le prendrai.

¹⁵ויאמר אליה ישוע אשה למה תבכי את מי תבקשי והיא חשבה כי הוא שמר הגן ותאמר אליו אדני אם אתה נשאת אתו מזה הגידה נא לי איפה הנחתו ולקחתיו משם׃

¹⁶Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turneth herself, and saith unto him in Hebrew, Rabboni; which is to say, Teacher.

¹⁶Jésus lui dit: Marie! Elle se retourna, et lui dit en hébreu: Rabbouni! c'est-à-dire, Maître!

¹⁶ויאמר אליה ישוע מרים ותפן ותאמר אליו רבוני הוא מורה׃

¹⁷Jesus saith to her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended unto the Father: but go unto my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.

¹⁷Jésus lui dit: Ne me touche pas; car je ne suis pas encore monté vers mon Père. Mais va trouver mes frères, et dis-leur que je monte vers mon Père et votre Père, vers mon Dieu et votre Dieu.

¹⁷ויאמר אליה ישוע אל תגעי בי כי עוד לא עליתי אל אבי אך לכי נא אל אחי ואמרי אליהם אני עלה אל אבי ואביכם ואל אלהי ואלהיכם׃

¹⁸Mary Magdalene cometh and telleth the disciples, I have seen the Lord; and [that] he had said these things unto her.

¹⁸Marie de Magdala alla annoncer aux disciples qu'elle avait vu le Seigneur, et qu'il lui avait dit ces choses.

¹⁸ותבא מרים המגדלית ותספר אל התלמידים כי ראתה את האדון וכזאת דבר אליה׃

¹⁹When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first [day] of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you.

¹⁹Le soir de ce jour, qui était le premier de la semaine, les portes du lieu où se trouvaient les disciples étant fermées, à cause de la crainte qu'ils avaient des Juifs, Jésus vint, se présenta au milieu d'eux, et leur dit: La paix soit avec vous!

¹⁹ויהי לעת ערב ביום ההוא והוא אחד בשבת כאשר נסגרו דלתות הבית אשר נקבצו שם התלמידים מיראת היהודים ויבא ישוע ויעמד ביניהם ויאמר אליהם שלום לכם׃

²⁰And when he had said this, he showed unto them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord.

²⁰Et quand il eut dit cela, il leur montra ses mains et son côté. Les disciples furent dans la joie en voyant le Seigneur.

²⁰ובדברו זאת הראה אתם את ידיו ואת צדו וישמחו התלמידים בראותם את האדון׃

²¹Jesus therefore said to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

²¹Jésus leur dit de nouveau: La paix soit avec vous! Comme le Père m'a envoyé, moi aussi je vous envoie.

²¹ויסף ישוע לדבר אליהם שלום לכם כאשר שלח אתי האב כן אנכי שלח אתכם׃

²²And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit:

²²Après ces paroles, il souffla sur eux, et leur dit: Recevez le Saint-Esprit.

²²ויהי בדברו זאת ויפח בהם ויאמר אליהם קחו לכם את רוח הקדש׃

²³whose soever sins ye forgive, they are forgiven unto them; whose soever [sins] ye retain, they are retained.

²³Ceux à qui vous pardonnerez les péchés, ils leur seront pardonnés; et ceux à qui vous les retiendrez, ils leur seront retenus.

²³והיה כל אשר תסלחו את חטאתם ונסלח להם ואשר תאשימו יאשמו׃

²⁴But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

²⁴Thomas, appelé Didyme, l'un des douze, n'était pas avec eux lorsque Jésus vint.

²⁴ותומא אחד משנים העשר הנקרא דידומוס לא היה בתוכם כבוא ישוע׃

²⁵The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.

²⁵Les autres disciples lui dirent donc: Nous avons vu le Seigneur. Mais il leur dit: Si je ne vois dans ses mains la marque des clous, et si je ne mets mon doigt dans la marque des clous, et si je ne mets ma main dans son côté, je ne croirai point.

²⁵ויגידו לו התלמידים הנשארים ראה ראינו את האדון ויאמר אליהם אם לא אראה בידיו את רשם המסמרות ואשים את אצבעתי במקום המסמרות ואשים את ידי בצדו לא אאמין׃

²⁶And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace [be] unto you.

²⁶Huit jours après, les disciples de Jésus étaient de nouveau dans la maison, et Thomas se trouvait avec eux. Jésus vint, les portes étant fermées, se présenta au milieu d'eux, et dit: La paix soit avec vous!

²⁶ויהי מקצה שמונת ימים ותלמידיו שנית פנימה ותומא עמהם ויבא ישוע והדלתות מסגרות ויעמד ביניהם ויאמר שלום לכם׃

²⁷Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and see my hands; and reach [hither] thy hand, and put it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

²⁷Puis il dit à Thomas: Avance ici ton doigt, et regarde mes mains; avance aussi ta main, et mets-la dans mon côté; et ne sois pas incrédule, mais crois.

²⁷ואחר אמר אל תומא שלח אצבעך הנה וראה את ידי ושלח את ידך הנה ושים בצדי ואל תהי חסר אמונה כי אם מאמין׃

²⁸Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

²⁸Thomas lui répondit: Mon Seigneur et mon Dieu!

²⁸ויען תומא ויאמר אליו אדני ואלהי׃

²⁹Jesus saith unto him, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed.

²⁹Jésus lui dit: Parce que tu m'as vu, tu as cru. Heureux ceux qui n'ont pas vu, et qui ont cru!

²⁹ויאמר אליו ישוע יען ראית אתי האמנת אשרי המאמינים ואינם ראים׃

³⁰Many other signs therefore did Jesus in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book:

³⁰Jésus a fait encore, en présence de ses disciples, beaucoup d'autres miracles, qui ne sont pas écrits dans ce livre.

³⁰והנה גם אתות אחרים רבים עשה ישוע לעיני תלמידיו אשר לא נכתבו בספר הזה׃

³¹but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name.

³¹Mais ces choses ont été écrites afin que vous croyiez que Jésus est le Christ, le Fils de Dieu, et qu'en croyant vous ayez la vie en son nom.

³¹אך אלה נכתבו למען תאמינו כי ישוע הוא המשיח בן אלהים ולמען יהיו לכם המאמינים חיי עולם בשמו׃
