¹Now Joshua was old and well stricken in years; and Jehovah said unto him, Thou art old and well stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

¹Josué était vieux, avancé en âge. L'Eternel lui dit alors: Tu es devenu vieux, tu es avancé en âge, et le pays qui te reste à soumettre est très grand.

¹ויהושע זקן בא בימים ויאמר יהוה אליו אתה זקנתה באת בימים והארץ נשארה הרבה מאד לרשתה׃

²This is the land that yet remaineth: all the regions of the Philistines, and all the Geshurites;

²Voici le pays qui reste: tous les districts des Philistins et tout le territoire des Gueschuriens,

²זאת הארץ הנשארת כל גלילות הפלשתים וכל הגשורי׃

³from the Shihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the border of Ekron northward, [which] is reckoned to the Canaanites; the five lords of the Philistines; the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avvim,

³depuis le Schichor qui coule devant l'Egypte jusqu'à la frontière d'Ekron au nord, contrée qui doit être tenue pour cananéenne, et qui est occupée par les cinq princes des Philistins, celui de Gaza, celui d'Asdod, celui d'Askalon, celui de Gath et celui d'Ekron, et par les Avviens;

³מן השיחור אשר על פני מצרים ועד גבול עקרון צפונה לכנעני תחשב חמשת סרני פלשתים העזתי והאשדודי האשקלוני הגתי והעקרוני והעוים׃

⁴on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongeth to the Sidonians, unto Aphek, to the border of the Amorites;

⁴partir du midi, tout le pays des Cananéens, et Meara qui est aux Sidoniens, jusqu'à Aphek, jusqu'à la frontière des Amoréens;

⁴מתימן כל ארץ הכנעני ומערה אשר לצידנים עד אפקה עד גבול האמרי׃

⁵and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baal-gad under mount Hermon unto the entrance of Hamath;

⁵le pays des Guibliens, et tout le Liban vers le soleil levant, depuis Baal-Gad au pied de la montagne d'Hermon jusqu'à l'entrée de Hamath;

⁵והארץ הגבלי וכל הלבנון מזרח השמש מבעל גד תחת הר חרמון עד לבוא חמת׃

⁶all the inhabitants of the hill-country from Lebanon unto Misrephoth-maim, even all the Sidonians; them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only allot thou it unto Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

⁶tous les habitants de la montagne, depuis le Liban jusqu'à Misrephoth-Maïm, tous les Sidoniens. Je les chasserai devant les enfants d'Israël. Donne seulement ce pays en héritage par le sort à Israël, comme je te l'ai prescrit;

⁶כל ישבי ההר מן הלבנון עד משרפת מים כל צידנים אנכי אורישם מפני בני ישראל רק הפלה לישראל בנחלה כאשר צויתיך׃

⁷Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

⁷et divise maintenant ce pays par portions entre les neuf tribus et la demi-tribu de Manassé.

⁷ועתה חלק את הארץ הזאת בנחלה לתשעת השבטים וחצי השבט המנשה׃

⁸With him the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them:

⁸Les Rubénites et les Gadites, avec l'autre moitié de la tribu de Manassé, ont reçu leur héritage, que Moïse leur a donné de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'orient, comme le leur a donné Moïse, serviteur de l'Eternel:

⁸עמו הראובני והגדי לקחו נחלתם אשר נתן להם משה בעבר הירדן מזרחה כאשר נתן להם משה עבד יהוה׃

⁹from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon;

⁹depuis Aroër sur les bords du torrent de l'Arnon, et depuis la ville qui est au milieu de la vallée, toute la plaine de Médeba, jusqu'à Dibon;

⁹מערוער אשר על שפת נחל ארנון והעיר אשר בתוך הנחל וכל המישר מידבא עד דיבון׃

¹⁰and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon;

¹⁰toutes les villes de Sihon, roi des Amoréens, qui régnait à Hesbon, jusqu'à la frontière des enfants d'Ammon;

¹⁰וכל ערי סיחון מלך האמרי אשר מלך בחשבון עד גבול בני עמון׃

¹¹and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salecah;

¹¹Galaad, le territoire des Gueschuriens et des Maacathiens, toute la montagne d'Hermon, et tout Basan, jusqu'à Salca;

¹¹והגלעד וגבול הגשורי והמעכתי וכל הר חרמון וכל הבשן עד סלכה׃

¹²all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (the same was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); for these did Moses smite, and drove them out.

¹²tout le royaume d'Og en Basan, qui régnait à Aschtaroth et à Edréï, et qui était le seul reste des Rephaïm. Moïse battit ces rois, et les chassa.

¹²כל ממלכות עוג בבשן אשר מלך בעשתרות ובאדרעי הוא נשאר מיתר הרפאים ויכם משה וירשם׃

¹³Nevertheless the children of Israel drove not out the Geshurites, nor the Maacathites: but Geshur and Maacath dwell in the midst of Israel unto this day.

¹³Mais les enfants d'Israël ne chassèrent point les Gueschuriens et les Maacathiens, qui ont habité au milieu d'Israël jusqu'à ce jour.

¹³ולא הורישו בני ישראל את הגשורי ואת המעכתי וישב גשור ומעכת בקרב ישראל עד היום הזה׃

¹⁴Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave no inheritance; the offerings of Jehovah, the God of Israel, made by fire are his inheritance, as he spake unto him.

¹⁴La tribu de Lévi fut la seule à laquelle Moïse ne donna point d'héritage; les sacrifices consumés par le feu devant l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, tel fut son héritage, comme il le lui avait dit.

¹⁴רק לשבט הלוי לא נתן נחלה אשי יהוה אלהי ישראל הוא נחלתו כאשר דבר לו׃

¹⁵And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families.

¹⁵Moïse avait donné à la tribu des fils de Ruben une part selon leurs familles.

¹⁵ויתן משה למטה בני ראובן למשפחתם׃

¹⁶And their border was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain by Medeba;

¹⁶Ils eurent pour territoire, à partir d'Aroër sur les bords du torrent d'Arnon, et de la ville qui est au milieu de la vallée, toute la plaine près de Médeba,

¹⁶ויהי להם הגבול מערוער אשר על שפת נחל ארנון והעיר אשר בתוך הנחל וכל המישר על מידבא׃

¹⁷Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon,

¹⁷Hesbon et toutes ses villes dans la plaine, Dibon, Bamoth-Baal, Beth-Baal-Meon,

¹⁷חשבון וכל עריה אשר במישר דיבון ובמות בעל ובית בעל מעון׃

¹⁸and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

¹⁸Jahats, Kedémoth, Méphaath,

¹⁸ויהצה וקדמת ומפעת׃

¹⁹and Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar in the mount of the valley,

¹⁹Kirjathaïm, Sibma, Tséreth-Haschachar sur la montagne de la vallée,

¹⁹וקריתים ושבמה וצרת השחר בהר העמק׃

²⁰and Beth-peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth,

²⁰Beth-Peor, les coteaux du Pisga, Beth-Jeschimoth,

²⁰ובית פעור ואשדות הפסגה ובית הישמות׃

²¹and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, that dwelt in the land.

²¹toutes les villes de la plaine, et tout le royaume de Sihon, roi des Amoréens, qui régnait à Hesbon: Moïse l'avait battu, lui et les princes de Madian, Evi, Rékem, Tsur, Hur et Réba, princes qui relevaient de Sihon et qui habitaient dans le pays.

²¹וכל ערי המישר וכל ממלכות סיחון מלך האמרי אשר מלך בחשבון אשר הכה משה אתו ואת נשיאי מדין את אוי ואת רקם ואת צור ואת חור ואת רבע נסיכי סיחון ישבי הארץ׃

²²Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among the rest of their slain.

²²Parmi ceux que tuèrent les enfants d'Israël, ils avaient aussi fait périr avec l'épée le devin Balaam, fils de Beor.

²²ואת בלעם בן בעור הקוסם הרגו בני ישראל בחרב אל חלליהם׃

²³And the border of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and the border [thereof]. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

²³Le Jourdain servait de limite au territoire des fils de Ruben. Voilà l'héritage des fils de Ruben selon leurs familles; les villes et leurs villages.

²³ויהי גבול בני ראובן הירדן וגבול זאת נחלת בני ראובן למשפחתם הערים וחצריהן׃

²⁴And Moses gave unto the tribe of Gad, unto the children of Gad, according to their families.

²⁴Moïse avait donné à la tribu de Gad, aux fils de Gad, une part selon leurs familles.

²⁴ויתן משה למטה גד לבני גד למשפחתם׃

²⁵And their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that is before Rabbah;

²⁵Ils eurent pour territoire Jaezer, toutes les villes de Galaad, la moitié du pays des enfants d'Ammon jusqu'à Aroër vis-à-vis de Rabba,

²⁵ויהי להם הגבול יעזר וכל ערי הגלעד וחצי ארץ בני עמון עד ערוער אשר על פני רבה׃

²⁶and from Heshbon unto Ramath-mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir;

²⁶depuis Hesbon jusqu'à Ramath-Mitspé et Bethonim, depuis Mahanaïm jusqu'à la frontière de Debir,

²⁶ומחשבון עד רמת המצפה ובטנים וממחנים עד גבול לדבר׃

²⁷and in the valley, Beth-haram, and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and the border [thereof], unto the uttermost part of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.

²⁷et, dans la vallée, Beth-Haram, Beth-Nimra, Succoth et Tsaphon, reste du royaume de Sihon, roi de Hesbon, ayant le Jourdain pour limite jusqu'à l'extrémité de la mer de Kinnéreth de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'orient.

²⁷ובעמק בית הרם ובית נמרה וסכות וצפון יתר ממלכות סיחון מלך חשבון הירדן וגבל עד קצה ים כנרת עבר הירדן מזרחה׃

²⁸This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

²⁸Voilà l'héritage des fils de Gad selon leurs familles; les villes et leurs villages.

²⁸זאת נחלת בני גד למשפחתם הערים וחצריהם׃

²⁹And Moses gave [inheritance] unto the half-tribe of Manasseh: and it was for the half-tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

²⁹Moïse avait donné à la demi-tribu de Manassé, aux fils de Manassé, une part selon leurs familles.

²⁹ויתן משה לחצי שבט מנשה ויהי לחצי מטה בני מנשה למשפחותם׃

³⁰And their border was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, threescore cities:

³⁰Ils eurent pour territoire, à partir de Mahanaïm, tout Basan, tout le royaume d'Og, roi de Basan, et tous les bourgs de Jaïr en Basan, soixante villes.

³⁰ויהי גבולם ממחנים כל הבשן כל ממלכות עוג מלך הבשן וכל חות יאיר אשר בבשן ששים עיר׃

³¹and half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the children of Machir according to their families.

³¹La moitié de Galaad, Aschtaroth et Edréï, villes du royaume d'Og en Basan, échurent aux fils de Makir, fils de Manassé, à la moitié des fils de Makir, selon leurs familles.

³¹וחצי הגלעד ועשתרות ואדרעי ערי ממלכות עוג בבשן לבני מכיר בן מנשה לחצי בני מכיר למשפחותם׃

³²These are the inheritances which Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan at Jericho, eastward.

³²Telles sont les parts que fit Moïse, lorsqu'il était dans les plaines de Moab, de l'autre côté du Jourdain, vis-à-vis de Jéricho, à l'orient.

³²אלה אשר נחל משה בערבות מואב מעבר לירדן יריחו מזרחה׃

³³But unto the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance: Jehovah, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he spake unto them.

³³Moïse ne donna point d'héritage à la tribu de Lévi; l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël, tel fut son héritage, comme il le lui avait dit.

³³ולשבט הלוי לא נתן משה נחלה יהוה אלהי ישראל הוא נחלתם כאשר דבר להם׃
