¹And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled themselves together at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there: and the land was subdued before them.

¹Toute l'assemblée des enfants d'Israël se réunit à Silo, et ils y placèrent la tente d'assignation. Le pays était soumis devant eux.

¹ויקהלו כל עדת בני ישראל שלה וישכינו שם את אהל מועד והארץ נכבשה לפניהם׃

²And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet divided their inheritance.

²Il restait sept tribus des enfants d'Israël qui n'avaient pas encore reçu leur héritage.

²ויותרו בבני ישראל אשר לא חלקו את נחלתם שבעה שבטים׃

³And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go in to possess the land, which Jehovah, the God of your fathers, hath given you?

³Josué dit aux enfants d'Israël: Jusques à quand négligerez-vous de prendre possession du pays que l'Eternel, le Dieu de vos pères, vous a donné?

³ויאמר יהושע אל בני ישראל עד אנה אתם מתרפים לבוא לרשת את הארץ אשר נתן לכם יהוה אלהי אבותיכם׃

⁴Appoint for you three men of each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall arise, and walk through the land, and describe it according to their inheritance; and they shall come unto me.

⁴Choisissez trois hommes par tribu, et je les ferai partir. Ils se lèveront, parcourront le pays, traceront un plan en vue du partage, et reviendront auprès de moi.

⁴הבו לכם שלשה אנשים לשבט ואשלחם ויקמו ויתהלכו בארץ ויכתבו אותה לפי נחלתם ויבאו אלי׃

⁵And they shall divide it into seven portions: Judah shall abide in his border on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their border on the north.

⁵Ils le diviseront en sept parts; Juda restera dans ses limites au midi, et la maison de Joseph restera dans ses limites au nord.

⁵והתחלקו אתה לשבעה חלקים יהודה יעמד על גבולו מנגב ובית יוסף יעמדו על גבולם מצפון׃

⁶And ye shall describe the land into seven portions, and bring [the description] hither to me; and I will cast lots for you here before Jehovah our God.

⁶Vous donc, vous tracerez un plan du pays en sept parts, et vous me l'apporterez ici. Je jetterai pour vous le sort devant l'Eternel, notre Dieu.

⁶ואתם תכתבו את הארץ שבעה חלקים והבאתם אלי הנה ויריתי לכם גורל פה לפני יהוה אלהינו׃

⁷For the Levites have no portion among you; for the priesthood of Jehovah is their inheritance: and Gad and Reuben and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave them.

⁷Mais il n'y aura point de part pour les Lévites au milieu de vous, car le sacerdoce de l'Eternel est leur héritage; et Gad, Ruben et la demi-tribu de Manassé ont reçu leur héritage, que Moïse, serviteur de l'Eternel, leur a donné de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'orient.

⁷כי אין חלק ללוים בקרבכם כי כהנת יהוה נחלתו וגד וראובן וחצי שבט המנשה לקחו נחלתם מעבר לירדן מזרחה אשר נתן להם משה עבד יהוה׃

⁸And the men arose, and went: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me; and I will cast lots for you here before Jehovah in Shiloh.

⁸Lorsque ces hommes se levèrent et partirent pour tracer un plan du pays, Josué leur donna cet ordre: Allez, parcourez le pays, tracez-en un plan, et revenez auprès de moi; puis je jetterai pour vous le sort devant l'Eternel, à Silo.

⁸ויקמו האנשים וילכו ויצו יהושע את ההלכים לכתב את הארץ לאמר לכו והתהלכו בארץ וכתבו אותה ושובו אלי ופה אשליך לכם גורל לפני יהוה בשלה׃

⁹And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven portions in a book; and they came to Joshua unto the camp at Shiloh.

⁹Ces hommes partirent, parcoururent le pays, et en tracèrent d'après les villes un plan en sept parts, dans un livre; et ils revinrent auprès de Josué dans le camp à Silo.

⁹וילכו האנשים ויעברו בארץ ויכתבוה לערים לשבעה חלקים על ספר ויבאו אל יהושע אל המחנה שלה׃

¹⁰And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before Jehovah: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.

¹⁰Josué jeta pour eux le sort à Silo devant l'Eternel, et il fit le partage du pays entre les enfants d'Israël, en donnant à chacun sa portion.

¹⁰וישלך להם יהושע גורל בשלה לפני יהוה ויחלק שם יהושע את הארץ לבני ישראל כמחלקתם׃

¹¹And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the border of their lot went out between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.

¹¹Le sort tomba sur la tribu des fils de Benjamin, selon leurs familles, et la part qui leur échut par le sort avait ses limites entre les fils de Juda et les fils de Joseph.

¹¹ויעל גורל מטה בני בנימן למשפחתם ויצא גבול גורלם בין בני יהודה ובין בני יוסף׃

¹²And their border on the north quarter was from the Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north, and went up through the hill-country westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Beth-aven.

¹²Du côté septentrional, leur limite partait du Jourdain. Elle montait au nord de Jéricho, s'élevait dans la montagne vers l'occident, et aboutissait au désert de Beth-Aven.

¹²ויהי להם הגבול לפאת צפונה מן הירדן ועלה הגבול אל כתף יריחו מצפון ועלה בהר ימה והיה תצאתיו מדברה בית און׃

¹³And the border passed along from thence to Luz, to the side of Luz (the same is Beth-el), southward; and the border went down to Ataroth-addar, by the mountain that lieth on the south of Beth-horon the nether.

¹³Elle passait de là par Luz, au midi de Luz, qui est Béthel, et elle descendait à Atharoth-Addar par-dessus la montagne qui est au midi de Beth-Horon la basse.

¹³ועבר משם הגבול לוזה אל כתף לוזה נגבה היא בית אל וירד הגבול עטרות אדר על ההר אשר מנגב לבית חרון תחתון׃

¹⁴And the border extended [thence], and turned about on the west quarter southward, from the mountain that lieth before Beth-horon southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kiriath-baal (the same is Kiriath-jearim), a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter.

¹⁴Du côté occidental, la limite se prolongeait et tournait au midi depuis la montagne qui est vis-à-vis de Beth-Horon; elle continuait vers le midi, et aboutissait à Kirjath-Baal, qui est Kirjath-Jearim, ville des fils de Juda. C'était le côté occidental.

¹⁴ותאר הגבול ונסב לפאת ים נגבה מן ההר אשר על פני בית חרון נגבה והיה תצאתיו אל קרית בעל היא קרית יערים עיר בני יהודה זאת פאת ים׃

¹⁵And the south quarter was from the uttermost part of Kiriath-jearim; and the border went out westward, and went out to the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah;

¹⁵Le côté méridional commençait à l'extrémité de Kirjath-Jearim. La limite se prolongeait vers l'occident jusqu'à la source des eaux de Nephthoach.

¹⁵ופאת נגבה מקצה קרית יערים ויצא הגבול ימה ויצא אל מעין מי נפתוח׃

¹⁶and the border went down to the uttermost part of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is in the vale of Rephaim northward; and it went down to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of the Jebusite southward, and went down to En-rogel;

¹⁶Elle descendait à l'extrémité de la montagne qui est vis-à-vis de la vallée de Ben-Hinnom, dans la vallée des Rephaïm au nord. Elle descendait par la vallée de Hinnom, sur le côté méridional des Jébusiens, jusqu'à En-Roguel.

¹⁶וירד הגבול אל קצה ההר אשר על פני גי בן הנם אשר בעמק רפאים צפונה וירד גי הנם אל כתף היבוסי נגבה וירד עין רגל׃

¹⁷and it extended northward, and went out at En-shemesh, and went out to Geliloth, which is over against the ascent of Adummim; and it went down to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben;

¹⁷Elle se dirigeait vers le nord à En-Schémesch, puis à Gueliloth, qui est vis-à-vis de la montée d'Adummim, et elle descendait à la pierre de Bohan, fils de Ruben.

¹⁷ותאר מצפון ויצא עין שמש ויצא אל גלילות אשר נכח מעלה אדמים וירד אבן בהן בן ראובן׃

¹⁸and it passed along to the side over against the Arabah northward, and went down unto the Arabah;

¹⁸Elle passait sur le côté septentrional en face d'Araba, descendait à Araba,

¹⁸ועבר אל כתף מול הערבה צפונה וירד הערבתה׃

¹⁹and the border passed along to the side of Beth-hoglah northward; and the goings out of the border were at the north bay of the Salt Sea, at the south end of the Jordan: this was the south border.

¹⁹et continuait sur le côté septentrional de Beth-Hogla, pour aboutir à la langue septentrionale de la mer Salée, vers l'embouchure du Jourdain au midi. C'était la limite méridionale.

¹⁹ועבר הגבול אל כתף בית חגלה צפונה והיה תצאותיו הגבול אל לשון ים המלח צפונה אל קצה הירדן נגבה זה גבול נגב׃

²⁰And the Jordan was the border of it on the east quarter. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the borders thereof round about, according to their families.

²⁰Du côté oriental, le Jourdain formait la limite. Tel fut l'héritage des fils de Benjamin, selon leurs familles, avec ses limites de tous les côtés.

²⁰והירדן יגבל אתו לפאת קדמה זאת נחלת בני בנימן לגבולתיה סביב למשפחתם׃

²¹Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Beth-hoglah, and Emek-keziz,

²¹Les villes de la tribu des fils de Benjamin, selon leurs familles, étaient: Jéricho, Beth-Hogla, Emek-Ketsits,

²¹והיו הערים למטה בני בנימן למשפחותיהם יריחו ובית חגלה ועמק קציץ׃

²²and Beth-arabah, and Zemaraim, and Beth-el,

²²Beth-Araba, Tsemaraïm, Béthel,

²²ובית הערבה וצמרים ובית אל׃

²³and Avvim, and Parah, and Ophrah,

²³Avvim, Para, Ophra,

²³והעוים והפרה ועפרה׃

²⁴and Chephar-ammoni, and Ophni, and Geba; twelve cities with their villages:

²⁴Kephar-Ammonaï, Ophni et Guéba; douze villes, et leurs villages.

²⁴וכפר העמני והעפני וגבע ערים שתים עשרה וחצריהן׃

²⁵Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,

²⁵Gabaon, Rama, Beéroth,

²⁵גבעון והרמה ובארות׃

²⁶and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,

²⁶Mitspé, Kephira, Motsa,

²⁶והמצפה והכפירה והמצה׃

²⁷and Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,

²⁷Rékem, Jirpeel, Thareala,

²⁷ורקם וירפאל ותראלה׃

²⁸and Zelah, Eleph, and the Jebusite (the same is Jerusalem), Gibeath, [and] Kiriath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.

²⁸Tséla, Eleph, Jebus, qui est Jérusalem, Guibeath, et Kirjath; quatorze villes, et leurs villages. Tel fut l'héritage des fils de Benjamin, selon leurs familles.

²⁸וצלע האלף והיבוסי היא ירושלם גבעת קרית ערים ארבע עשרה וחצריהן זאת נחלת בני בנימן למשפחתם׃
