¹Now there were some present at that very season who told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

¹En ce même temps, quelques personnes qui se trouvaient là racontaient à Jésus ce qui était arrivé à des Galiléens dont Pilate avait mêlé le sang avec celui de leurs sacrifices.

¹ויבאו אנשים בעת ההיא ויגידו לו על דבר הגלילים אשר פילטוס ערב דמם עם זבחיהם׃

²And he answered and said unto them, Think ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they have suffered these things?

²Il leur répondit: Croyez-vous que ces Galiléens fussent de plus grands pécheurs que tous les autres Galiléens, parce qu'ils ont souffert de la sorte?

²ויען ישוע ויאמר אליהם החשבים אתם כי הגלילים האלה היו חטאים מכל אנשי הגליל על אשר באה כזאת עליהם׃

³I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all in like manner perish.

³Non, je vous le dis. Mais si vous ne vous repentez, vous périrez tous également.

³לא כי אמר אני לכם אם לא תשובו תאבדו כלכם גם אתם׃

⁴Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, think ye that they were offenders above all the men that dwell in Jerusalem?

⁴Ou bien, ces dix-huit personnes sur qui est tombée la tour de Siloé et qu'elle a tuées, croyez-vous qu'elles fussent plus coupables que tous les autres habitants de Jérusalem?

⁴או שמנה העשר ההם אשר נפל עליהם המגדל בשלח וימיתם החשבים אתם כי היו אשמים מכל האנשים הישבים בירושלים׃

⁵I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

⁵Non, je vous le dis. Mais si vous ne vous repentez, vous périrez tous également.

⁵לא כי אמר אני לכם אם לא תשובו תאבדו כלכם גם אתם׃

⁶And he spake this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit thereon, and found none.

⁶Il dit aussi cette parabole: Un homme avait un figuier planté dans sa vigne. Il vint pour y chercher du fruit, et il n'en trouva point.

⁶וישא משלו ויאמר איש אחד היתה לו תאנה נטועה בכרמו ויבא לבקש בה פרי ולא מצא׃

⁷And he said unto the vinedresser, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why doth it also cumber the ground?

⁷Alors il dit au vigneron: Voilà trois ans que je viens chercher du fruit à ce figuier, et je n'en trouve point. Coupe-le: pourquoi occupe-t-il la terre inutilement?

⁷ויאמר אל הכרם הנה זה שלש שנים אנכי בא לבקש פרי בתאנה הזאת ואינני מוצא גדע אותה למה זה תשחית את האדמה׃

⁸And he answering saith unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

⁸Le vigneron lui répondit: Seigneur, laisse-le encore cette année; je creuserai tout autour, et j'y mettrai du fumier.

⁸ויען ויאמר אליו אדני הניחה אתה עוד השנה הזאת עד כי אעדר ושמתי דמן סביבותיה׃

⁹and if it bear fruit thenceforth, [well]; but if not, thou shalt cut it down.

⁹Peut-être à l'avenir donnera-t-il du fruit; sinon, tu le couperas.

⁹אולי תעשה פרי ואם לא בשנה הבאה תגדענה׃

¹⁰And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath day.

¹⁰Jésus enseignait dans une des synagogues, le jour du sabbat.

¹⁰ויהי הוא מלמד בשבת באחד מבתי הכנסיות׃

¹¹And behold, a woman that had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bowed together, and could in no wise lift herself up.

¹¹Et voici, il y avait là une femme possédée d'un esprit qui la rendait infirme depuis dix-huit ans; elle était courbée, et ne pouvait pas du tout se redresser.

¹¹והנה אשה טעונת רוח חלי כשמנה עשרה שנה ותהי כפופה ולא יכלה לקום קומה זקופה׃

¹²And when Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

¹²Lorsqu'il la vit, Jésus lui adressa la parole, et lui dit: Femme, tu es délivrée de ton infirmité.

¹²ויהי בראות אתה ישוע ויקרא אליה ויאמר לה אשה החלצי מחליך׃

¹³And he laid his hands upon her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

¹³Et il lui imposa les mains. A l'instant elle se redressa, et glorifia Dieu.

¹³וישם את ידיו עליה וכרגע קמה ותתעודד ותשבח את האלהים׃

¹⁴And the ruler of the synagogue, being moved with indignation because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, answered and said to the multitude, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the day of the sabbath.

¹⁴Mais le chef de la synagogue, indigné de ce que Jésus avait opéré cette guérison un jour de sabbat, dit à la foule: Il y a six jours pour travailler; venez donc vous faire guérir ces jours-là, et non pas le jour du sabbat.

¹⁴ויכעס ראש הכנסת על אשר רפא ישוע בשבת ויען ויאמר אל העם ששת ימים הם אשר תעשה בהם מלאכה לכן באלה באו והרפאו ולא ביום השבת׃

¹⁵But the Lord answered him, and said, Ye hypocrites, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

¹⁵Hypocrites! lui répondit le Seigneur, est-ce que chacun de vous, le jour du sabbat, ne détache pas de la crèche son boeuf ou son âne, pour le mener boire?

¹⁵ויען האדון ויאמר אליו החנף איש איש מכם הלא יתיר בשבת את שורו או את חמרו מן האבוס ויוליכהו להשקתו׃

¹⁶And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, lo, [these] eighteen years, to have been loosed from this bond on the day of the sabbath?

¹⁶Et cette femme, qui est une fille d'Abraham, et que Satan tenait liée depuis dix-huit ans, ne fallait-il pas la délivrer de cette chaîne le jour du sabbat?

¹⁶וזאת אשר היא בת אברהם ואשר השטן אסרה זה שמנה עשרה שנה הלא תתר ממוסרותיה ביום השבת׃

¹⁷And as he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame: and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

¹⁷Tandis qu'il parlait ainsi, tous ses adversaires étaient confus, et la foule se réjouissait de toutes les choses glorieuses qu'il faisait.

¹⁷ויהי כאמרו את הדברים האלה נכלמו כל מתקוממיו וישמח כל העם על כל הנפלאות הנעשות על ידו׃

¹⁸He said therefore, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I liken it?

¹⁸Il dit encore: A quoi le royaume de Dieu est-il semblable, et à quoi le comparerai-je?

¹⁸ויאמר למה דומה מלכות האלהים ואל מה אמשילנה׃

¹⁹It is like unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his own garden; and it grew, and became a tree; and the birds of the heaven lodged in the branches thereof.

¹⁹Il est semblable à un grain de sénevé qu'un homme a pris et jeté dans son jardin; il pousse, devient un arbre, et les oiseaux du ciel habitent dans ses branches.

¹⁹דומה היא לגרגר של חרדל אשר לקחו איש וישימהו בגנו ויצמח ויהי לעץ גדול ועוף השמים יקנן בענפיו׃

²⁰And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?

²⁰Il dit encore: A quoi comparerai-je le royaume de Dieu?

²⁰ויאמר עוד אל מה אדמה את מלכות האלהים׃

²¹It is like unto leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till it was all leavened.

²¹Il est semblable à du levain qu'une femme a pris et mis dans trois mesures de farine, pour faire lever toute la pâte.

²¹דומה היא לשאר אשר לקחתו אשה ותטמנהו בשלש סאים קמח עד כי יחמץ כלו׃

²²And he went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and journeying on unto Jerusalem.

²²Jésus traversait les villes et les villages, enseignant, et faisant route vers Jérusalem.

²²ויעבר בערים ובכפרים עבור ולמד וישם את דרכו לבוא ירושלים׃

²³And one said unto him, Lord, are they few that are saved? And he said unto them,

²³Quelqu'un lui dit: Seigneur, n'y a-t-il que peu de gens qui soient sauvés? Il leur répondit:

²³וישאלהו איש לאמר אדנינו המעט הם הנושעים׃

²⁴Strive to enter in by the narrow door: for many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

²⁴Efforcez-vous d'entrer par la porte étroite. Car, je vous le dis, beaucoup chercheront à entrer, et ne le pourront pas.

²⁴ויאמר אליהם התאמצו לבוא בפתח הצר כי אמר אני לכם רבים יבקשו לבוא ולא יוכלו׃

²⁵When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us; and he shall answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are;

²⁵Quand le maître de la maison se sera levé et aura fermé la porte, et que vous, étant dehors, vous commencerez à frapper à la porte, en disant: Seigneur, Seigneur, ouvre-nous! il vous répondra: Je ne sais d'où vous êtes.

²⁵והיה מיום אשר יקום בעל הבית וסגר את הדלת ותחלו לעמד בחוץ ולדפק על הדלת לאמר אדנינו אדנינו פתח לנו וענה ואמר אליכם אינני יודע אתכם מאין אתם׃

²⁶then shall ye begin to say, We did eat and drink in thy presence, and thou didst teach in our streets;

²⁶Alors vous vous mettrez à dire: Nous avons mangé et bu devant toi, et tu as enseigné dans nos rues.

²⁶אז תחלו לאמר אכלנו ושתינו לפניך וברחבותינו למדת׃

²⁷and he shall say, I tell you, I know not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

²⁷Et il répondra: Je vous le dis, je ne sais d'où vous êtes; retirez-vous de moi, vous tous, ouvriers d'iniquité.

²⁷ויאמר אני אמר לכם אינני יודע אתכם מאין אתם סורו ממני כל פעלי האון׃

²⁸There shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves cast forth without.

²⁸C'est là qu'il y aura des pleurs et des grincements de dents, quand vous verrez Abraham, Isaac et Jacob, et tous les prophètes, dans le royaume de Dieu, et que vous serez jetés dehors.

²⁸ושם תהיה היללה וחרק השנים כאשר תראו את אברהם ויצחק ויעקב ואת כל הנביאים במלכות האלהים ואתם מגרשים החוצה׃

²⁹And they shall come from the east and west, and from the north and south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

²⁹Il en viendra de l'orient et de l'occident, du nord et du midi; et ils se mettront à table dans le royaume de Dieu.

²⁹ויבאו ממזרח וממערב ומצפון ומדרום ויסבו במלכות האלהים׃

³⁰And behold, there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last.

³⁰Et voici, il y en a des derniers qui seront les premiers, et des premiers qui seront les derniers.

³⁰והנה יש אחרונים אשר יהיו ראשונים וראשונים אשר יהיו אחרונים׃

³¹In that very hour there came certain Pharisees, saying to him, Get thee out, and go hence: for Herod would fain kill thee.

³¹Ce même jour, quelques pharisiens vinrent lui dire: Va-t'en, pars d'ici, car Hérode veut te tuer.

³¹ביום ההוא נגשו מן הפרושים ויאמרו אליו צא ולך מזה כי הורדוס מבקש להרגך׃

³²And he said unto them, Go and say to that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures to-day and to-morrow, and the third [day] I am perfected.

³²Il leur répondit: Allez, et dites à ce renard: Voici, je chasse les démons et je fais des guérisons aujourd'hui et demain, et le troisième jour j'aurai fini.

³²ויאמר אליהם לכו ואמרו אל השועל הזה הנני מגרש שדים ופעל רפואות היום ומחר ובשלישי אבא עד קצי׃

³³Nevertheless I must go on my way to-day and to-morrow and the [day] following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

³³Mais il faut que je marche aujourd'hui, demain, et le jour suivant; car il ne convient pas qu'un prophète périsse hors de Jérusalem.

³³אבל הלוך אלך היום ומחר וממחרתו כי לא יתכן אשר יאבד נביא מחוץ לירושלים׃

³⁴O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen [gathereth] her own brood under her wings, and ye would not!

³⁴Jérusalem, Jérusalem, qui tues les prophètes et qui lapides ceux qui te sont envoyés, combien de fois ai-je voulu rassembler tes enfants, comme une poule rassemble sa couvée sous ses ailes, et vous ne l'avez pas voulu!

³⁴ירושלים ירושלים ההרגת את הנביאים והסקלת את הנשלחים אליה כמה פעמים חפצתי לקבץ את בניך כאשר תקבץ התרנגלת את אפרוחיה תחת כנפיה ואתם לא אביתם׃

³⁵Behold, your house is left unto you [desolate]: and I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

³⁵Voici, votre maison vous sera laissée; mais, je vous le dis, vous ne me verrez plus, jusqu'à ce que vous disiez: Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur!

³⁵הנה ביתכם יעזב לכם שמם ואני אמר לכם כי ראה לא תראוני עד בוא העת אשר תאמרו ברוך הבא בשם יהוה׃
