¹Now it came to pass, while the multitude pressed upon him and heard the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;

¹Comme Jésus se trouvait auprès du lac de Génésareth, et que la foule se pressait autour de lui pour entendre la parole de Dieu,

¹ויהי כאשר נדחק המון העם לשמע את דבר האלהים והוא עמד על יד ים גניסר׃

²and he saw two boats standing by the lake: but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

²il vit au bord du lac deux barques, d'où les pêcheurs étaient descendus pour laver leurs filets.

²וירא שתי אניות עמדות על יד הים והדיגים יצאו מהן וידיחו את המכמרות׃

³And he entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the multitudes out of the boat.

³Il monta dans l'une de ces barques, qui était à Simon, et il le pria de s'éloigner un peu de terre. Puis il s'assit, et de la barque il enseignait la foule.

³וירד אל אחת מן האניות אשר היא לשמעון ויבקש ממנו להוליכו מעט מן היבשה אל הים וישב וילמד את העם מתוך האניה׃

⁴And when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

⁴Lorsqu'il eut cessé de parler, il dit à Simon: Avance en pleine eau, et jetez vos filets pour pêcher.

⁴ויכל לדבר ויאמר אל שמעון הוליכה אל עמק הים והורידו את מכמרותיכם לצוד׃

⁵And Simon answered and said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing: but at thy word I will let down the nets.

⁵Simon lui répondit: Maître, nous avons travaillé toute la nuit sans rien prendre; mais, sur ta parole, je jetterai le filet.

⁵ויען שמעון ויאמר אליו מורה כל הלילה יגענו ולא לכדנו מאומה אך על פי דברך אוריד את המכמרת׃

⁶And when they had done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes; and their nets were breaking;

⁶L'ayant jeté, ils prirent une grande quantité de poissons, et leur filet se rompait.

⁶ויעשו כן וילכדו דגים הרבה מאד ותקרע מכמרתם׃

⁷and they beckoned unto their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.

⁷Ils firent signe à leurs compagnons qui étaient dans l'autre barque de venir les aider. Ils vinrent et ils remplirent les deux barques, au point qu'elles enfonçaient.

⁷ויניפו יד אל חבריהם אשר באמיה השנית לבוא אליהם ולעזרם ויבאו וימלאו את שתי האניות עד כי שקעו׃

⁸But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

⁸Quand il vit cela, Simon Pierre tomba aux genoux de Jésus, et dit: Seigneur, retire-toi de moi, parce que je suis un homme pécheur.

⁸ויהי כראות שמעון פטרוס את זאת ויפל לברכי ישוע ויאמר אדני צא נא מעמי כי איש חוטא אנכי׃

⁹For he was amazed, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken;

⁹Car l'épouvante l'avait saisi, lui et tous ceux qui étaient avec lui, à cause de la pêche qu'ils avaient faite.

⁹כי שמה החזיקה אותו ואת כל אשר אתו על ציד הדגים אשר צדו׃

¹⁰and so were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

¹⁰Il en était de même de Jacques et de Jean, fils de Zébédée, les associés de Simon. Alors Jésus dit à Simon: Ne crains point; désormais tu seras pêcheur d'hommes.

¹⁰וכן גם את יעקב ואת יוחנן בני זבדי אשר התחברו עם שמעון ויאמר ישוע אל שמעון אל תירא מעתה צוד תצוד אנשים׃

¹¹And when they had brought their boats to land, they left all, and followed him.

¹¹Et, ayant ramené les barques à terre, ils laissèrent tout, et le suivirent.

¹¹ויוליכו את האניות אל היבשה ויעזבו את הכל וילכו אחריו׃

¹²And it came to pass, while he was in one of the cities, behold, a man full of leprosy: and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

¹²Jésus était dans une des villes; et voici, un homme couvert de lèpre, l'ayant vu, tomba sur sa face, et lui fit cette prière: Seigneur, si tu le veux, tu peux me rendre pur.

¹²ויהי בהיותו באחת הערים והנה איש מלא צרעת וירא את ישוע ויפל על פניו ויתחנן אליו לאמר אדני אם תחפץ תוכל לטהרני׃

¹³And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. And straightway the leprosy departed from him.

¹³Jésus étendit la main, le toucha, et dit: Je le veux, sois pur. Aussitôt la lèpre le quitta.

¹³וישלח את ידו ויגע בו ויאמר חפץ אנכי טהר ופתאם סרה ממנו הצרעת׃

¹⁴And he charged him to tell no man: but go thy way, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

¹⁴Puis il lui ordonna de n'en parler à personne. Mais, dit-il, va te montrer au sacrificateur, et offre pour ta purification ce que Moïse a prescrit, afin que cela leur serve de témoignage.

¹⁴ויעד בו לבלתי ספר לאיש כי אם לך והראה אל הכהן והקרב קרבן על טהרתך כאשר צוה משה לעדות להם׃

¹⁵But so much the more went abroad the report concerning him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed of their infirmities.

¹⁵Sa renommée se répandait de plus en plus, et les gens venaient en foule pour l'entendre et pour être guéris de leurs maladies.

¹⁵ושמעו הולך הלוך וגדל ויקבצו עם רב לשמוע ולהרפא בידו מתחלואיהם׃

¹⁶But he withdrew himself in the deserts, and prayed.

¹⁶Et lui, il se retirait dans les déserts, et priait.

¹⁶והוא סר אל המדברות ויתפלל׃

¹⁷And it came to pass on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was with him to heal.

¹⁷Un jour Jésus enseignait. Des pharisiens et des docteurs de la loi étaient là assis, venus de tous les villages de la Galilée, de la Judée et de Jérusalem; et la puissance du Seigneur se manifestait par des guérisons.

¹⁷ויהי באחד הימים והוא מלמד וישבו שם פרושים ומורי התורה אשר באו מכל כפרי הגליל ומיהודה וירושלים וגבורת יהוה היתה בו לרפוא׃

¹⁸And behold, men bring on a bed a man that was palsied: and they sought to bring him in, and to lay him before him.

¹⁸Et voici, des gens, portant sur un lit un homme qui était paralytique, cherchaient à le faire entrer et à le placer sous ses regards.

¹⁸והנה אנשים נושאים איש במטה והוא נכה אברים ויבקשו להביאו הביתה ולשום לפניו׃

¹⁹And not finding by what [way] they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

¹⁹Comme ils ne savaient par où l'introduire, à cause de la foule, ils montèrent sur le toit, et ils le descendirent par une ouverture, avec son lit, au milieu de l'assemblée, devant Jésus.

¹⁹ולא מצאו דרך להכניסו מרב העם ויעלו הגגה ויורידהו ואת ערשו בין הרעפים לתוך הבית לפני ישוע׃

²⁰And seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

²⁰Voyant leur foi, Jésus dit: Homme, tes péchés te sont pardonnés.

²⁰וירא את אמונתם ויאמר אליו בן אדם נסלחו לך חטאתיך׃

²¹And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

²¹Les scribes et les pharisiens se mirent à raisonner et à dire: Qui est celui-ci, qui profère des blasphèmes? Qui peut pardonner les péchés, si ce n'est Dieu seul?

²¹ויחלו הסופרים והפרושים לחשב מחשבות לאמר מי הוא זה המדבר גדופים מי יוכל לסלח חטאים מבלעדי האלהים לבדו׃

²²But Jesus perceiving their reasonings, answered and said unto them, Why reason ye in your hearts?

²²Jésus, connaissant leurs pensées, prit la parole et leur dit: Quelles pensées avez-vous dans vos coeurs?

²²וידע ישוע את מחשבותם ויען ויאמר אליהם מה אתם חשבים בלבבכם׃

²³Which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?

²³Lequel est le plus aisé, de dire: Tes péchés te sont pardonnés, ou de dire: Lève-toi, et marche?

²³מה הוא הנקל האמר נסלחו לך חטאתיך אם אמר קום והתהלך׃

²⁴But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins (he said unto him that was palsied), I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go unto thy house.

²⁴Or, afin que vous sachiez que le Fils de l'homme a sur la terre le pouvoir de pardonner les péchés: Je te l'ordonne, dit-il au paralytique, lève-toi, prends ton lit, et va dans ta maison.

²⁴אך למען תדעון כי בן האדם יש לו השלטן בארץ לסלח חטאים ויאמר אל נכה האברים אמר אני אליך קום ושא את ערשך ולך לך אל ביתך׃

²⁵And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his house, glorifying God.

²⁵Et, à l'instant, il se leva en leur présence, prit le lit sur lequel il était couché, et s'en alla dans sa maison, glorifiant Dieu.

²⁵וימהר ויקם לעיניהם וישא את משכבו וילך לו אל ביתו מהלל את האלהים וישא את משכבו וילך לו אל ביתו מהלל את האלהים׃

²⁶And amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God; and they were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to-day.

²⁶Tous étaient dans l'étonnement, et glorifiaient Dieu; remplis de crainte, ils disaient: Nous avons vu aujourd'hui des choses étranges.

²⁶ושמה החזיקה את כלם ויברכו את האלהים וימלאו יראה ויאמרו כי נפלאות ראינו היום׃

²⁷And after these things he went forth, and beheld a publican, named Levi, sitting at the place of toll, and said unto him, Follow me.

²⁷Après cela, Jésus sortit, et il vit un publicain, nommé Lévi, assis au lieu des péages. Il lui dit: Suis-moi.

²⁷ויהי אחרי כן ויצא וירא מוכס ושמו לוי יושב בבית המכס ויאמר אליו לכה אחרי׃

²⁸And he forsook all, and rose up and followed him.

²⁸Et, laissant tout, il se leva, et le suivit.

²⁸ויעזב את הכל ויקם וילך אחריו׃

²⁹And Levi made him a great feast in his house: and there was a great multitude of publicans and of others that were sitting at meat with them.

²⁹Lévi lui donna un grand festin dans sa maison, et beaucoup de publicains et d'autres personnes étaient à table avec eux.

²⁹ויעש לו לוי משתה גדול בביתו ועם רב של מוכסים ואנשים אחרים היו מסבים עמהם׃

³⁰And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners?

³⁰Les pharisiens et les scribes murmurèrent, et dirent à ses disciples: Pourquoi mangez-vous et buvez-vous avec les publicains et les gens de mauvaise vie?

³⁰]13-03[ וילונו הסופרים אשר בהם והפרושים על תלמידיו ויאמרו למה אתם אכלים אליהם הבריאים אינם צריכים לרפא כי אם החלים׃

³¹And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are in health have no need of a physician; but they that are sick.

³¹Jésus, prenant la parole, leur dit: Ce ne sont pas ceux qui se portent bien qui ont besoin de médecin, mais les malades.

³¹]13-03[׃

³²I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.

³²Je ne suis pas venu appeler à la repentance des justes, mais des pécheurs.

³²לא באתי לקרוא הצדיקים כי אם החטאים לתשובה׃

³³And they said unto him, The disciples of John fast often, and make supplications; likewise also the [disciples] of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink.

³³Ils lui dirent: Les disciples de Jean, comme ceux des pharisiens, jeûnent fréquemment et font des prières, tandis que les tiens mangent et boivent.

³³ויאמרו אליו הן תלמידי יוחנן צמים הרבה ואמרים תחנות וגם תלמידי הפרושים עשים כן ותלמידיך אכלים ושתים׃

³⁴And Jesus said unto them, Can ye make the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?

³⁴Il leur répondit: Pouvez-vous faire jeûner les amis de l'époux pendant que l'époux est avec eux?

³⁴ויאמר אליהם התוכלו אנס בני החפה לצום והחתן עוד עמהם׃

³⁵But the days will come; and when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, then will they fast in those days.

³⁵Les jours viendront où l'époux leur sera enlevé, alors ils jeûneront en ces jours-là.

³⁵ואולם ימים באים ולקח מאתם החתן אז יצומו בימים ההמה׃

³⁶And he spake also a parable unto them: No man rendeth a piece from a new garment and putteth it upon an old garment; else he will rend the new, and also the piece from the new will not agree with the old.

³⁶Il leur dit aussi une parabole: Personne ne déchire d'un habit neuf un morceau pour le mettre à un vieil habit; car, il déchire l'habit neuf, et le morceau qu'il en a pris n'est pas assorti au vieux.

³⁶וידבר אליהם גם אם המשל הזה אין איש מעלה מטלית של בגד חדש על בגד בלוי כי אז גם החדש יקרע וגם לא תשוה מטלית החדש לבלוי׃

³⁷And no man putteth new wine into old wine-skins; else the new wine will burst the skins, and itself will be spilled, and the skins will perish.

³⁷Et personne ne met du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres; autrement, le vin nouveau fait rompre les outres, il se répand, et les outres sont perdues;

³⁷ואין איש נתן יין חדש בנאדות בלים כי אז היין החדש יבקע את הנאדות והוא ישפך והנאדות יאבדו׃

³⁸But new wine must be put into fresh wine-skins.

³⁸mais il faut mettre le vin nouveau dans des outres neuves.

³⁸אך יתן היין החדש בנאדות חדשים ושניהם יחדו ישמרו׃

³⁹And no man having drunk old [wine] desireth new; for he saith, The old is good.

³⁹Et personne, après avoir bu du vin vieux, ne veut du nouveau, car il dit: Le vieux est bon.

³⁹ואשר שתה יין ישן איננו חפץ עוד ביין חדש כי יאמר הישן הוא נעים ממנו׃
