1Now it came to pass on a sabbath, that he was going through the grainfields; and his disciples plucked the ears, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
1Il arriva, un jour de sabbat appelé second-premier, que Jésus traversait des champs de blé. Ses disciples arrachaient des épis et les mangeaient, après les avoir froissés dans leurs mains.
1ויהי בשבת השנית לספירת העמר עבר בין הקמה ויקטפו תלמידיו מלילת ויפרכו אתן בידיהם ויאכלו׃
2But certain of the Pharisees said, Why do ye that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath day?
2Quelques pharisiens leur dirent: Pourquoi faites-vous ce qu'il n'est pas permis de faire pendant le sabbat?
2ויש מן הפרושים אשר אמרו אליהם למה אתם עשים את אשר איננו מתר לעשות בשבת׃
3And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read even this, what David did, when he was hungry, he, and they that were with him;
3Jésus leur répondit: N'avez-vous pas lu ce que fit David, lorsqu'il eut faim, lui et ceux qui étaient avec lui;
3ויען ישוע ויאמר אליהם הלא קראתם את אשר עשה דוד בהיותו רעב הוא ואשר היו אתו׃
4how he entered into the house of God, and took and ate the showbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests alone?
4comment il entra dans la maison de Dieu, prit les pains de proposition, en mangea, et en donna à ceux qui étaient avec lui, bien qu'il ne soit permis qu'aux sacrificateurs de les manger?
4כאשר בא אל בית האלהים ויקח את לחם הפנים ויאכל וגם נתן לאשר אתו את אשר לא נכון לאכלו כי אם לכהנים לבדם׃
5And he said unto them, The Son of man is lord of the sabbath.
5Et il leur dit: Le Fils de l'homme est maître même du sabbat.
5ויאמר אליהם בן האדם גם אדון השבת הוא׃
6And it came to pass on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
6Il arriva, un autre jour de sabbat, que Jésus entra dans la synagogue, et qu'il enseignait. Il s'y trouvait un homme dont la main droite était sèche.
6ויהי בשבת אחרת בא אל בית הכנסת וילמד ושם איש אשר יבשה ידו הימנית׃
7And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath; that they might find how to accuse him.
7Les scribes et les pharisiens observaient Jésus, pour voir s'il ferait une guérison le jour du sabbat: c'était afin d'avoir sujet de l'accuser.
7ויארבו לו הסופרים והפרושים לראות אם ירפא בשבת למען ימצאו עליו שטנה׃
8But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man that had his hand withered, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
8Mais il connaissait leurs pensées, et il dit à l'homme qui avait la main sèche: Lève-toi, et tiens-toi là au milieu. Il se leva, et se tint debout.
8והוא ידע את מחשבותם ויאמר אל האיש אשר ידו יבשה קום ועמוד בתוך ויקם ויעמד׃
9And Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do harm? to save a life, or to destroy it?
9Et Jésus leur dit: Je vous demande s'il est permis, le jour du sabbat, de faire du bien ou de faire du mal, de sauver une personne ou de la tuer.
9ויאמר אליהם ישוע אשאלה אתכם דבר הנכון בשבת להיטיב אם להרע להציל נפש אם לאבד׃
10And he looked round about on them all, and said unto him, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did [so]: and his hand was restored.
10Alors, promenant ses regards sur eux tous, il dit à l'homme: Etends ta main. Il le fit, et sa main fut guérie.
10ויבט סביב אל כלם ויאמר לאיש פשט את ידך ויעש כן ותרפא ידו ותשב כאחרת׃
11But they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
11Ils furent remplis de fureur, et ils se consultèrent pour savoir ce qu'ils feraient à Jésus.
11והמה נמלאו חמה ויוסדו יחד מה לעשות לישוע׃
12And it came to pass in these days, that he went out into the mountain to pray; and he continued all night in prayer to God.
12En ce temps-là, Jésus se rendit sur la montagne pour prier, et il passa toute la nuit à prier Dieu.
12ויהי בימים ההם ויצא ההרה להתפלל ויעמד כל הלילה בתפלה לאלהים׃
13And when it was day, he called his disciples; and he chose from them twelve, whom also he named apostles:
13Quand le jour parut, il appela ses disciples, et il en choisit douze, auxquels il donna le nom d'apôtres:
13ובהית הבקר אסף אליו את תלמידיו ויבחר מהם שנים עשר אשר גם קרא להם שליחים׃
14Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,
14Simon, qu'il nomma Pierre; André, son frère; Jacques; Jean; Philippe; Barthélemy;
14את שמעון אשר גם קראו פטרוס ואת אנדרי אחיו את יעקב ואת יוחנן את פילפוס ואת בר תלמי׃
15and Matthew and Thomas, and James [the son] of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot,
15Matthieu; Thomas; Jacques, fils d'Alphée; Simon, appelé le zélote;
15את מתי ואת תומא ואת יעקב בן חלפי ואת שמעון המכנה הקנא׃
16and Judas [the son] of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor;
16Jude, fils de Jacques; et Judas Iscariot, qui devint traître.
16את יהודה בן יעקב ואת יהודה איש קריות אשר גם היה למוסר׃
17and he came down with them, and stood on a level place, and a great multitude of his disciples, and a great number of the people from all Judaea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
17Il descendit avec eux, et s'arrêta sur un plateau, où se trouvaient une foule de ses disciples et une multitude de peuple de toute la Judée, de Jérusalem, et de la contrée maritime de Tyr et de Sidon. Ils étaient venus pour l'entendre, et pour être guéris de leurs maladies.
17וירד אתם ויעמד במקום מישור והמון תלמידיו וקהל עם רב מכל יהודה וירושלים ומחוף ים צר וצידון אשר באו לשמע אתו ולהרפא מחלייהם׃
18and they that were troubled with unclean spirits were healed.
18Ceux qui étaient tourmentés par des esprits impurs étaient guéris.
18וגם הנלחצים ברוחות טמאות וירפאו׃
19And all the multitude sought to touch him; for power came forth from him, and healed [them] all.
19Et toute la foule cherchait à le toucher, parce qu'une force sortait de lui et les guérissait tous.
19וכל ההמון מבקשים לגעת בו כי גבורה יצאה מאתו ורפאה את כלם׃
20And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed [are] ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
20Alors Jésus, levant les yeux sur ses disciples, dit: Heureux vous qui êtes pauvres, car le royaume de Dieu est à vous!
20והוא נשא את עיניו אל תלמידיו ויאמר אשריכם העניים כי לכם מלכות האלהים׃
21Blessed [are] ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed [are] ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
21Heureux vous qui avez faim maintenant, car vous serez rassasiés! Heureux vous qui pleurez maintenant, car vous serez dans la joie!
21אשריכם הרעבים כעת כי תשבעו אשריכם הבכים כעת כי תשחקו׃
22Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you [from their company], and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
22Heureux serez-vous, lorsque les hommes vous haïront, lorsqu'on vous chassera, vous outragera, et qu'on rejettera votre nom comme infâme, à cause du Fils de l'homme!
22אשריכם אם ישנאו אתכם האנשים ואם ינדו אתכם וחרפו והדיחו את שמכם כשם רע בעבור בן האדם׃
23Rejoice in that day, and leap [for joy]: for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for in the same manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
23Réjouissez-vous en ce jour-là et tressaillez d'allégresse, parce que votre récompense sera grande dans le ciel; car c'est ainsi que leurs pères traitaient les prophètes.
23שמחו ביום ההוא ורקדו כי הנה שכרכם רב בשמים כי כזאת עשו אבתיהם לנביאים׃
24But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
24Mais, malheur à vous, riches, car vous avez votre consolation!
24אך אוי לכם העשירים כי כבר לקחתם את נחמתכם׃
25Woe unto you, ye that are full now! for ye shall hunger. Woe [unto you], ye that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
25Malheur à vous qui êtes rassasiés, car vous aurez faim! Malheur à vous qui riez maintenant, car vous serez dans le deuil et dans les larmes!
25אוי לכם השבעים כי תרעבו אוי לכם השחקים כעת כי תתאבלו ותבכו׃
26Woe [unto you], when all men shall speak well of you! for in the same manner did their fathers to the false prophets.
26Malheur, lorsque tous les hommes diront du bien de vous, car c'est ainsi qu'agissaient leurs pères à l'égard des faux prophètes!
26אוי לכם אם כל האנשים משבחים אתכם כי כזאת עשו אבותיהם לנביאי השקר׃
27But I say unto you that hear, Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you,
27Mais je vous dis, à vous qui m'écoutez: Aimez vos ennemis, faites du bien à ceux qui vous haïssent,
27אבל אליכם השמעים אני אמר אהבו את איביכם היטיבו לשנאיכם׃
28bless them that curse you, pray for them that despitefully use you.
28bénissez ceux qui vous maudissent, priez pour ceux qui vous maltraitent.
28ברכו את מקלליכם והתפללו בעד מכלימיכם׃
29To him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and from him that taketh away thy cloak withhold not thy coat also.
29Si quelqu'un te frappe sur une joue, présente-lui aussi l'autre. Si quelqu'un prend ton manteau, ne l'empêche pas de prendre encore ta tunique.
29המכה אתך על הלחי הטה לו גם את האחרת והלקח את מעילך אל תמנע ממנו גם את כתנתך׃
30Give to every one that asketh thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
30Donne à quiconque te demande, et ne réclame pas ton bien à celui qui s'en empare.
30וכל השאל ממך תן לו והלקח את אשר לך אל תשאל מאתו׃
31And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
31Ce que vous voulez que les hommes fassent pour vous, faites-le de même pour eux.
31וכאשר תחפצו כי יעשו לכם בני האדם כן תעשו להם גם אתם׃
32And if ye love them that love you, what thank have ye? for even sinners love those that love them.
32Si vous aimez ceux qui vous aiment, quel gré vous en saura-t-on? Les pécheurs aussi aiment ceux qui les aiment.
32ואם תאהבו את אהביכם מה הוא חסדכם כי גם החטאים אהבים את אהביהם׃
33And if ye do good to them that do good to you, what thank have ye? for even sinners do the same.
33Si vous faites du bien à ceux qui vous font du bien, quel gré vous en saura-t-on? Les pécheurs aussi agissent de même.
33ואם תיטיבו למטיביכם מה הוא חסדכם גם החטאים יעשו כן׃
34And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? even sinners lend to sinners, to receive again as much.
34Et si vous prêtez à ceux de qui vous espérez recevoir, quel gré vous en saura-t-on? Les pécheurs aussi prêtent aux pécheurs, afin de recevoir la pareille.
34ואם תלוו את האנשים אשר תקוו לקבל מהם מה הוא חסדכם גם החטאים מלוים את החטאים למען יושב להם בשוה׃
35But love your enemies, and do [them] good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
35Mais aimez vos ennemis, faites du bien, et prêtez sans rien espérer. Et votre récompense sera grande, et vous serez fils du Très-Haut, car il est bon pour les ingrats et pour les méchants.
35אבל אהבו את איביכם והיטיבו והלוו מבלי תוחלת ויהי שכרכם רב והייתם בני עליון כי טוב הוא גם לשכחי טובה ולרעים׃
36Be ye merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
36Soyez donc miséricordieux, comme votre Père est miséricordieux.
36לכן היו רחמנים כאשר גם אביכם רחום הוא׃
37And judge not, and ye shall not be judged: and condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: release, and ye shall be released:
37Ne jugez point, et vous ne serez point jugés; ne condamnez point, et vous ne serez point condamnés; absolvez, et vous serez absous.
37ואל תשפטו ולא תשפטו אל תחיבו ולא תחיבו נקו ותנקו׃
38give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.
38Donnez, et il vous sera donné: on versera dans votre sein une bonne mesure, serrée, secouée et qui déborde; car on vous mesurera avec la mesure dont vous vous serez servis.
38תנו ותנתן לכם מדה טובה דחוקה וגדושה ומשפעה יתנו אל חיקכם כי במדה אשר אתם מודדים בה ימד לכם׃
39And he spake also a parable unto them, Can the blind guide the blind? shall they not both fall into a pit?
39Il leur dit aussi cette parabole: Un aveugle peut-il conduire un aveugle? Ne tomberont-ils pas tous deux dans une fosse?
39וישא משלו ויאמר אליהם היוכל עור לנהל את העור הלא יפלו שניהם אל הפחת׃
40The disciple is not above his teacher: but every one when he is perfected shall be as his teacher.
40Le disciple n'est pas plus que le maître; mais tout disciple accompli sera comme son maître.
40אין תלמיד נעלה על רבו ודי לכל תלמיד שלם להיות כרבו׃
41And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
41Pourquoi vois-tu la paille qui est dans l'oeil de ton frère, et n'aperçois-tu pas la poutre qui est dans ton oeil?
41ולמה זה אתה ראה את הקסם אשר בעין אחיך ואת הקורה בעינך לא תביט׃
42Or how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me cast out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
42Ou comment peux-tu dire à ton frère: Frère, laisse-moi ôter la paille qui est dans ton oeil, toi qui ne vois pas la poutre qui est dans le tien? Hypocrite, ôte premièrement la poutre de ton oeil, et alors tu verras comment ôter la paille qui est dans l'oeil de ton frère.
42ואיך תאמר אל אחיך אחי הניחה לי ואסירה את הקסם אשר בעינך ואינך ראה את הקורה אשר בעינך החנף הסר בראשונה את הקורה מעינך ואחר ראה תראה להסיר את הקסם אשר בעין אחיך׃
43For there is no good tree that bringeth forth corrupt fruit; nor again a corrupt tree that bringeth forth good fruit.
43Ce n'est pas un bon arbre qui porte du mauvais fruit, ni un mauvais arbre qui porte du bon fruit.
43כי עץ טוב איננו עשה פרי משחת וגם עץ משחת איננו עשה פרי טוב׃
44For each tree is known by its own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
44Car chaque arbre se connaît à son fruit. On ne cueille pas des figues sur des épines, et l'on ne vendange pas des raisins sur des ronces.
44כי כל עץ נכר בפריו כי אין אספים תאנים מן הקצים אף אין בצרים ענב מן הסנה׃
45The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and the evil [man] out of the evil [treasure] bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
45L'homme bon tire de bonnes choses du bon trésor de son coeur, et le méchant tire de mauvaises choses de son mauvais trésor; car c'est de l'abondance du coeur que la bouche parle.
45האיש הטוב מאוצר לבבו הטוב מפיק את הטוב והאיש הרע מאוצר לבבו הרע מפיק את הרע כי משפעת הלב ימלל פיהו׃
46And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
46Pourquoi m'appelez-vous Seigneur, Seigneur! et ne faites-vous pas ce que je dis?
46ולמה זה אתם קראים לי אדני אדני ואינכם עשים את אשר אני אמר׃
47Every one that cometh unto me, and heareth my words, and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is like:
47Je vous montrerai à qui est semblable tout homme qui vient à moi, entend mes paroles, et les met en pratique.
47כל הבא אלי ושומע את דברי ועשה אתם אורה אתכם למי הוא דומה׃
48he is like a man building a house, who digged and went deep, and laid a foundation upon the rock: and when a flood arose, the stream brake against that house, and could not shake it: because it had been well builded.
48Il est semblable à un homme qui, bâtissant une maison, a creusé, creusé profondément, et a posé le fondement sur le roc. Une inondation est venue, et le torrent s'est jeté contre cette maison, sans pouvoir l'ébranler, parce qu'elle était bien bâtie.
48דומה הוא לאיש בנה בית אשר העמיק לחפר וייסדו על הסלע וכבוא השטף פרץ הנהר בבית ההוא ולא יכל להניעו כי על הסלע יסודו׃
49But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that built a house upon the earth without a foundation; against which the stream brake, and straightway it fell in; and the ruin of that house was great.
49Mais celui qui entend, et ne met pas en pratique, est semblable à un homme qui a bâti une maison sur la terre, sans fondement. Le torrent s'est jeté contre elle: aussitôt elle est tombée, et la ruine de cette maison a été grande.
49ואשר שמע ולא עשה דומה לאיש אשר בנה בית על הקרקע בלי יסוד ויפרץ בו הנהר ויפל פתאם ויגדל שבר הבית ההוא׃
