1And straightway in the morning the chief priests with the elders and scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate.
1Dès le matin, les principaux sacrificateurs tinrent conseil avec les anciens et les scribes, et tout le sanhédrin. Après avoir lié Jésus, ils l'emmenèrent, et le livrèrent à Pilate.
1וישכימו ראשי הכהנים עם הזקנים והסופרים וכל הסנהדרין בבקר ויתיעצו ויאסרו את ישוע ויוליכהו משם וימסרהו אל פילטוס׃
2And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering saith unto him, Thou sayest.
2Pilate l'interrogea: Es-tu le roi des Juifs? Jésus lui répondit: Tu le dis.
2וישאל אותו פילטוס האתה מלך היהודים ויען ויאמר אליו אתה אמרת׃
3And the chief priests accused him of many things.
3Les principaux sacrificateurs portaient contre lui plusieurs accusations.
3וראשי הכהנים הרבו לשטנו׃
4And Pilate again asked him, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they accuse thee of.
4Pilate l'interrogea de nouveau: Ne réponds-tu rien? Vois de combien de choses ils t'accusent.
4ויוסף פילטוס וישאלהו לאמר האינך משיב דבר ראה כמה הם מעידים בך׃
5But Jesus no more answered anything; insomuch that Pilate marvelled.
5Et Jésus ne fit plus aucune réponse, ce qui étonna Pilate.
5וישוע לא השיב עוד אף דבר אחד ויתמה פילטוס׃
6Now at the feast he used to release unto them one prisoner, whom they asked of him.
6A chaque fête, il relâchait un prisonnier, celui que demandait la foule.
6ובכל חג היה דרכו לפטר להם אסיר אחד את אשר יבקשו׃
7And there was one called Barabbas, [lying] bound with them that had made insurrection, men who in the insurrection had committed murder.
7Il y avait en prison un nommé Barabbas avec ses complices, pour un meurtre qu'ils avaient commis dans une sédition.
7ויהי איש הנקרא בשם בר אבא אסור עם המורדים אשר רצחו רצח בעת המרד׃
8And the multitude went up and began to ask him [to do] as he was wont to do unto them.
8La foule, étant montée, se mit à demander ce qu'il avait coutume de leur accorder.
8וישא ההמון את קולו ויחלו לבקש שיעשה להם כפעם בפעם׃
9And Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
9Pilate leur répondit: Voulez-vous que je vous relâche le roi des Juifs?
9ויען אתם פילטוס ויאמר התחפצו כי אפטר לכם את מלך היהודים׃
10For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.
10Car il savait que c'était par envie que les principaux sacrificateurs l'avaient livré.
10כי ידע אשר רק מקנאה מסרוהו ראשי הכהנים׃
11But the chief priests stirred up the multitude, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.
11Mais les chefs des sacrificateurs excitèrent la foule, afin que Pilate leur relâchât plutôt Barabbas.
11וראשי הכהנים הסיתו את ההמון לבלתי פטר להם כי אם בר אבא׃
12And Pilate again answered and said unto them, What then shall I do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews?
12Pilate, reprenant la parole, leur dit: Que voulez-vous donc que je fasse de celui que vous appelez le roi des Juifs?
12ויסף פילטוס ויען ויאמר להם ומה אפוא חפצתם ואעשה לאשר אתם קראים מלך היהודים׃
13And they cried out again, Crucify him.
13Ils crièrent de nouveau: Crucifie-le!
13ויוסיפו לצעק הצלב אותו׃
14And Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out exceedingly, Crucify him.
14Pilate leur dit: Quel mal a-t-il fait? Et ils crièrent encore plus fort: Crucifie-le!
14ויאמר אליהם פילטוס מה אפוא עשה רעה והם הרבו עוד לצעק הצלב אותו׃
15And Pilate, wishing to content the multitude, released unto them Barabbas, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
15Pilate, voulant satisfaire la foule, leur relâcha Barabbas; et, après avoir fait battre de verges Jésus, il le livra pour être crucifié.
15ויואל פילטוס לעשות כרצון העם ויפטר להם את בר אבא ואת ישוע הכה בשוטים וימסר אותו להצלב׃
16And the soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.
16Les soldats conduisirent Jésus dans l'intérieur de la cour, c'est-à-dire, dans le prétoire, et ils assemblèrent toute la cohorte.
16ויוליכהו אנשי הצלב אל החצר הפנימית הוא בית המשפט ויזעיקו את כל הגדוד׃
17And they clothe him with purple, and platting a crown of thorns, they put it on him;
17Ils le revêtirent de pourpre, et posèrent sur sa tête une couronne d'épines, qu'ils avaient tressée.
17וילבישהו ארגמן וישרגו עטרת קצים ויעטרהו׃
18and they began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!
18Puis ils se mirent à le saluer: Salut, roi des Juifs!
18ויחלו לברכו לאמר שלום לך מלך היהודים׃
19And they smote his head with a reed, and spat upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.
19Et ils lui frappaient la tête avec un roseau, crachaient sur lui, et, fléchissant les genoux, ils se prosternaient devant lui.
19ויכו על ראשו בקנה וירקו בו ויכרעו על ברכיהם וישתחוו לו׃
20And when they had mocked him, they took off from him the purple, and put on him his garments. And they lead him out to crucify him.
20Après s'être ainsi moqués de lui, ils lui ôtèrent la pourpre, lui remirent ses vêtements, et l'emmenèrent pour le crucifier.
20ואחרי התלוצצם בו הפשיטו אותו את הארגמן וילבישהו את בגדיו ויוציאהו לצלב אותו׃
21And they compel one passing by, Simon of Cyrene, coming from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go [with them], that he might bear his cross.
21Ils forcèrent à porter la croix de Jésus un passant qui revenait des champs, Simon de Cyrène, père d'Alexandre et de Rufus;
21ויאנסו איש עבר אחד הבא מן השדה ושמו שמעון הקוריני אבי אלכסנדרוס ורופוס לשאת את צלבו׃
22And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.
22et ils conduisirent Jésus au lieu nommé Golgotha, ce qui signifie lieu du crâne.
22ויביאהו אל מקום גלגלתא הוא מקום הגלגלת׃
23And they offered him wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.
23Ils lui donnèrent à boire du vin mêlé de myrrhe, mais il ne le prit pas.
23ויתנו לו יין מזוג במר והוא לא קבל׃
24And they crucify him, and part his garments among them, casting lots upon them, what each should take.
24Ils le crucifièrent, et se partagèrent ses vêtements, en tirant au sort pour savoir ce que chacun aurait.
24ויהי כאשר צלבו אותו ויחלקו בגדיו להם בהפילם עליהם גורל מה יקח איש איש׃
25And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
25C'était la troisième heure, quand ils le crucifièrent.
25ותהי השעה השלישית ויצלבהו׃
26And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
26L'inscription indiquant le sujet de sa condamnation portait ces mots: Le roi des Juifs.
26ומכתב דבר אשמתו כתוב למעלה מלך היהודים׃
27And with him they crucify two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left.
27Ils crucifièrent avec lui deux brigands, l'un à sa droite, et l'autre à sa gauche.
27ויצלבו אתו שני פריצים אחד לימינו ואחד לשמאלו׃
28[And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was reckoned with transgressors.]
28Ainsi fut accompli ce que dit l'Ecriture: Il a été mis au nombre des malfaiteurs.
28וימלא הכתוב האמר ואת פשעים נמנה׃
29And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ha! Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
29Les passants l'injuriaient, et secouaient la tête, en disant: Hé! toi qui détruis le temple, et qui le rebâtis en trois jours,
29והעברים גדפו אותו ויניעו ראשם לאמר האח אתה ההורס את ההיכל ובונה אותו בשלשת ימים׃
30save thyself, and come down from the cross.
30sauve-toi toi-même, en descendant de la croix!
30הושע את עצמך ורדה מן הצלב׃
31In like manner also the chief priests mocking [him] among themselves with the scribes said, He saved others; himself he cannot save.
31Les principaux sacrificateurs aussi, avec les scribes, se moquaient entre eux, et disaient: Il a sauvé les autres, et il ne peut se sauver lui-même!
31וכן לעגו לו גם ראשי הכהנים עם הסופרים באמרם איש אל רעהו את אחרים הושיע ואת עצמו לא יוכל להושיע׃
32Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reproached him.
32Que le Christ, le roi d'Israël, descende maintenant de la croix, afin que nous voyions et que nous croyions! Ceux qui étaient crucifiés avec lui l'insultaient aussi.
32המשיח מלך ישראל ירד נא מן הצלב למען נראה ונאמין וגם הנצלבים אתו חרפוהו׃
33And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
33La sixième heure étant venue, il y eut des ténèbres sur toute la terre, jusqu'à la neuvième heure.
33ובהיות השעה הששית היה חשך על כל הארץ עד השעה התשיעית׃
34And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
34Et à la neuvième heure, Jésus s'écria d'une voix forte: Eloï, Eloï, lama sabachthani? ce qui signifie: Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné?
34ובשעה התשיעית ויצעק ישוע בקול גדול אלהי אלהי למה שבקתני אשר פרושו אלי אלי למה עזבתני׃
35And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elijah.
35Quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là, l'ayant entendu, dirent: Voici, il appelle Elie.
35ומקצת העמדים אצלו בשמעם את זאת אמרו הנה אל אליהו הוא קורא׃
36And one ran, and filling a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let be; let us see whether Elijah cometh to take him down.
36Et l'un d'eux courut remplir une éponge de vinaigre, et, l'ayant fixée à un roseau, il lui donna à boire, en disant: Laissez, voyons si Elie viendra le descendre.
36וירץ אחד מהם וימלא ספוג חמץ וישם על קנה וישקהו ויאמר הניחו ונראה אם יבא אליהו להורידו׃
37And Jesus uttered a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
37Mais Jésus, ayant poussé un grand cri, expira.
37וישוע נתן קול גדול ויפח את נפשו׃
38And the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom.
38Le voile du temple se déchira en deux, depuis le haut jusqu'en bas.
38ופרכת ההיכל נקרעה לשנים קרעים מלמעלה למטה׃
39And when the centurion, who stood by over against him, saw that he so gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
39Le centenier, qui était en face de Jésus, voyant qu'il avait expiré de la sorte, dit: Assurément, cet homme était Fils de Dieu.
39וירא שר המאה העמד לנגדו כי בזעקו כן נפח את נפשו ויאמר אכן האיש הזה היה בן האלהים׃
40And there were also women beholding from afar: among whom [were] both Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
40Il y avait aussi des femmes qui regardaient de loin. Parmi elles étaient Marie de Magdala, Marie, mère de Jacques le mineur et de Joses, et Salomé,
40וגם נשים היו שם ראות מרחוק ובתוכן גם מרים המגדלית ומרים אמו של יעקב הצעיר ושל יוסי ושלמית׃
41who, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him; and many other women that came up with him unto Jerusalem.
41qui le suivaient et le servaient lorsqu'il était en Galilée, et plusieurs autres qui étaient montées avec lui à Jérusalem.
41אשר גם הלכו אחריו ושרתהו בהיותו בגליל ואחרות רבות אשר עלו אתו ירושלים׃
42And when even was now come, because it was the Preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,
42Le soir étant venu, comme c'était la préparation, c'est-à-dire, la veille du sabbat, -
42ועת הערב הגיע ומפני אשר ערב שבת היה הוא היום שלפני השבת׃
43there came Joseph of Arimathaea, a councillor of honorable estate, who also himself was looking for the kingdom of God; and he boldly went in unto Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
43arriva Joseph d'Arimathée, conseiller de distinction, qui lui-même attendait aussi le royaume de Dieu. Il osa se rendre vers Pilate, pour demander le corps de Jésus.
43ויבא יוסף הרמתי יועץ נכבד אשר היה מחכה גם הוא למלכות האלהים ויתחזק ויבא אל פילטוס וישאל את גופת ישוע׃
44And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.
44Pilate s'étonna qu'il fût mort si tôt; fit venir le centenier et lui demanda s'il était mort depuis longtemps.
44ויתמה פילטוס על אשר הוא כבר מת ויקרא אל שר המאה וישאלהו הגוע כבר׃
45And when he learned it of the centurion, he granted the corpse to Joseph.
45S'en étant assuré par le centenier, il donna le corps à Joseph.
45וידע מפי שר המאה כי כן ויתן את גופתו מתנה ליוסף׃
46And he bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out of a rock; and he rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.
46Et Joseph, ayant acheté un linceul, descendit Jésus de la croix, l'enveloppa du linceul, et le déposa dans un sépulcre taillé dans le roc. Puis il roula une pierre à l'entrée du sépulcre.
46והוא קנה סדין ויורד אתו ויכרכהו בסדין וישימהו בקבר חצוב בסלע ויגל אבן על פתח הקבר׃
47And Mary Magdalene and Mary the [mother] of Joses beheld where he was laid.
47Marie de Magdala, et Marie, mère de Joses, regardaient où on le mettait.
47ומרים המגדלית ומרים אם יוסי היו ראות את המקום אשר הושם שמה׃
