¹And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and trying him asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

¹Les pharisiens et les sadducéens abordèrent Jésus et, pour l'éprouver, lui demandèrent de leur faire voir un signe venant du ciel.

¹ויגשו הפרושים והצדוקים לנסותו וישאלו מאתו להראותם אות מן השמים׃

²But he answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, [It will be] fair weather: for the heaven is red.

²Jésus leur répondit: Le soir, vous dites: Il fera beau, car le ciel est rouge;

²ויען ויאמר להם בערב תאמרו יום צח יהיה כי אדמו השמים׃

³And in the morning, [It will be] foul weather to-day: for the heaven is red and lowering. Ye know how to discern the face of the heaven; but ye cannot [discern] the signs of the times.

³et le matin: Il y aura de l'orage aujourd'hui, car le ciel est d'un rouge sombre. Vous savez discerner l'aspect du ciel, et vous ne pouvez discerner les signes des temps.

³ובבקר תאמרו היום סער כי אדמו והתקדרו השמים חנפים אתם את פני השמים ידעתם לבחן ואתות העתים לא תוכלו׃

⁴An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of Jonah. And he left them, and departed.

⁴Une génération méchante et adultère demande un miracle; il ne lui sera donné d'autre miracle que celui de Jonas. Puis il les quitta, et s'en alla.

⁴דור רע ומנאף בקש לו אות ואות לא ינתן לו בלתי אם אות יונה הנביא ויעזבם וילך לו׃

⁵And the disciples came to the other side and forgot to take bread.

⁵Les disciples, en passant à l'autre bord, avaient oublié de prendre des pains.

⁵וכבוא התלמידים אל עבר הים שכחו לקחת אתם לחם׃

⁶And Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

⁶Jésus leur dit: Gardez-vous avec soin du levain des pharisiens et des sadducéens.

⁶ויאמר ישוע אליהם ראו והשמרו לכם משאר הפרושים והצדוקים׃

⁷And they reasoned among themselves, saying, We took no bread.

⁷Les disciples raisonnaient en eux-mêmes, et disaient: C'est parce que nous n'avons pas pris de pains.

⁷ויחשבו בלבבם לאמר כי לא לקחנו אתנו לחם׃

⁸And Jesus perceiving it said, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have no bread?

⁸Jésus, l'ayant connu, dit: Pourquoi raisonnez-vous en vous-mêmes, gens de peu de foi, sur ce que vous n'avez pas pris de pains?

⁸וידע ישוע ויאמר אליהם קטני האמונה מה תחשבו בלבבכם כי לא לקחתם אתכם לחם׃

⁹Do ye not yet perceive, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

⁹Etes-vous encore sans intelligence, et ne vous rappelez-vous plus les cinq pains des cinq mille hommes et combien de paniers vous avez emportés,

⁹העוד לא תשכילו ולא תזכרו את חמשת ככרות הלחם לחמשת אלפי איש וכמה סלים נשאתם׃

¹⁰Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

¹⁰ni les sept pains des quatre mille hommes et combien de corbeilles vous avez emportées?

¹⁰ואת שבע ככרות לחם לארבעת אלפי איש וכמה דודים נשאתם׃

¹¹How is it that ye do not perceive that I spake not to you concerning bread? But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

¹¹Comment ne comprenez-vous pas que ce n'est pas au sujet de pains que je vous ai parlé? Gardez-vous du levain des pharisiens et des sadducéens.

¹¹איך לא תבינו כי לא על הלחם אמרתי אליכם השמרו לכם משאר הפרושים והצדוקים׃

¹²Then understood they that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

¹²Alors ils comprirent que ce n'était pas du levain du pain qu'il avait dit de se garder, mais de l'enseignement des pharisiens et des sadducéens.

¹²אז הבינו כי לא אמר להשמר משאר הלחם כי אם מלמוד הפרושים והצדוקים׃

¹³Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of man is?

¹³Jésus, étant arrivé dans le territoire de Césarée de Philippe, demanda à ses disciples: Qui dit-on que je suis, moi, le Fils de l'homme?

¹³ויהי כבוא ישוע אל גלילות קיסרין של פילפוס וישאל את תלמידיו לאמר מה אמרים האנשים עלי מי הוא בן האדם׃

¹⁴And they said, Some [say] John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

¹⁴Ils répondirent: Les uns disent que tu es Jean-Baptiste; les autres, Elie; les autres, Jérémie, ou l'un des prophètes.

¹⁴ויאמרו יש אמרים יוחנן המטביל הוא ואחרים אמרים אליהו ויש אמרים ירמיהו או אחד מן הנביאים׃

¹⁵He saith unto them, But who say ye that I am?

¹⁵Et vous, leur dit-il, qui dites-vous que je suis?

¹⁵ויאמר אליהם ואתם מה תאמרו מי אני׃

¹⁶And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

¹⁶Simon Pierre répondit: Tu es le Christ, le Fils du Dieu vivant.

¹⁶ויען שמעון פטרוס ויאמר אתה הוא המשיח בן אלהים חיים׃

¹⁷And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jonah: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven.

¹⁷Jésus, reprenant la parole, lui dit: Tu es heureux, Simon, fils de Jonas; car ce ne sont pas la chair et le sang qui t'ont révélé cela, mais c'est mon Père qui est dans les cieux.

¹⁷ויען ויאמר אליו אשריך שמעון בר יונה כי בשר ודם לא גלה לך את זאת כי אם אבי שבשמים׃

¹⁸And I also say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

¹⁸Et moi, je te dis que tu es Pierre, et que sur cette pierre je bâtirai mon Eglise, et que les portes du séjour des morts ne prévaudront point contre elle.

¹⁸ואף אני אמר אליך כי אתה פטרוס ועל הסלע הזה אבנה את קהלתי ושערי שאול לא יגברו עליה׃

¹⁹I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

¹⁹Je te donnerai les clefs du royaume des cieux: ce que tu lieras sur la terre sera lié dans les cieux, et ce que tu délieras sur la terre sera délié dans les cieux.

¹⁹ואתן לך את מפתחות מלכות השמים וכל אשר תאסר על הארץ אסור יהיה בשמים וכל אשר תתיר על הארץ מתר יהיה בשמים׃

²⁰Then charged he the disciples that they should tell no man that he was the Christ.

²⁰Alors il recommanda aux disciples de ne dire à personne qu'il était le Christ.

²⁰אז צוה את התלמידים בגערה לבלתי הגיד לאיש כי הוא ישוע המשיח׃

²¹From that time began Jesus to show unto his disciples, that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.

²¹Dès lors Jésus commença à faire connaître à ses disciples qu'il fallait qu'il allât à Jérusalem, qu'il souffrît beaucoup de la part des anciens, des principaux sacrificateurs et des scribes, qu'il fût mis à mort, et qu'il ressuscitât le troisième jour.

²¹מן העת ההיא החל ישוע להורות את תלמידיו שהוא צריך ללכת ירושלים ויענה הרבה בידי הזקנים והכהנים הגדולים והסופרים ויהרג וביום השלישי קום יקום׃

²²And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall never be unto thee.

²²Pierre, l'ayant pris à part, se mit à le reprendre, et dit: A Dieu ne plaise, Seigneur! Cela ne t'arrivera pas.

²²ויקחהו פטרוס ויחל לגער בו לאמר חס לך אדני אל יהי לך כזאת׃

²³But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art a stumbling-block unto me: for thou mindest not the things of God, but the things of men.

²³Mais Jésus, se retournant, dit à Pierre: Arrière de moi, Satan! tu m'es en scandale; car tes pensées ne sont pas les pensées de Dieu, mais celles des hommes.

²³ויפן ויאמר לפטרוס סור מעלי השטן למכשול אתה לי כי אין לבך לדברי אלהים כי אם לדברי בני אדם׃

²⁴Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

²⁴Alors Jésus dit à ses disciples: Si quelqu'un veut venir après moi, qu'il renonce à lui-même, qu'il se charge de sa croix, et qu'il me suive.

²⁴ויאמר ישוע אל תלמידיו איש כי יחפץ ללכת אחרי יכחש בנפשו ונשא את צלבו והלך אחרי׃

²⁵For whosoever would save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake shall find it.

²⁵Car celui qui voudra sauver sa vie la perdra, mais celui qui la perdra à cause de moi la trouvera.

²⁵כי כל אשר יחפץ להושיע את נפשו תאבד נפשו ממנו וכל אשר תאבד לו נפשו למעני הוא ימצאנה׃

²⁶For what shall a man be profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? or what shall a man give in exchange for his life?

²⁶Et que servirait-il à un homme de gagner tout le monde, s'il perdait son âme? ou, que donnerait un homme en échange de son âme?

²⁶כי מה יועיל האדם כי יקנה את כל העולם ונפשו תשחת או מה יתן האדם פדיון נפשו׃

²⁷For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall he render unto every man according to his deeds.

²⁷Car le Fils de l'homme doit venir dans la gloire de son Père, avec ses anges; et alors il rendra à chacun selon ses oeuvres.

²⁷כי עתיד בן האדם לבוא בכבוד אביו עם מלאכיו ואז ישלם לכל איש כמעשהו׃

²⁸Verily I say unto you, there are some of them that stand here, who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

²⁸Je vous le dis en vérité, quelques-uns de ceux qui sont ici ne mourront point, qu'ils n'aient vu le Fils de l'homme venir dans son règne.

²⁸אמן אמר אני לכם כי יש מן העמדים פה אשר לא יטעמו מות עד כי יראו את בן האדם בא במלכותו׃
