¹And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and came unto Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

¹Lorsqu'ils approchèrent de Jérusalem, et qu'ils furent arrivés à Bethphagé, vers la montagne des oliviers, Jésus envoya deux disciples,

¹ויהי כאשר קרבו לירושלים ובאו אל בית פגי בהר הזיתים וישלח ישוע שנים מן התלמידים׃

²saying unto them, Go into the village that is over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose [them], and bring [them] unto me.

²en leur disant: Allez au village qui est devant vous; vous trouverez aussitôt une ânesse attachée, et un ânon avec elle; détachez-les, et amenez-les-moi.

²ויאמר אליהם לכו אל הכפר אשר ממולכם שם תמצאו אתון אסורה ועיר עמה התירו אתם והביאו אלי׃

³And if any one say aught unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

³Si quelqu'un vous dit quelque chose, vous répondrez: Le Seigneur en a besoin. Et à l'instant il les laissera aller.

³וכי יאמר איש אליכם דבר ואמרתם האדון צריך להם וברגע ישלחם׃

⁴Now this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,

⁴Or, ceci arriva afin que s'accomplît ce qui avait été annoncé par le prophète:

⁴וכל זאת היתה למלאת הנאמר ביד הנביא לאמר׃

⁵Tell ye the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, Meek, and riding upon an ass, And upon a colt the foal of an ass.

⁵Dites à la fille de Sion: Voici, ton roi vient à toi, Plein de douceur, et monté sur un âne, Sur un ânon, le petit d'une ânesse.

⁵אמרו לבת ציון הנה מלכך יבוא לך עני ורכב על חמור ועל עיר בן אתנות׃

⁶And the disciples went, and did even as Jesus appointed them,

⁶Les disciples allèrent, et firent ce que Jésus leur avait ordonné.

⁶וילכו התלמידים ויעשו כאשר צוה אתם ישוע׃

⁷and brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their garments; and he sat thereon.

⁷Ils amenèrent l'ânesse et l'ânon, mirent sur eux leurs vêtements, et le firent asseoir dessus.

⁷ויביאו את האתון ואת העיר וישימו עליהם את בגדיהם וירכיבהו עליהם׃

⁸And the most part of the multitude spread their garments in the way; and others cut branches from the trees, and spread them in the way.

⁸La plupart des gens de la foule étendirent leurs vêtements sur le chemin; d'autres coupèrent des branches d'arbres, et en jonchèrent la route.

⁸ורב ההמון פרשו את בגדיהם על הדרך ואחרים כרתו ענפי עצים וישטחום על הדרך׃

⁹And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

⁹Ceux qui précédaient et ceux qui suivaient Jésus criaient: Hosanna au Fils de David! Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur! Hosanna dans les lieux très hauts!

⁹והמון העם ההלכים לפניו ואחריו קראו לאמר הושע נא לבן דוד ברוך הבא בשם יהוה הושע נא במרומים׃

¹⁰And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, Who is this?

¹⁰Lorsqu'il entra dans Jérusalem, toute la ville fut émue, et l'on disait: Qui est celui-ci?

¹⁰ויהי בבאו ירושלים ותהם כל העיר לאמר מי הוא זה׃

¹¹And the multitudes said, This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.

¹¹La foule répondait: C'est Jésus, le prophète, de Nazareth en Galilée.

¹¹ויאמרו המני העם זה הוא הנביא ישוע מנצרת אשר בגליל׃

¹²And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of he money-changers, and the seats of them that sold the doves;

¹²Jésus entra dans le temple de Dieu. Il chassa tous ceux qui vendaient et qui achetaient dans le temple; il renversa les tables des changeurs, et les sièges des vendeurs de pigeons.

¹²ויבא ישוע אל מקדש האלהים ויגרש משם את כל המוכרים והקונים במקדש ויהפך את שלחנות השלחנים ואת מושבות מכרי היונים׃

¹³and he saith unto them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer: but ye make it a den of robbers.

¹³Et il leur dit: Il est écrit: Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière. Mais vous, vous en faites une caverne de voleurs.

¹³ויאמר אליהם הן כתוב כי ביתי בית תפלה יקרא ואתם שמתם אתו למערת פריצים׃

¹⁴And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.

¹⁴Des aveugles et des boiteux s'approchèrent de lui dans le temple. Et il les guérit.

¹⁴ויגשו אליו עורים ופסחים במקדש וירפאם׃

¹⁵But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children that were crying in the temple and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were moved with indignation,

¹⁵Mais les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes furent indignés, à la vue des choses merveilleuses qu'il avait faites, et des enfants qui criaient dans le temple: Hosanna au Fils de David!

¹⁵ויהי כראות הכהנים הגדולים והסופרים את הנפלאות אשר עשה ואת הילדים הצעקים במקדש ואמרים הושע נא לבן דוד ויחר להם׃

¹⁶and said unto him, Hearest thou what these are saying? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea: did ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou has perfected praise?

¹⁶Ils lui dirent: Entends-tu ce qu'ils disent? Oui, leur répondit Jésus. N'avez-vous jamais lu ces paroles: Tu as tiré des louanges de la bouche des enfants et de ceux qui sont à la mamelle?

¹⁶ויאמרו אליו השמע אתה את אשר אלה אמרים ויאמר ישוע אליהם כן הכי קרא לא קראתם מפי עוללים ויונקים יסדת עז׃

¹⁷And he left them, and went forth out of the city to Bethany, and lodged there.

¹⁷Et, les ayant laissés, il sortit de la ville pour aller à Béthanie, où il passa la nuit.

¹⁷ויעזבם ויצא מחוץ לעיר אל בית היני וילן שם׃

¹⁸Now in the morning as he returned to the city, he hungered.

¹⁸Le matin, en retournant à la ville, il eut faim.

¹⁸ובבקר שב אל העיר והוא רעב׃

¹⁹And seeing a fig tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only; and he saith unto it, Let there be no fruit from thee henceforward for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away.

¹⁹Voyant un figuier sur le chemin, il s'en approcha; mais il n'y trouva que des feuilles, et il lui dit: Que jamais fruit ne naisse de toi! Et à l'instant le figuier sécha.

¹⁹וירא תאנה אחת על הדרך ויקרב אליה ולא מצא בה מאומה מלבד העלים ויאמר אליה מעתה לא יהיה ממך פרי עד עולם ותיבש התאנה פתאם׃

²⁰And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How did the fig tree immediately wither away?

²⁰Les disciples, qui virent cela, furent étonnés, et dirent: Comment ce figuier est-il devenu sec en un instant?

²⁰ויראו התלמידים ויתמהו לאמר איך יבשה התאנה פתאם׃

²¹And Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do what is done to the fig tree, but even if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea, it shall be done.

²¹Jésus leur répondit: Je vous le dis en vérité, si vous aviez de la foi et que vous ne doutiez point, non seulement vous feriez ce qui a été fait à ce figuier, mais quand vous diriez à cette montagne: Ote-toi de là et jette-toi dans la mer, cela se ferait.

²¹ויען ישוע ויאמר אליהם אמן אמר אני לכם אם תהיה לכם אמונה ואינכם מסתפקים לא לבד כמעשה התאנה הזאת תעשו כי גם באמרכם אל ההר הזה הנשא והעתק אל תוך הים היו תהיה׃

²²And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

²²Tout ce que vous demanderez avec foi par la prière, vous le recevrez.

²²וכל אשר תשאלו בתפלה ואתם מאמינים תקחהו׃

²³And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

²³Jésus se rendit dans le temple, et, pendant qu'il enseignait, les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens du peuple vinrent lui dire: Par quelle autorité fais-tu ces choses, et qui t'a donné cette autorité?

²³ויבא אל המקדש ויהי בלמדו שם ויגשו אליו ראשי הכהנים וזקני העם ויאמרו באי זו רשות אתה עשה אלה ומי נתן לך הרשות הזאת׃

²⁴And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one question, which if ye tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

²⁴Jésus leur répondit: Je vous adresserai aussi une question; et, si vous m'y répondez, je vous dirai par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.

²⁴ויען יושע ויאמר אליהם גם אני אשאלה אתכם דבר אחד אשר אם תגידו אתו לי גם אני אגיד לכם באי זו רשות אני עשה אלה׃

²⁵The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven or from men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why then did ye not believe him?

²⁵Le baptême de Jean, d'où venait-il? du ciel, ou des hommes? Mais ils raisonnèrent ainsi entre eux; Si nous répondons: Du ciel, il nous dira: Pourquoi donc n'avez-vous pas cru en lui?

²⁵טבילת יוחנן מאין היתה המן השמים אם מבני אדם ויחשבו בלבבם לאמר׃

²⁶But if we shall say, From men; we fear the multitude; for all hold John as a prophet.

²⁶Et si nous répondons: Des hommes, nous avons à craindre la foule, car tous tiennent Jean pour un prophète.

²⁶אם נאמר מן השמים יאמר אלינו מדוע אפוא לא האמונתם לו ואם נאמר מבני אדם יראים אנחנו את המון העם כי כלם חשבים את יוחנן לנביא׃

²⁷And they answered Jesus, and said, We know not. He also said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

²⁷Alors ils répondirent à Jésus: Nous ne savons. Et il leur dit à son tour: Moi non plus, je ne vous dirai pas par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.

²⁷ויענו את ישוע ויאמרו לא ידענו ויאמר אליהם גם אני לא אמר לכם באי זו רשות אני עשה אלה׃

²⁸But what think ye? A man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to-day in the vineyard.

²⁸Que vous en semble? Un homme avait deux fils; et, s'adressant au premier, il dit: Mon enfant, va travailler aujourd'hui dans ma vigne.

²⁸אבל מה דעתכם איש היה ולו שני בנים ויגש אל הראשון ויאמר בני לך היום ועבד בכרמי׃

²⁹And he answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented himself, and went.

²⁹Il répondit: Je ne veux pas. Ensuite, il se repentit, et il alla.

²⁹ויען ויאמר אינני אבא ואחרי כן נחם וילך׃

³⁰And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I [go], sir: and went not.

³⁰S'adressant à l'autre, il dit la même chose. Et ce fils répondit: Je veux bien, seigneur. Et il n'alla pas.

³⁰ויגש אל השני וידבר כזאת גם אליו ויען ויאמר הנני אדני ולא הלך׃

³¹Which of the two did the will of his father? They say, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, that the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

³¹Lequel des deux a fait la volonté du père? Ils répondirent: Le premier. Et Jésus leur dit: Je vous le dis en vérité, les publicains et les prostituées vous devanceront dans le royaume de Dieu.

³¹מי משניהם עשה את רצון האב ויאמרו אליו הראשון ויאמר להם ישוע אמן אמר אני לכם המוכסים והזונות יקדמו אתכם לבוא אל מלכות האלהים׃

³²For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not; but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye saw it, did not even repent yourselves afterward, that ye might believe him.

³²Car Jean est venu à vous dans la voie de la justice, et vous n'avez pas cru en lui. Mais les publicains et les prostituées ont cru en lui; et vous, qui avez vu cela, vous ne vous êtes pas ensuite repentis pour croire en lui.

³²כי יוחנן בא אליכם בדרך צדקה ולא האמנתם לו אבל המוכסים והזונות הם האמינו לו ואתם ראיתם ולא שבתם אחרי כן להאמין לו׃

³³Hear another parable: There was a man that was a householder, who planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into another country.

³³Ecoutez une autre parabole. Il y avait un homme, maître de maison, qui planta une vigne. Il l'entoura d'une haie, y creusa un pressoir, et bâtit une tour; puis il l'afferma à des vignerons, et quitta le pays.

³³משל אחר שמעו איש בעל בית היה ויטע האיש כרם ויעש גדר סביב לו ויחצב יקב ויבן מגדל בתוכו ויתנהו אל כרמים וילך בדרך מרחוק׃

³⁴And when the season of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, to receive his fruits.

³⁴Lorsque le temps de la récolte fut arrivé, il envoya ses serviteurs vers les vignerons, pour recevoir le produit de sa vigne.

³⁴ויהי בהגיע עת האסיף וישלח עבדיו אל הכרמים לקחת את פריו׃

³⁵And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

³⁵Les vignerons, s'étant saisis de ses serviteurs, battirent l'un, tuèrent l'autre, et lapidèrent le troisième.

³⁵ויחזיקו הכרמים בעבדיו את זה הכו ואת זה הרגו ואת זה סקלו׃

³⁶Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them in like manner.

³⁶Il envoya encore d'autres serviteurs, en plus grand nombre que les premiers; et les vignerons les traitèrent de la même manière.

³⁶ויוסף שלח עבדים אחרים רבים מן הראשונים ויעשו ככה גם להם׃

³⁷But afterward he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.

³⁷Enfin, il envoya vers eux son fils, en disant: Ils auront du respect pour mon fils.

³⁷ובאחרונה שלח אליהם את בנו באמרו מפני בני יגורו׃

³⁸But the husbandmen, when they saw the son, said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and take his inheritance.

³⁸Mais, quand les vignerons virent le fils, ils dirent entre eux: Voici l'héritier; venez, tuons-le, et emparons-nous de son héritage.

³⁸ויהי כראות הכרמים את הבן ויאמרו איש אל אחיו זה הוא היורש לכו ונהרגהו ונאחזה בנחלתו׃

³⁹And they took him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him.

³⁹Et ils se saisirent de lui, le jetèrent hors de la vigne, et le tuèrent.

³⁹ויחזיקו בו וידחפוהו אל מחוץ לכרם ויהרגו אתו׃

⁴⁰When therefore the lord of the vineyard shall come, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

⁴⁰Maintenant, lorsque le maître de la vigne viendra, que fera-t-il à ces vignerons?

⁴⁰והנה כבוא בעל הכרם מה יעשה לכרמים ההם׃

⁴¹They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will let out the vineyard unto other husbandmen, who shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

⁴¹Ils lui répondirent: Il fera périr misérablement ces misérables, et il affermera la vigne à d'autres vignerons, qui lui en donneront le produit au temps de la récolte.

⁴¹ויאמרו אליו ירע לרעים ויאבדם ואת הכרם יתן לכרמים אחרים אשר ישיבו לו את הפרי בעתו׃

⁴²Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner; This was from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes?

⁴²Jésus leur dit: N'avez-vous jamais lu dans les Ecritures: La pierre qu'ont rejetée ceux qui bâtissaient Est devenue la principale de l'angle; C'est du Seigneur que cela est venu, Et c'est un prodige à nos yeux?

⁴²ויאמר ישוע אליהם הכי קרא לא קראתם בכתובים אבן מאסו הבונים היתה לראש פנה מאת יהוה היתה זאת היא נפלאת בעינינו׃

⁴³Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken away from you, and shall be given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

⁴³C'est pourquoi, je vous le dis, le royaume de Dieu vous sera enlevé, et sera donné à une nation qui en rendra les fruits.

⁴³על כן אני אמר לכם כי תקח מכם מלכות האלהים ותנתן לגוי אשר יעשה את פריה׃

⁴⁴And he that falleth on this stone shall be broken to pieces: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust.

⁴⁴Celui qui tombera sur cette pierre s'y brisera, et celui sur qui elle tombera sera écrasé.

⁴⁴והנפל על האבן ההיא ישבר ואשר תפל עליו תשחקהו׃

⁴⁵And when the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

⁴⁵Après avoir entendu ses paraboles, les principaux sacrificateurs et les pharisiens comprirent que c'était d'eux que Jésus parlait,

⁴⁵ויהי כשמע הכהנים הגדולים והפרושים את משליו ויבינו כי עליהם דבר׃

⁴⁶And when they sought to lay hold on him, they feared the multitudes, because they took him for a prophet.

⁴⁶et ils cherchaient à se saisir de lui; mais ils craignaient la foule, parce qu'elle le tenait pour un prophète.

⁴⁶ויבקשו לתפשו אך יראו מפני המון העם כי לנביא חשבהו׃
