¹And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these words, he said unto his disciples,

¹Lorsque Jésus eut achevé tous ces discours, il dit à ses disciples:

¹ויהי ככלות ישוע לדבר את כל הדברים האלה ויאמר אל תלמידיו׃

²Ye know that after two days the passover cometh, and the Son of man is delivered up to be crucified.

²Vous savez que la Pâque a lieu dans deux jours, et que le Fils de l'homme sera livré pour être crucifié.

²אתם ידעתם כי אחרי יומים יהיה הפסח ובן האדם ימסר להצלב׃

³Then were gathered together the chief priests, and the elders of the people, unto the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas;

³Alors les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens du peuple se réunirent dans la cour du souverain sacrificateur, appelé Caïphe;

³ויקהלו הכהנים הגדולים והסופרים וזקני העם אל חצר הכהן הגדול הנקרא קיפא׃

⁴and they took counsel together that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.

⁴et ils délibérèrent sur les moyens d'arrêter Jésus par ruse, et de le faire mourir.

⁴ויועצו יחדו לתפש את ישוע בערמה ולהמיתו׃

⁵But they said, Not during the feast, lest a tumult arise among people.

⁵Mais ils dirent: Que ce ne soit pas pendant la fête, afin qu'il n'y ait pas de tumulte parmi le peuple.

⁵ויאמרו אך לא בחג פן תהיה מהומה בעם׃

⁶Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

⁶Comme Jésus était à Béthanie, dans la maison de Simon le lépreux,

⁶ויהי בהיות ישוע בית היני בבית שמעון המצרע׃

⁷there came unto him a woman having an alabaster cruse of exceeding precious ointment, and she poured it upon his head, as he sat at meat.

⁷une femme s'approcha de lui, tenant un vase d'albâtre, qui renfermait un parfum de grand prix; et, pendant qu'il était à table, elle répandit le parfum sur sa tête.

⁷ותקרב אליו אשה ובידה פך שמן יקר מאד ותצק על ראשו בהסבו על השלחן׃

⁸But when the disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

⁸Les disciples, voyant cela, s'indignèrent, et dirent: A quoi bon cette perte?

⁸ויראו התלמידים ויתרעמו לאמר על מה האבוד הזה׃

⁹For this [ointment] might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

⁹On aurait pu vendre ce parfum très cher, et en donner le prix aux pauvres.

⁹כי השמן הזה היה ראוי להמכר במחיר רב ולתתו לעניים׃

¹⁰But Jesus perceiving it said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

¹⁰Jésus, s'en étant aperçu, leur dit: Pourquoi faites-vous de la peine à cette femme? Elle a fait une bonne action à mon égard;

¹⁰וידע ישוע ויאמר אליהם למה תוגו את האשה הלא מעשה טוב עשתה עמדי׃

¹¹For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

¹¹car vous avez toujours des pauvres avec vous, mais vous ne m'avez pas toujours.

¹¹כי עניים תמיד עמכם ואנכי אינני אתכם תמיד׃

¹²For in that she poured this ointment upon my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.

¹²En répandant ce parfum sur mon corps, elle l'a fait pour ma sépulture.

¹²כי אשר שפכה את השמן הזה על גופי לחנט אותי עשתה זאת׃

¹³Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, that also which this woman hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

¹³Je vous le dis en vérité, partout où cette bonne nouvelle sera prêchée, dans le monde entier, on racontera aussi en mémoire de cette femme ce qu'elle a fait.

¹³אמן אמר אני לכם באשר תקרא הבשורה הזאת בכל העולם גם את אשר היא עשתה יספר לזכרון לה׃

¹⁴Then one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

¹⁴Alors l'un des douze, appelé Judas Iscariot, alla vers les principaux sacrificateurs,

¹⁴וילך אחד משנים העשר הנקרא יהודה איש קריות אל ראשי הכהנים׃

¹⁵and said, What are ye willing to give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they weighed unto him thirty pieces of silver.

¹⁵et dit: Que voulez-vous me donner, et je vous le livrerai? Et ils lui payèrent trente pièces d'argent.

¹⁵ויאמר מה תתנו לי ואמסרנו בידכם וישקלו לו שלשים כסף׃

¹⁶And from that time he sought opportunity to deliver him [unto them.]

¹⁶Depuis ce moment, il cherchait une occasion favorable pour livrer Jésus.

¹⁶ומן העת ההיא בקש תאנה למסר אותו׃

¹⁷Now on the first [day] of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Where wilt thou that we make ready for thee to eat the passover?

¹⁷Le premier jour des pains sans levain, les disciples s'adressèrent à Jésus, pour lui dire: Où veux-tu que nous te préparions le repas de la Pâque?

¹⁷ויהי בראשון לחג המצות ויגשו התלמידים אל ישוע לאמר באי זה מקום תחפץ כי נכין לך לאכל את הפסח׃

¹⁸And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Teacher saith, My time is at hand; I keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

¹⁸Il répondit: Allez à la ville chez un tel, et vous lui direz: Le maître dit: Mon temps est proche; je ferai chez toi la Pâque avec mes disciples.

¹⁸ויאמר לכו העירה אל פלני אלמני ואמרתם אליו כה אמר הרב עתי קרובה היא ובביתך אעשה את הפסח עם תלמידי׃

¹⁹And the disciples did as Jesus appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

¹⁹Les disciples firent ce que Jésus leur avait ordonné, et ils préparèrent la Pâque.

¹⁹ויעשו התלמידים כאשר צום ישוע ויכינו את הפסח׃

²⁰Now when even was come, he was sitting at meat with the twelve disciples;

²⁰Le soir étant venu, il se mit à table avec les douze.

²⁰ויהי בערב ויסב עם שנים העשר׃

²¹and as they were eating, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

²¹Pendant qu'ils mangeaient, il dit: Je vous le dis en vérité, l'un de vous me livrera.

²¹ובאכלם ויאמר אמן אמר אני לכם כי אחד מכם ימסרני׃

²²And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began to say unto him every one, Is it I, Lord?

²²Ils furent profondément attristés, et chacun se mit à lui dire: Est-ce moi, Seigneur?

²²ויתעצבו מאד ויחלו איש ואיש לאמר לו האנכי הוא אדני׃

²³And he answered and said, He that dipped his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

²³Il répondit: Celui qui a mis avec moi la main dans le plat, c'est celui qui me livrera.

²³ויען ויאמר האיש אשר טבל עמי את ידו בקערה הוא ימסרני׃

²⁴The Son of man goeth, even as it is written of him: but woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had not been born.

²⁴Le Fils de l'homme s'en va, selon ce qui est écrit de lui. Mais malheur à l'homme par qui le Fils de l'homme est livré! Mieux vaudrait pour cet homme qu'il ne fût pas né.

²⁴הן בן האדם הלוך ילך לו ככתוב עליו אבל אוי לאיש ההוא אשר על ידו ימסר בן האדם טוב לאיש ההוא אם לא נולד׃

²⁵And Judas, who betrayed him, answered and said, Is it I, Rabbi? He saith unto him, Thou hast said.

²⁵Judas, qui le livrait, prit la parole et dit: Est-ce moi, Rabbi? Jésus lui répondit: Tu l'as dit.

²⁵ויען יהודה המסר אותו ויאמר רבי האני הוא ויאמר אליו אתה אמרת׃

²⁶And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it; and he gave to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

²⁶Pendant qu'ils mangeaient, Jésus prit du pain; et, après avoir rendu grâces, il le rompit, et le donna aux disciples, en disant: Prenez, mangez, ceci est mon corps.

²⁶ובאכלם ויקח ישוע את הלחם ויברך ויבצע ויתן לתלמידים ויאמר קחו ואכלו זה הוא גופי׃

²⁷And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

²⁷Il prit ensuite une coupe; et, après avoir rendu grâces, il la leur donna, en disant: Buvez-en tous;

²⁷ויקח את הכוס ויברך ויתן להם לאמר שתו ממנה כלכם׃

²⁸for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many unto remission of sins.

²⁸car ceci est mon sang, le sang de l'alliance, qui est répandu pour plusieurs, pour la rémission des péchés.

²⁸כי זה הוא דמי דם הברית החדשה הנשפך בעד רבים לסליחת חטאים׃

²⁹But I say unto you, I shall not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

²⁹Je vous le dis, je ne boirai plus désormais de ce fruit de la vigne, jusqu'au jour où j'en boirai du nouveau avec vous dans le royaume de mon Père.

²⁹ואני אמר לכם כי מעתה שתה לא אשתה מתנובת הגפן הזאת עד היום ההוא אשר אשתה אתה עמכם חדשה במלכות אבי׃

³⁰And when they had sung a hymn, they went out unto the mount of Olives.

³⁰Après avoir chanté les cantiques, ils se rendirent à la montagne des oliviers.

³⁰ויהי אחרי גמרם את ההלל ויצאו אל הר הזיתים׃

³¹Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended in me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

³¹Alors Jésus leur dit: Je serai pour vous tous, cette nuit, une occasion de chute; car il est écrit: Je frapperai le berger, et les brebis du troupeau seront dispersées.

³¹אז אמר אליהם ישוע אתם כלכם תכשלו בי בלילה הזה כי כתוב אכה את הרעה ותפוצין הצאן׃

³²But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee.

³²Mais, après que je serai ressuscité, je vous précèderai en Galilée.

³²ואחרי קומי אלך לפניכם הגלילה׃

³³But Peter answered and said unto him, If all shall be offended in thee, I will never be offended.

³³Pierre, prenant la parole, lui dit: Quand tu serais pour tous une occasion de chute, tu ne le seras jamais pour moi.

³³ויען פטרוס ויאמר לו גם כי יכשלו בך כלם אני לעולם לא אכשל׃

³⁴Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, that this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

³⁴Jésus lui dit: Je te le dis en vérité, cette nuit même, avant que le coq chante, tu me renieras trois fois.

³⁴ויאמר אליו ישוע אמן אמר אני לך כי בלילה הזה בטרם יקרא התרנגול תכחש בי שלש פעמים׃

³⁵Peter saith unto him, Even if I must die with thee, [yet] will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

³⁵Pierre lui répondit: Quand il me faudrait mourir avec toi, je ne te renierai pas. Et tous les disciples dirent la même chose.

³⁵ויאמר אליו פטרוס גם כי יהיה עלי למות אתך כחש לא אכחש בך וכן אמרו גם כל התלמידים׃

³⁶Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto his disciples, Sit ye here, while I go yonder and pray.

³⁶Là-dessus, Jésus alla avec eux dans un lieu appelé Gethsémané, et il dit aux disciples: Asseyez-vous ici, pendant que je m'éloignerai pour prier.

³⁶אחרי כן בא אתם ישוע אל חצר הנקרא גת שמני ויאמר אל התלמידים שבו לכם פה עד אשר אלך שמה והתפללתי׃

³⁷And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and sore troubled.

³⁷Il prit avec lui Pierre et les deux fils de Zébédée, et il commença à éprouver de la tristesse et des angoisses.

³⁷ויקח אתו את פטרוס ואת שני בני זבדי ויחל להעצב ולמוג׃

³⁸Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: abide ye here, and watch with me.

³⁸Il leur dit alors: Mon âme est triste jusqu'à la mort; restez ici, et veillez avec moi.

³⁸ויאמר להם נפשי מרה לי עד מות עמדו פה ושקדו עמי׃

³⁹And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.

³⁹Puis, ayant fait quelques pas en avant, il se jeta sur sa face, et pria ainsi: Mon Père, s'il est possible, que cette coupe s'éloigne de moi! Toutefois, non pas ce que je veux, mais ce que tu veux.

³⁹וילך מעט האלה ויפל על פניו ויתפלל לאמר אבי אם יוכל להיות תעבר נא מעלי הכוס הזאת אך לא כרצוני כי אם כרצונך׃

⁴⁰And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

⁴⁰Et il vint vers les disciples, qu'il trouva endormis, et il dit à Pierre: Vous n'avez donc pu veiller une heure avec moi!

⁴⁰ויבא אל התלמידים וימצאם ישנים ויאמר אל פטרוס הנה לא היה ביכלתכם לשקד עמי שעה אחת׃

⁴¹Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

⁴¹Veillez et priez, afin que vous ne tombiez pas dans la tentation; l'esprit est bien disposé, mais la chair est faible.

⁴¹שקדו והתפללו פן תבאו לידי נסיון הן הרוח היא חפצה והבשר הוא רפה׃

⁴²Again a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, My Father, if this cannot pass away, except I drink it, thy will be done.

⁴²Il s'éloigna une seconde fois, et pria ainsi: Mon Père, s'il n'est pas possible que cette coupe s'éloigne sans que je la boive, que ta volonté soit faite!

⁴²ויוסף ללכת לו שנית ויתפלל לאמר אבי אם לא תוכל הכוס הזאת לעבר ממני מבלי שתותי אתה יהי כרצונך׃

⁴³And he came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.

⁴³Il revint, et les trouva encore endormis; car leurs yeux étaient appesantis.

⁴³ויבא וימצאם גם בפעם הזאת ישנים כי עיניהם היו כבדות׃

⁴⁴And he left them again, and went away, and prayed a third time, saying again the same words.

⁴⁴Il les quitta, et, s'éloignant, il pria pour la troisième fois, répétant les mêmes paroles.

⁴⁴ויניחם ויוסף ללכת ויתפלל שלישית באמרו עוד הפעם כדבר הזה׃

⁴⁵Then cometh he to the disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

⁴⁵Puis il alla vers ses disciples, et leur dit: Vous dormez maintenant, et vous vous reposez! Voici, l'heure est proche, et le Fils de l'homme est livré aux mains des pécheurs.

⁴⁵ויבא אל התלמידים ויאמר אליהם נומו מעתה ונוחו הנה השעה קרובה ובן האדם נמסר לידי חטאים׃

⁴⁶Arise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that betrayeth me.

⁴⁶Levez-vous, allons; voici, celui qui me livre s'approche.

⁴⁶קומו ונלכה הנה הלך וקרב המסר אותי׃

⁴⁷And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priest and elders of the people.

⁴⁷Comme il parlait encore, voici, Judas, l'un des douze, arriva, et avec lui une foule nombreuse armée d'épées et de bâtons, envoyée par les principaux sacrificateurs et par les anciens du peuple.

⁴⁷עודנו מדבר והנה בא יהודה אחד משנים העשר ועמו המון רב ברחבות ובמקלות מאת ראשי הכהנים וזקני העם׃

⁴⁸Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he: take him.

⁴⁸Celui qui le livrait leur avait donné ce signe: Celui que je baiserai, c'est lui; saisissez-le.

⁴⁸והמסר אתו נתן להם אות לאמר האיש אשר אשקהו זה הוא תפשוהו׃

⁴⁹And straightway he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, Rabbi; and kissed him.

⁴⁹Aussitôt, s'approchant de Jésus, il dit: Salut, Rabbi! Et il le baisa.

⁴⁹ומיד נגש אל ישוע ויאמר שלום לך רבי וינשק לו׃

⁵⁰And Jesus said unto him, Friend, [do] that for which thou art come. Then they came and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

⁵⁰Jésus lui dit: Mon ami, ce que tu es venu faire, fais-le. Alors ces gens s'avancèrent, mirent la main sur Jésus, et le saisirent.

⁵⁰ויאמר אליו ישוע רעי על מה באת ויגשו וישלחו את ידיהם בישוע ויתפשו אתו׃

⁵¹And behold, one of them that were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his ear.

⁵¹Et voici, un de ceux qui étaient avec Jésus étendit la main, et tira son épée; il frappa le serviteur du souverain sacrificateur, et lui emporta l'oreille.

⁵¹והנה אחד מן האנשים אשר עם ישוע שלח ידו וישלף חרבו ויך את עבד הכהן הגדול ויקצץ את אזנו׃

⁵²Then saith Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into its place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

⁵²Alors Jésus lui dit: Remets ton épée à sa place; car tous ceux qui prendront l'épée périront par l'épée.

⁵²ויאמר אליו ישוע השב את חרבך אל תערה כי כל אחזי חרב בחרב יאבדו׃

⁵³Or thinkest thou that I cannot beseech my Father, and he shall even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?

⁵³Penses-tu que je ne puisse pas invoquer mon Père, qui me donnerait à l'instant plus de douze légions d'anges?

⁵³או היחשב לבך כי לא יכלתי לשאל עתה מאת אבי והוא יצוה לי יותר משנים עשר לגיונות של מלאכים׃

⁵⁴How then should the scriptures be fulfilled that thus it must be?

⁵⁴Comment donc s'accompliraient les Ecritures, d'après lesquelles il doit en être ainsi?

⁵⁴ואיככה אפוא ימלאו הכתובים כי כן היה תהיה׃

⁵⁵In that hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a robber with swords and staves to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and ye took me not.

⁵⁵En ce moment, Jésus dit à la foule: Vous êtes venus, comme après un brigand, avec des épées et des bâtons, pour vous emparer de moi. J'étais tous les jours assis parmi vous, enseignant dans le temple, et vous ne m'avez pas saisi.

⁵⁵בשעה ההיא אמר ישוע אל המון העם כעל פריץ יצאתם בחרבות ובמקלות לתפשני ויום יום הייתי ישב ומלמד אצלכם במקדש ולא החזקתם בי׃

⁵⁶But all this is come to pass, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples left him, and fled.

⁵⁶Mais tout cela est arrivé afin que les écrits des prophètes fussent accomplis. Alors tous les disciples l'abandonnèrent, et prirent la fuite.

⁵⁶וכל זאת היתה למלאת כתבי הנביאים אז עזבוהו התלמידים כלם וינוסו׃

⁵⁷And they that had taken Jesus led him away to [the house of] Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were gathered together.

⁵⁷Ceux qui avaient saisi Jésus l'emmenèrent chez le souverain sacrificateur Caïphe, où les scribes et les anciens étaient assemblés.

⁵⁷והאנשים אשר תפשו את ישוע הוליכהו אל קיפא הכהן הגדול אשר נקהלו שם הסופרים והזקנים׃

⁵⁸But Peter followed him afar off, unto the court of the high priest, and entered in, and sat with the officers, to see the end.

⁵⁸Pierre le suivit de loin jusqu'à la cour du souverain sacrificateur, y entra, et s'assit avec les serviteurs, pour voir comment cela finirait.

⁵⁸ופטרוס הלך אחריו מרחוק עד לחצר הכהן הגדול ויבא פנימה וישב לו אצל המשרתים לראות את אחרית הדבר׃

⁵⁹Now the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death;

⁵⁹Les principaux sacrificateurs et tout le sanhédrin cherchaient quelque faux témoignage contre Jésus, suffisant pour le faire mourir.

⁵⁹והכהנים הגדולים והסופרים וכל הסנהדרין בקשו עדות שקר בישוע להמיתו ולא מצאו׃

⁶⁰and they found it not, though many false witnesses came. But afterward came two,

⁶⁰Mais ils n'en trouvèrent point, quoique plusieurs faux témoins se fussent présentés. Enfin, il en vint deux,

⁶⁰ואף בעמד שם עדי שקר רבים לא מצאו ובאחרונה נגשו שני עדי שקר׃

⁶¹and said, This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

⁶¹qui dirent: Celui-ci a dit: Je puis détruire le temple de Dieu, et le rebâtir en trois jours.

⁶¹ויאמרו זה אמר יש ביכלתי להרס את היכל האלהים ולשוב לבנותו בשלשת ימים׃

⁶²And the high priest stood up, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

⁶²Le souverain sacrificateur se leva, et lui dit: Ne réponds-tu rien? Qu'est-ce que ces hommes déposent contre toi?

⁶²ויקם הכהן הגדול ויאמר אליו האינך משיב דבר על אשר ענו בך אלה׃

⁶³But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.

⁶³Jésus garda le silence. Et le souverain sacrificateur, prenant la parole, lui dit: Je t'adjure, par le Dieu vivant, de nous dire si tu es le Christ, le Fils de Dieu.

⁶³וישוע החריש ויען הכהן הגדול ויאמר לו משביעך אני באלהים חיים שתאמר לנו אם אתה הוא המשיח בן האלהים׃

⁶⁴Jesus said unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Henceforth ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

⁶⁴Jésus lui répondit: Tu l'as dit. De plus, je vous le déclare, vous verrez désormais le Fils de l'homme assis à la droite de la puissance de Dieu, et venant sur les nuées du ciel.

⁶⁴ויאמר אליו ישוע אתה אמרת אבל אני אמר לכם כי מעתה תראו את בן האדם ישב לימין הגבורה ובא עם ענני השמים׃

⁶⁵Then the high priest rent his garments, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy: what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard the blasphemy:

⁶⁵Alors le souverain sacrificateur déchira ses vêtements, disant: Il a blasphémé! Qu'avons-nous encore besoin de témoins? Voici, vous venez d'entendre son blasphème.

⁶⁵ויקרע הכהן הגדול את בגדיו ויאמר הוא גדף ומה לנו עוד לבקש עדים הנה עתה שמעתם את גדופו׃

⁶⁶what think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death.

⁶⁶Que vous en semble? Ils répondirent: Il mérite la mort.

⁶⁶מה דעתכם ויענו ויאמרו איש מות הוא׃

⁶⁷Then did they spit in his face and buffet him: and some smote him with the palms of their hands,

⁶⁷Là-dessus, ils lui crachèrent au visage, et lui donnèrent des coups de poing et des soufflets

⁶⁷וירקו בפניו ויכהו באגרוף ואחרים הכהו על הלחי׃

⁶⁸saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ: who is he that struck thee?

⁶⁸en disant: Christ, prophétise; dis-nous qui t'a frappé.

⁶⁸ויאמרו הנבא לנו המשיח מי הוא המכה אותך׃

⁶⁹Now Peter was sitting without in the court: and a maid came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus the Galilaean.

⁶⁹Cependant, Pierre était assis dehors dans la cour. Une servante s'approcha de lui, et dit: Toi aussi, tu étais avec Jésus le Galiléen.

⁶⁹ופטרוס ישב מחוץ לבית בחצר ותגש אליו שפחה לאמר גם אתה היית עם ישוע הגלילי׃

⁷⁰But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

⁷⁰Mais il le nia devant tous, disant: Je ne sais ce que tu veux dire.

⁷⁰ויכחש בפני כלם לאמר לא ידעתי מה את אמרת׃

⁷¹And when he was gone out into the porch, another [maid] saw him, and saith unto them that were there, This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.

⁷¹Comme il se dirigeait vers la porte, une autre servante le vit, et dit à ceux qui se trouvaient là; Celui-ci était aussi avec Jésus de Nazareth.

⁷¹ויצא אל פתח השער ותרא אותו אחרת ותאמר לאנשים אשר שם גם זה היה עם ישוע הנצרי׃

⁷²And again he denied with an oath, I know not the man.

⁷²Il le nia de nouveau, avec serment: Je ne connais pas cet homme.

⁷²ויוסף לכחש וישבע לאמר לא ידעתי את האיש׃

⁷³And after a little while they that stood by came and said to Peter, Of a truth thou also art [one] of them; for thy speech maketh thee known.

⁷³Peu après, ceux qui étaient là, s'étant approchés, dirent à Pierre: Certainement tu es aussi de ces gens-là, car ton langage te fait reconnaître.

⁷³וכמעט אחרי כן ויגשו העמדים שם ויאמרו אל פטרוס אמת כי גם אתה מהם כי גם לשונך מגלה אותך׃

⁷⁴Then began he to curse and to swear, I know not the man. And straightway the cock crew.

⁷⁴Alors il se mit à faire des imprécations et à jurer: Je ne connais pas cet homme. Aussitôt le coq chanta.

⁷⁴ויחל להחרים את נפשו ולהשבע לאמר לא ידעתי את האיש ומיד קרא התרנגול׃

⁷⁵And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

⁷⁵Et Pierre se souvint de la parole que Jésus avait dite: Avant que le coq chante, tu me renieras trois fois. Et étant sorti, il pleura amèrement.

⁷⁵ויזכר פטרוס את דבר ישוע אשר אמר אליו לאמר בטרם יקרא התרנגול תכחש בי שלש פעמים ויצא החוצה וימרר בבכי׃
