¹If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions,

¹Si donc il y a quelque consolation en Christ, s'il y a quelque soulagement dans la charité, s'il y a quelque union d'esprit, s'il y a quelque compassion et quelque miséricorde,

¹לכן אם יש תוכחה במשיח אם תנחומות האהבה אם התחברות הרוח אם רחמים וחמלה׃

²make full my joy, that ye be of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;

²rendez ma joie parfaite, ayant un même sentiment, un même amour, une même âme, une même pensée.

²השלימו נא את שמחתי בהיות לכם לב אחד ואהבה אחת ונפש אחת ורצון אחד׃

³[doing] nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;

³Ne faites rien par esprit de parti ou par vaine gloire, mais que l'humilité vous fasse regarder les autres comme étant au-dessus de vous-mêmes.

³ולא תעשו דבר בדרך מריבה או כבוד שוא כי אם בשפלות רוח תחשבו איש את רעהו יותר מעצמו׃

⁴not looking each of you to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

⁴Que chacun de vous, au lieu de considérer ses propres intérêts, considère aussi ceux des autres.

⁴כל אחד אל ידאג לאשר לו לבדו כי אם גם לאשר לחברו׃

⁵Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

⁵Ayez en vous les sentiments qui étaient en Jésus-Christ,

⁵כי הרוח ההיא אשר היתה במשיח תהי גם בכם׃

⁶who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped,

⁶lequel, existant en forme de Dieu, n'a point regardé comme une proie à arracher d'être égal avec Dieu,

⁶אשר אף כי היה בדמות האלהים לא חשב לו לשלל היותו שוה לאלהים׃

⁷but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;

⁷mais s'est dépouillé lui-même, en prenant une forme de serviteur, en devenant semblable aux hommes;

⁷כי אם הפשיט את עצמו וילבש דמות עבד וידמה לבני אדם וימצא בתכונתו כבן אדם׃

⁸and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient [even] unto death, yea, the death of the cross.

⁸et ayant paru comme un simple homme, il s'est humilié lui-même, se rendant obéissant jusqu'à la mort, même jusqu'à la mort de la croix.

⁸וישפל את נפשו ויכנע עד מות עד מיתת הצליבה׃

⁹Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name;

⁹C'est pourquoi aussi Dieu l'a souverainement élevé, et lui a donné le nom qui est au-dessus de tout nom,

⁹על כן גם האלהים הגביהו מאד ויתן לו שם נעלה על כל שם׃

¹⁰that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven and [things] on earth and [things] under the earth,

¹⁰afin qu'au nom de Jésus tout genou fléchisse dans les cieux, sur la terre et sous la terre,

¹⁰למען אשר בשם ישוע תכרע כל ברך אשר בשמים ובארץ ומתחת לארץ׃

¹¹and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹¹et que toute langue confesse que Jésus-Christ est Seigneur, à la gloire de Dieu le Père.

¹¹וכל לשון תודה כי אדון הוא ישוע המשיח לכבוד אלהים האב׃

¹²So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

¹²Ainsi, mes bien-aimés, comme vous avez toujours obéi, travaillez à votre salut avec crainte et tremblement, non seulement comme en ma présence, mais bien plus encore maintenant que je suis absent;

¹²לכן חביבי כאשר שמעתם לי בכל עת כן לא לבד בהיותי עמכם כי עוד יתר עתה אשר אני רחוק מכם תיגעו בתשועת נפשתיכם ביראה וברעדה׃

¹³for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

¹³car c'est Dieu qui produit en vous le vouloir et le faire, selon son bon plaisir.

¹³כי האלהים הוא הפעל בכם גם לחפץ גם לפעל כפי רצונו׃

¹⁴Do all things without murmurings and questionings:

¹⁴Faites toutes choses sans murmures ni hésitations,

¹⁴עשו כל דבר בלא תלנות ובלא מזמות׃

¹⁵that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye are seen as lights in the world,

¹⁵afin que vous soyez irréprochables et purs, des enfants de Dieu irrépréhensibles au milieu d'une génération perverse et corrompue, parmi laquelle vous brillez comme des flambeaux dans le monde,

¹⁵למען תהיו נקיים וטהורים בני אלהים לא מום בם בתוך דור עקש ופתלתל אשר תאירו ביניהם כמאורת בעולם׃

¹⁶holding forth the word of life; that I may have whereof to glory in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain neither labor in vain.

¹⁶portant la parole de vie; et je pourrai me glorifier, au jour de Christ, de n'avoir pas couru en vain ni travaillé en vain.

¹⁶מחזיקים בדבר החיים לתהלה לי ביום המשיח אשר לא לחנם רצתי ולא לריק יגעתי׃

¹⁷Yea, and if I am offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all:

¹⁷Et même si je sers de libation pour le sacrifice et pour le service de votre foi, je m'en réjouis, et je me réjouis avec vous tous.

¹⁷אבל אם גם אסך על זבח אמונתכם ועבודתה הנני שמח וגם שש עם כלכם׃

¹⁸and in the same manner do ye also joy, and rejoice with me.

¹⁸Vous aussi, réjouissez-vous de même, et réjouissez-vous avec moi.

¹⁸וככה שמחו אף אתם ושישו עמדי׃

¹⁹But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

¹⁹J'espère dans le Seigneur Jésus vous envoyer bientôt Timothée, afin d'être encouragé moi-même en apprenant ce qui vous concerne.

¹⁹וקויתי בישוע אדנינו לשלח במהרה אליכם את טימותיוס למען תנוח דעתי בהודע לי דבר מעמדכם׃

²⁰For I have no man likeminded, who will care truly for your state.

²⁰Car je n'ai personne ici qui partage mes sentiments, pour prendre sincèrement à coeur votre situation;

²⁰כי זולתו אין אתי איש כלבבי אשר בלב שלם ידאג לכם׃

²¹For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.

²¹tous, en effet, cherchent leurs propres intérêts, et non ceux de Jésus-Christ.

²¹כי כלם את אשר להם ידרשו ולא את אשר לישוע המשיח׃

²²But ye know the proof of him, that, as a child [serveth] a father, [so] he served with me in furtherance of the gospel.

²²Vous savez qu'il a été mis à l'épreuve, en se consacrant au service de l'Evangile avec moi, comme un enfant avec son père.

²²ואותו ידעתם כי בחון הוא אשר כבן העבד את אביו כן היה אתי בעבודת הבשורה׃

²³Him therefore I hope to send forthwith, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me:

²³J'espère donc vous l'envoyer dès que j'apercevrai l'issue de l'état où je suis;

²³ואתו אקוה לשלח אליכם מהר כאשר אראה מה יהיה לי׃

²⁴but I trust in the Lord that I myself also shall come shortly.

²⁴et j'ai cette confiance dans le Seigneur que moi-même aussi j'irai bientôt.

²⁴ובטחתי באדנינו אשר גם אנכי אבוא אליכם במהרה׃

²⁵But I counted it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow-worker and fellow-soldier, and your messenger and minister to my need;

²⁵J'ai estimé nécessaire de vous envoyer mon frère Epaphrodite, mon compagnon d'oeuvre et de combat, par qui vous m'avez fait parvenir de quoi pourvoir à mes besoins.

²⁵ואחשב מן הצרך לשלח אליכם את אפפרודיטוס אחי ועזרי וחברי בצבא והוא שליחכם ומשרתי בצרכי׃

²⁶since he longed after you all, and was sore troubled, because ye had heard that he was sick:

²⁶Car il désirait vous voir tous, et il était fort en peine de ce que vous aviez appris sa maladie.

²⁶יען היותו נכסף לכלכם ונעצב מאד על אשר שמעתם כי חלה׃

²⁷for indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow upon sorrow.

²⁷Il a été malade, en effet, et tout près de la mort; mais Dieu a eu pitié de lui, et non seulement de lui, mais aussi de moi, afin que je n'eusse pas tristesse sur tristesse.

²⁷אמנם חלה חלה וגם נטה למות אבל האלהים רחם עליו ולא עליו בלבד כי גם עלי רחם שלא יבוא עלי יגון על יגון׃

²⁸I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

²⁸Je l'ai donc envoyé avec d'autant plus d'empressement, afin que vous vous réjouissiez de le revoir, et que je sois moi-même moins triste.

²⁸לכן מהרתי לשלחו אליכם למען תראהו ותשובו לשמוח וגם ימעט יגוני׃

²⁹Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy; and hold such in honor:

²⁹Recevez-le donc dans le Seigneur avec une joie entière, et honorez de tels hommes.

²⁹על כן קבלהו באדנינו בכל שמחה והוקירוט אנשים כמהו׃

³⁰because for the work of Christ he came nigh unto death, hazarding his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.

³⁰Car c'est pour l'oeuvre de Christ qu'il a été près de la mort, ayant exposé sa vie afin de suppléer à votre absence dans le service que vous me rendiez.

³⁰כי בעבור מעשה המשיח הגיע עד מות ותקל נפשו בעיניו למען ימלא את אשר חסרתם בשרתכם אותי׃
