1For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of David the servant of Jehovah, who spake unto Jehovah the words of this song in the day that Jehovah delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: and he said, I love thee, O Jehovah, my strength.
1Au chef des chantres. Du serviteur de l'Eternel, de David, qui adressa à l'Eternel les paroles de ce cantique, lorsque l'Eternel l'eut délivré de la main de tous ses ennemis et de la main de Saül. Il dit: Je t'aime, ô Eternel, ma force!
1למנצח לעבד יהוה לדוד אשר דבר ליהוה את דברי השירה הזאת ביום הציל יהוה אותו מכף כל איביו ומיד שאול ויאמר ארחמך יהוה חזקי׃
2Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; My God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
2Eternel, mon rocher, ma forteresse, mon libérateur! Mon Dieu, mon rocher, où je trouve un abri! Mon bouclier, la force qui me sauve, ma haute retraite!
2יהוה סלעי ומצודתי ומפלטי אלי צורי אחסה בו מגני וקרן ישעי משגבי׃
3I will call upon Jehovah, who is worthy to be praised: So shall I be saved from mine enemies.
3Je m'écrie: Loué soit l'Eternel! Et je suis délivré de mes ennemis.
3מהלל אקרא יהוה ומן איבי אושע׃
4The cords of death compassed me, And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid.
4Les liens de la mort m'avaient environné, Et les torrents de la destruction m'avaient épouvanté;
4אפפוני חבלי מות ונחלי בליעל יבעתוני׃
5The cords of Sheol were round about me; The snares of death came upon me.
5Les liens du sépulcre m'avaient entouré, Les filets de la mort m'avaient surpris.
5חבלי שאול סבבוני קדמוני מוקשי מות׃
6In my distress I called upon Jehovah, And cried unto my God: He heard my voice out of his temple, And my cry before him came into his ears.
6Dans ma détresse, j'ai invoqué l'Eternel, J'ai crié à mon Dieu; De son palais, il a entendu ma voix, Et mon cri est parvenu devant lui à ses oreilles.
6בצר לי אקרא יהוה ואל אלהי אשוע ישמע מהיכלו קולי ושועתי לפניו תבוא באזניו׃
7Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations also of the mountains quaked And were shaken, because he was wroth.
7La terre fut ébranlée et trembla, Les fondements des montagnes frémirent, Et ils furent ébranlés, parce qu'il était irrité.
7ותגעש ותרעש הארץ ומוסדי הרים ירגזו ויתגעשו כי חרה לו׃
8There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, And fire out of his mouth devoured: Coals were kindled by it.
8Il s'élevait de la fumée dans ses narines, Et un feu dévorant sortait de sa bouche: Il en jaillissait des charbons embrasés.
8עלה עשן באפו ואש מפיו תאכל גחלים בערו ממנו׃
9He bowed the heavens also, and came down; And thick darkness was under his feet.
9Il abaissa les cieux, et il descendit: Il y avait une épaisse nuée sous ses pieds.
9ויט שמים וירד וערפל תחת רגליו׃
10And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly; Yea, he soared upon the wings of the wind.
10Il était monté sur un chérubin, et il volait, Il planait sur les ailes du vent.
10וירכב על כרוב ויעף וידא על כנפי רוח׃
11He made darkness his hiding-place, his pavilion round about him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
11Il faisait des ténèbres sa retraite, sa tente autour de lui, Il était enveloppé des eaux obscures et de sombres nuages.
11ישת חשך סתרו סביבותיו סכתו חשכת מים עבי שחקים׃
12At the brightness before him his thick clouds passed, Hailstones and coals of fire.
12De la splendeur qui le précédait s'échappaient les nuées, Lançant de la grêle et des charbons de feu.
12מנגה נגדו עביו עברו ברד וגחלי אש׃
13Jehovah also thundered in the heavens, And the Most High uttered his voice, Hailstones and coals of fire.
13L'Eternel tonna dans les cieux, Le Très-Haut fit retentir sa voix, Avec la grêle et les charbons de feu.
13וירעם בשמים יהוה ועליון יתן קלו ברד וגחלי אש׃
14And he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; Yea, lightnings manifold, and discomfited them.
14Il lança ses flèches et dispersa mes ennemis, Il multiplia les coups de la foudre et les mit en déroute.
14וישלח חציו ויפיצם וברקים רב ויהמם׃
15Then the channels of waters appeared, And the foundations of the world were laid bare, At thy rebuke, O Jehovah, At the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
15Le lit des eaux apparut, Les fondements du monde furent découverts, Par ta menace, ô Eternel! Par le bruit du souffle de tes narines.
15ויראו אפיקי מים ויגלו מוסדות תבל מגערתך יהוה מנשמת רוח אפך׃
16He sent from on high, he took me; He drew me out of many waters.
16Il étendit sa main d'en haut, il me saisit, Il me retira des grandes eaux;
16ישלח ממרום יקחני ימשני ממים רבים׃
17He delivered me from my strong enemy, And from them that hated me; for they were too mighty for me.
17Il me délivra de mon adversaire puissant, De mes ennemis qui étaient plus forts que moi.
17יצילני מאיבי עז ומשנאי כי אמצו ממני׃
18They came upon me in the day of my calamity; But Jehovah was my stay.
18Ils m'avaient surpris au jour de ma détresse; Mais l'Eternel fut mon appui.
18יקדמוני ביום אידי ויהי יהוה למשען לי׃
19He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because he delighted in me.
19Il m'a mis au large, Il m'a sauvé, parce qu'il m'aime.
19ויוציאני למרחב יחלצני כי חפץ בי׃
20Jehovah hath rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
20L'Eternel m'a traité selon ma droiture, Il m'a rendu selon la pureté de mes mains;
20יגמלני יהוה כצדקי כבר ידי ישיב לי׃
21For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, And have not wickedly departed from my God.
21Car j'ai observé les voies de l'Eternel, Et je n'ai point été coupable envers mon Dieu.
21כי שמרתי דרכי יהוה ולא רשעתי מאלהי׃
22For all his ordinances were before me, And I put not away his statutes from me.
22Toutes ses ordonnances ont été devant moi, Et je ne me suis point écarté de ses lois.
22כי כל משפטיו לנגדי וחקתיו לא אסיר מני׃
23I was also perfect with him, And I kept myself from mine iniquity.
23J'ai été sans reproche envers lui, Et je me suis tenu en garde contre mon iniquité.
23ואהי תמים עמו ואשתמר מעוני׃
24Therefore hath Jehovah recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
24Aussi l'Eternel m'a rendu selon ma droiture, Selon la pureté de mes mains devant ses yeux.
24וישב יהוה לי כצדקי כבר ידי לנגד עיניו׃
25With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful; With the perfect man thou wilt show thyself perfect;
25Avec celui qui est bon tu te montres bon, Avec l'homme droit tu agis selon la droiture,
25עם חסיד תתחסד עם גבר תמים תתמם׃
26With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; And with the perverse thou wilt show thyself froward.
26Avec celui qui est pur tu te montres pur, Et avec le pervers tu agis selon sa perversité.
26עם נבר תתברר ועם עקש תתפתל׃
27For thou wilt save the afflicted people; But the haughty eyes thou wilt bring down.
27Tu sauves le peuple qui s'humilie, Et tu abaisses les regards hautains.
27כי אתה עם עני תושיע ועינים רמות תשפיל׃
28For thou wilt light my lamp: Jehovah my God will lighten my darkness.
28Oui, tu fais briller ma lumière; L'Eternel, mon Dieu, éclaire mes ténèbres.
28כי אתה תאיר נרי יהוה אלהי יגיה חשכי׃
29For by thee I run upon a troop; And by my God do I leap over a wall.
29Avec toi je me précipite sur une troupe en armes, Avec mon Dieu je franchis une muraille.
29כי בך ארץ גדוד ובאלהי אדלג שור׃
30As for God, his way is perfect: The word of Jehovah is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in him.
30Les voies de Dieu sont parfaites, La parole de l'Eternel est éprouvée; Il est un bouclier pour tous ceux qui se confient en lui.
30האל תמים דרכו אמרת יהוה צרופה מגן הוא לכל החסים בו׃
31For who is God, save Jehovah? And who is a rock, besides our God,
31Car qui est Dieu, si ce n'est l'Eternel; Et qui est un rocher, si ce n'est notre Dieu?
31כי מי אלוה מבלעדי יהוה ומי צור זולתי אלהינו׃
32The God that girdeth me with strength, And maketh my way perfect?
32C'est Dieu qui me ceint de force, Et qui me conduit dans la voie droite.
32האל המאזרני חיל ויתן תמים דרכי׃
33He maketh my feet like hinds' [feet]: And setteth me upon my high places.
33Il rend mes pieds semblables à ceux des biches, Et il me place sur mes lieux élevés.
33משוה רגלי כאילות ועל במתי יעמידני׃
34He teacheth my hands to war; So that mine arms do bend a bow of brass.
34Il exerce mes mains au combat, Et mes bras tendent l'arc d'airain.
34מלמד ידי למלחמה ונחתה קשת נחושה זרועתי׃
35Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation; And thy right hand hath holden me up, And thy gentleness hath made me great.
35Tu me donnes le bouclier de ton salut, Ta droite me soutient, Et je deviens grand par ta bonté.
35ותתן לי מגן ישעך וימינך תסעדני וענותך תרבני׃
36Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.
36Tu élargis le chemin sous mes pas, Et mes pieds ne chancellent point.
36תרחיב צעדי תחתי ולא מעדו קרסלי׃
37I will pursue mine enemies, and overtake them; Neither will I turn again till they are consumed.
37Je poursuis mes ennemis, je les atteins, Et je ne reviens pas avant de les avoir anéantis.
37ארדוף אויבי ואשיגם ולא אשוב עד כלותם׃
38I will smite them through, so that they shall not be able to rise: They shall fall under my feet.
38Je les brise, et ils ne peuvent se relever; Ils tombent sous mes pieds.
38אמחצם ולא יכלו קום יפלו תחת רגלי׃
39For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
39Tu me ceins de force pour le combat, Tu fais plier sous moi mes adversaires.
39ותאזרני חיל למלחמה תכריע קמי תחתי׃
40Thou hast also made mine enemies turn their backs unto me, That I might cut off them that hate me.
40Tu fais tourner le dos à mes ennemis devant moi, Et j'extermine ceux qui me haïssent.
40ואיבי נתתה לי ערף ומשנאי אצמיתם׃
41They cried, but there was none to save; Even unto Jehovah, but he answered them not.
41Ils crient, et personne pour les sauver! Ils crient à l'Eternel, et il ne leur répond pas!
41ישועו ואין מושיע על יהוה ולא ענם׃
42Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind; I did cast them out as the mire of the streets.
42Je les broie comme la poussière qu'emporte le vent, Je les foule comme la boue des rues.
42ואשחקם כעפר על פני רוח כטיט חוצות אריקם׃
43Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; Thou hast made me the head of the nations: A people whom I have not known shall serve me.
43Tu me délivres des dissensions du peuple; Tu me mets à la tête des nations; Un peuple que je ne connaissais pas m'est asservi.
43תפלטני מריבי עם תשימני לראש גוים עם לא ידעתי יעבדוני׃
44As soon as they hear of me they shall obey me; The foreigners shall submit themselves unto me.
44Ils m'obéissent au premier ordre, Les fils de l'étranger me flattent;
44לשמע אזן ישמעו לי בני נכר יכחשו לי׃
45The foreigners shall fade away, And shall come trembling out of their close places.
45Les fils de l'étranger sont en défaillance, Ils tremblent hors de leurs forteresses.
45בני נכר יבלו ויחרגו ממסגרותיהם׃
46Jehovah liveth; and blessed be my rock; And exalted be the God of my salvation,
46Vive l'Eternel, et béni soit mon rocher! Que le Dieu de mon salut soit exalté,
46חי יהוה וברוך צורי וירום אלוהי ישעי׃
47Even the God that executeth vengeance for me, And subdueth peoples under me.
47Le Dieu qui est mon vengeur, Qui m'assujettit les peuples,
47האל הנותן נקמות לי וידבר עמים תחתי׃
48He rescueth me from mine enemies; Yea, thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me; Thou deliverest me from the violent man.
48Qui me délivre de mes ennemis! Tu m'élèves au-dessus de mes adversaires, Tu me sauves de l'homme violent.
48מפלטי מאיבי אף מן קמי תרוממני מאיש חמס תצילני׃
49Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Jehovah, among the nations, And will sing praises unto thy name.
49C'est pourquoi je te louerai parmi les nations, ô Eternel! Et je chanterai à la gloire de ton nom.
49על כן אודך בגוים יהוה ולשמך אזמרה׃
50Great deliverance giveth he to his king, And showeth lovingkindness to his anointed, To David and to his seed, for evermore.
50Il accorde de grandes délivrances à son roi, Et il fait miséricorde à son oint, A David, et à sa postérité, pour toujours.
50מגדל ישועות מלכו ועשה חסד למשיחו לדוד ולזרעו עד עולם׃
