¹A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. O Jehovah, rebuke me not in thy wrath; Neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

¹Psaume de David. Pour souvenir. Eternel! ne me punis pas dans ta colère, Et ne me châtie pas dans ta fureur.

¹מזמור לדוד להזכיר יהוה אל בקצפך תוכיחני ובחמתך תיסרני׃

²For thine arrows stick fast in me, And thy hand presseth me sore.

²Car tes flèches m'ont atteint, Et ta main s'est appesantie sur moi.

²כי חציך נחתו בי ותנחת עלי ידך׃

³There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine indignation; Neither is there any health in my bones because of my sin.

³Il n'y a rien de sain dans ma chair à cause de ta colère, Il n'y a plus de vigueur dans mes os à cause de mon péché.

³אין מתם בבשרי מפני זעמך אין שלום בעצמי מפני חטאתי׃

⁴For mine iniquities are gone over my head: As a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

⁴Car mes iniquités s'élèvent au-dessus de ma tête; Comme un lourd fardeau, elles sont trop pesantes pour moi.

⁴כי עונתי עברו ראשי כמשא כבד יכבדו ממני׃

⁵My wounds are loathsome and corrupt, Because of my foolishness.

⁵Mes plaies sont infectes et purulentes, Par l'effet de ma folie.

⁵הבאישו נמקו חבורתי מפני אולתי׃

⁶I am pained and bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

⁶Je suis courbé, abattu au dernier point; Tout le jour je marche dans la tristesse.

⁶נעויתי שחתי עד מאד כל היום קדר הלכתי׃

⁷For my loins are filled with burning; And there is no soundness in my flesh.

⁷Car un mal brûlant dévore mes entrailles, Et il n'y a rien de sain dans ma chair.

⁷כי כסלי מלאו נקלה ואין מתם בבשרי׃

⁸I am faint and sore bruised: I have groaned by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

⁸Je suis sans force, entièrement brisé; Le trouble de mon coeur m'arrache des gémissements.

⁸נפוגותי ונדכיתי עד מאד שאגתי מנהמת לבי׃

⁹Lord, all my desire is before thee; And my groaning is not hid from thee.

⁹Seigneur! tous mes désirs sont devant toi, Et mes soupirs ne te sont point cachés.

⁹אדני נגדך כל תאותי ואנחתי ממך לא נסתרה׃

¹⁰My heart throbbeth, my strength faileth me: As for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

¹⁰Mon coeur est agité, ma force m'abandonne, Et la lumière de mes yeux n'est plus même avec moi.

¹⁰לבי סחרחר עזבני כחי ואור עיני גם הם אין אתי׃

¹¹My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my plague; And my kinsmen stand afar off.

¹¹Mes amis et mes connaissances s'éloignent de ma plaie, Et mes proches se tiennent à l'écart.

¹¹אהבי ורעי מנגד נגעי יעמדו וקרובי מרחק עמדו׃

¹²They also that seek after my life lay snares [for me]; And they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, And meditate deceits all the day long.

¹²Ceux qui en veulent à ma vie tendent leurs pièges; Ceux qui cherchent mon malheur disent des méchancetés, Et méditent tout le jour des tromperies.

¹²וינקשו מבקשי נפשי ודרשי רעתי דברו הוות ומרמות כל היום יהגו׃

¹³But I, as a deaf man, hear not; And I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

¹³Et moi, je suis comme un sourd, je n'entends pas; Je suis comme un muet, qui n'ouvre pas la bouche.

¹³ואני כחרש לא אשמע וכאלם לא יפתח פיו׃

¹⁴Yea, I am as a man that heareth not, And in whose mouth are no reproofs.

¹⁴Je suis comme un homme qui n'entend pas, Et dans la bouche duquel il n'y a point de réplique.

¹⁴ואהי כאיש אשר לא שמע ואין בפיו תוכחות׃

¹⁵For in thee, O Jehovah, do I hope: Thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.

¹⁵Eternel! c'est en toi que j'espère; Tu répondras, Seigneur, mon Dieu!

¹⁵כי לך יהוה הוחלתי אתה תענה אדני אלהי׃

¹⁶For I said, Lest they rejoice over me: When my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

¹⁶Car je dis: Ne permets pas qu'ils se réjouissent à mon sujet, Qu'ils s'élèvent contre moi, si mon pied chancelle!

¹⁶כי אמרתי פן ישמחו לי במוט רגלי עלי הגדילו׃

¹⁷For I am ready to fall, And my sorrow is continually before me.

¹⁷Car je suis près de tomber, Et ma douleur est toujours devant moi.

¹⁷כי אני לצלע נכון ומכאובי נגדי תמיד׃

¹⁸For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

¹⁸Car je reconnais mon iniquité, Je suis dans la crainte à cause de mon péché.

¹⁸כי עוני אגיד אדאג מחטאתי׃

¹⁹But mine enemies are lively, [and] are strong; And they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

¹⁹Et mes ennemis sont pleins de vie, pleins de force; Ceux qui me haïssent sans cause sont nombreux.

¹⁹ואיבי חיים עצמו ורבו שנאי שקר׃

²⁰They also that render evil for good Are adversaries unto me, because I follow the thing that is good.

²⁰Ils me rendent le mal pour le bien; Ils sont mes adversaires, parce que je recherche le bien.

²⁰ומשלמי רעה תחת טובה ישטנוני תחת רדופי טוב׃

²¹Forsake me not, O Jehovah: O my God, be not far from me.

²¹Ne m'abandonne pas, Eternel! Mon Dieu, ne t'éloigne pas de moi!

²¹אל תעזבני יהוה אלהי אל תרחק ממני׃

²²Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation.

²²Viens en hâte à mon secours, Seigneur, mon salut!

²²חושה לעזרתי אדני תשועתי׃
