1For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for Jehovah; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
1Au chef des chantres. De David. Psaume. J'avais mis en l'Eternel mon espérance; Et il s'est incliné vers moi, il a écouté mes cris.
1למנצח לדוד מזמור קוה קויתי יהוה ויט אלי וישמע שועתי׃
2He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
2Il m'a retiré de la fosse de destruction, Du fond de la boue; Et il a dressé mes pieds sur le roc, Il a affermi mes pas.
2ויעלני מבור שאון מטיט היון ויקם על סלע רגלי כונן אשרי׃
3And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, And shall trust in Jehovah.
3Il a mis dans ma bouche un cantique nouveau, Une louange à notre Dieu; Beaucoup l'ont vu, et ont eu de la crainte, Et ils se sont confiés en l'Eternel.
3ויתן בפי שיר חדש תהלה לאלהינו יראו רבים וייראו ויבטחו ביהוה׃
4Blessed is the man that maketh Jehovah his trust, And respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
4Heureux l'homme qui place en l'Eternel sa confiance, Et qui ne se tourne pas vers les hautains et les menteurs!
4אשרי הגבר אשר שם יהוה מבטחו ולא פנה אל רהבים ושטי כזב׃
5Many, O Jehovah my God, are the wonderful works which thou hast done, And thy thoughts which are to us-ward; They cannot be set in order unto thee; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered.
5Tu as multiplié, Eternel, mon Dieu! Tes merveilles et tes desseins en notre faveur; Nul n'est comparable à toi; Je voudrais les publier et les proclamer, Mais leur nombre est trop grand pour que je les raconte.
5רבות עשית אתה יהוה אלהי נפלאתיך ומחשבתיך אלינו אין ערך אליך אגידה ואדברה עצמו מספר׃
6Sacrifice and offering thou hast no delight in; Mine ears hast thou opened: Burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not required.
6Tu ne désires ni sacrifice ni offrande, Tu m'as ouvert les oreilles; Tu ne demandes ni holocauste ni victime expiatoire.
6זבח ומנחה לא חפצת אזנים כרית לי עולה וחטאה לא שאלת׃
7Then said I, Lo, I am come; In the roll of the book it is written of me:
7Alors je dis: Voici, je viens Avec le rouleau du livre écrit pour moi.
7אז אמרתי הנה באתי במגלת ספר כתוב עלי׃
8I delight to do thy will, O my God; Yea, thy law is within my heart.
8Je veux faire ta volonté, mon Dieu! Et ta loi est au fond de mon coeur.
8לעשות רצונך אלהי חפצתי ותורתך בתוך מעי׃
9I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great assembly; Lo, I will not refrain my lips, O Jehovah, thou knowest.
9J'annonce la justice dans la grande assemblée; Voici, je ne ferme pas mes lèvres, Eternel, tu le sais!
9בשרתי צדק בקהל רב הנה שפתי לא אכלא יהוה אתה ידעת׃
10I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation; I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great assembly.
10Je ne retiens pas dans mon coeur ta justice, Je publie ta vérité et ton salut; Je ne cache pas ta bonté et ta fidélité Dans la grande assemblée.
10צדקתך לא כסיתי בתוך לבי אמונתך ותשועתך אמרתי לא כחדתי חסדך ואמתך לקהל רב׃
11Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Jehovah; Let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
11Toi, Eternel! tu ne me refuseras pas tes compassions; Ta bonté et ta fidélité me garderont toujours.
11אתה יהוה לא תכלא רחמיך ממני חסדך ואמתך תמיד יצרוני׃
12For innumerable evils have compassed me about; Mine iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; They are more than the hairs of my head; And my heart hath failed me.
12Car des maux sans nombre m'environnent; Les châtiments de mes iniquités m'atteignent, Et je ne puis en supporter la vue; Ils sont plus nombreux que les cheveux de ma tête, Et mon courage m'abandonne.
12כי אפפו עלי רעות עד אין מספר השיגוני עונתי ולא יכלתי לראות עצמו משערות ראשי ולבי עזבני׃
13Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me: Make haste to help me, O Jehovah.
13Veuille me délivrer, ô Eternel! Eternel, viens en hâte à mon secours!
13רצה יהוה להצילני יהוה לעזרתי חושה׃
14Let them be put to shame and confounded together That seek after my soul to destroy it: Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor That delight in my hurt.
14Que tous ensemble ils soient honteux et confus, Ceux qui en veulent à ma vie pour l'enlever! Qu'ils reculent et rougissent, Ceux qui désirent ma perte!
14יבשו ויחפרו יחד מבקשי נפשי לספותה יסגו אחור ויכלמו חפצי רעתי׃
15Let them be desolate by reason of their shame That say unto me, Aha, aha.
15Qu'ils soient dans la stupeur par l'effet de leur honte, Ceux qui me disent: Ah! ah!
15ישמו על עקב בשתם האמרים לי האח האח׃
16Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: Let such as love thy salvation say continually, Jehovah be magnified.
16Que tous ceux qui te cherchent Soient dans l'allégresse et se réjouissent en toi! Que ceux qui aiment ton salut Disent sans cesse: Exalté soit l'Eternel!
16ישישו וישמחו בך כל מבקשיך יאמרו תמיד יגדל יהוה אהבי תשועתך׃
17But I am poor and needy; [Yet] the Lord thinketh upon me: Thou art my help and my deliverer; Make no tarrying, O my God.
17Moi, je suis pauvre et indigent; Mais le Seigneur pense à moi. Tu es mon aide et mon libérateur: Mon Dieu, ne tarde pas!
17ואני עני ואביון אדני יחשב לי עזרתי ומפלטי אתה אלהי אל תאחר׃
