1For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David; when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: According to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
1Au chef des chantres. Psaume de David. Lorsque Nathan, le prophète, vint à lui, après que David fut allé vers Bath-Schéba. O Dieu! aie pitié de moi dans ta bonté; Selon ta grande miséricorde, efface mes transgressions;
1למנצח מזמור לדוד בבוא אליו נתן הנביא כאשר בא אל בת שבע חנני אלהים כחסדך כרב רחמיך מחה פשעי׃
2Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.
2Lave-moi complètement de mon iniquité, Et purifie-moi de mon péché.
2הרבה כבסני מעוני ומחטאתי טהרני׃
3For I know my transgressions; And my sin is ever before me.
3Car je reconnais mes transgressions, Et mon péché est constamment devant moi.
3כי פשעי אני אדע וחטאתי נגדי תמיד׃
4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, And done that which is evil in thy sight; That thou mayest be justified when thou speakest, And be clear when thou judgest.
4J'ai péché contre toi seul, Et j'ai fait ce qui est mal à tes yeux, En sorte que tu seras juste dans ta sentence, Sans reproche dans ton jugement.
4לך לבדך חטאתי והרע בעיניך עשיתי למען תצדק בדברך תזכה בשפטך׃
5Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me.
5Voici, je suis né dans l'iniquité, Et ma mère m'a conçu dans le péché.
5הן בעוון חוללתי ובחטא יחמתני אמי׃
6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts; And in the hidden part thou wilt make me to know wisdom.
6Mais tu veux que la vérité soit au fond du coeur: Fais donc pénétrer la sagesse au dedans de moi!
6הן אמת חפצת בטחות ובסתם חכמה תודיעני׃
7Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
7Purifie-moi avec l'hysope, et je serai pur; Lave-moi, et je serai plus blanc que la neige.
7תחטאני באזוב ואטהר תכבסני ומשלג אלבין׃
8Make me to hear joy and gladness, That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
8Annonce-moi l'allégresse et la joie, Et les os que tu as brisés se réjouiront.
8תשמיעני ששון ושמחה תגלנה עצמות דכית׃
9Hide thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities.
9Détourne ton regard de mes péchés, Efface toutes mes iniquités.
9הסתר פניך מחטאי וכל עונתי מחה׃
10Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me.
10O Dieu! crée en moi un coeur pur, Renouvelle en moi un esprit bien disposé.
10לב טהור ברא לי אלהים ורוח נכון חדש בקרבי׃
11Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy Spirit from me.
11Ne me rejette pas loin de ta face, Ne me retire pas ton esprit saint.
11אל תשליכני מלפניך ורוח קדשך אל תקח ממני׃
12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with a willing spirit.
12Rends-moi la joie de ton salut, Et qu'un esprit de bonne volonté me soutienne!
12השיבה לי ששון ישעך ורוח נדיבה תסמכני׃
13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And sinners shall be converted unto thee.
13J'enseignerai tes voies à ceux qui les transgressent, Et les pécheurs reviendront à toi.
13אלמדה פשעים דרכיך וחטאים אליך ישובו׃
14Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation; [And] my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
14O Dieu, Dieu de mon salut! délivre-moi du sang versé, Et ma langue célébrera ta miséricorde.
14הצילני מדמים אלהים אלהי תשועתי תרנן לשוני צדקתך׃
15O Lord, open thou my lips; And my mouth shall show forth thy praise.
15Seigneur! ouvre mes lèvres, Et ma bouche publiera ta louange.
15אדני שפתי תפתח ופי יגיד תהלתך׃
16For thou delightest not in sacrifice; else would I give it: Thou hast no pleasure in burnt-offering.
16Si tu eusses voulu des sacrifices, je t'en aurais offert; Mais tu ne prends point plaisir aux holocaustes.
16כי לא תחפץ זבח ואתנה עולה לא תרצה׃
17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
17Les sacrifices qui sont agréables à Dieu, c'est un esprit brisé: O Dieu! tu ne dédaignes pas un coeur brisé et contrit.
17זבחי אלהים רוח נשברה לב נשבר ונדכה אלהים לא תבזה׃
18Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: Build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
18Répands par ta grâce tes bienfaits sur Sion, Bâtis les murs de Jérusalem!
18היטיבה ברצונך את ציון תבנה חומות ירושלם׃
19Then will thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, In burnt-offering and in whole burnt-offering: Then will they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
19Alors tu agréeras des sacrifices de justice, Des holocaustes et des victimes tout entières; Alors on offrira des taureaux sur ton autel.
19אז תחפץ זבחי צדק עולה וכליל אז יעלו על מזבחך פרים׃
