1For the Chief Musician; set to Mahalath. Maschil of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none that doeth good.
1Au chef des chantres. Sur la flûte. Cantique de David. L'insensé dit en son coeur: Il n'y a point de Dieu! Ils se sont corrompus, ils ont commis des iniquités abominables; Il n'en est aucun qui fasse le bien.
1למנצח על מחלת משכיל לדוד אמר נבל בלבו אין אלהים השחיתו והתעיבו עול אין עשה טוב׃
2God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, That did seek after God.
2Dieu, du haut des cieux, regarde les fils de l'homme, Pour voir s'il y a quelqu'un qui soit intelligent, Qui cherche Dieu.
2אלהים משמים השקיף על בני אדם לראות היש משכיל דרש את אלהים׃
3Every one of them is gone back; they are together become filthy; There is none that doeth good, no, not one.
3Tous sont égarés, tous sont pervertis; Il n'en est aucun qui fasse le bien, Pas même un seul.
3כלו סג יחדו נאלחו אין עשה טוב אין גם אחד׃
4Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people [as] they eat bread, And call not upon God?
4Ceux qui commettent l'iniquité ont-ils perdu le sens? Ils dévorent mon peuple, ils le prennent pour nourriture; Ils n'invoquent point Dieu.
4הלא ידעו פעלי און אכלי עמי אכלו לחם אלהים לא קראו׃
5There were they in great fear, where no fear was; For God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: Thou hast put them to shame, because of God hath rejected them.
5Alors ils trembleront d'épouvante, Sans qu'il y ait sujet d'épouvante; Dieu dispersera les os de ceux qui campent contre toi; Tu les confondras, car Dieu les a rejetés.
5שם פחדו פחד לא היה פחד כי אלהים פזר עצמות חנך הבשתה כי אלהים מאסם׃
6Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Then shall Jacob rejoice, [and] Israel shall be glad.
6Oh! qui fera partir de Sion la délivrance d'Israël? Quand Dieu ramènera les captifs de son peuple, Jacob sera dans l'allégresse, Israël se réjouira.
