¹למנצח על שושן עדות מכתם לדוד ללמד בהצותו את ארם נהרים ואת ארם צובה וישב יואב ויך את אדום בגיא מלח שנים עשר אלף אלהים זנחתנו פרצתנו אנפת תשובב לנו׃

²Thou hast made the land to tremble; thou hast rent it: Heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

²הרעשתה ארץ פצמתה רפה שבריה כי מטה׃

³Thou hast showed thy people hard things: Thou hast made us to drink the wine of staggering.

³Tu as fait voir à ton peuple des choses dures, Tu nous as abreuvés d'un vin d'étourdissement.

³הראיתה עמך קשה השקיתנו יין תרעלה׃

⁴Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah

⁴נתתה ליראיך נס להתנוסס מפני קשט סלה׃

⁵That thy beloved may be delivered, Save with thy right hand, and answer us.

⁵למען יחלצון ידידיך הושיעה ימינך ועננו׃

⁶God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult; I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

⁶Dieu a dit dans sa sainteté: Je triompherai, Je partagerai Sichem, je mesurerai la vallée de Succoth;

⁶אלהים דבר בקדשו אעלזה אחלקה שכם ועמק סכות אמדד׃

⁷Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the defence of my head; Judah is my sceptre.

⁷A moi Galaad, à moi Manassé; Ephraïm est le rempart de ma tête, Et Juda, mon sceptre;

⁷לי גלעד ולי מנשה ואפרים מעוז ראשי יהודה מחקקי׃

⁸Moab is my washpot; Upon Edom will I cast my shoe: Philistia, shout thou because of me.

⁸Moab est le bassin où je me lave; Je jette mon soulier sur Edom; Pays des Philistins, pousse à mon sujet des cris de joie! -

⁸מואב סיר רחצי על אדום אשליך נעלי עלי פלשת התרעעי׃

⁹Who will bring me into the strong city? Who hath led me unto Edom?

⁹Qui me mènera dans la ville forte? Qui me conduira à Edom?

⁹מי יבלני עיר מצור מי נחני עד אדום׃

¹⁰Hast not thou, O God, cast us off? And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.

¹⁰N'est-ce pas toi, ô Dieu, qui nous as repoussés, Et qui ne sortais plus, ô Dieu, avec nos armées?

¹⁰הלא אתה אלהים זנחתנו ולא תצא אלהים בצבאותינו׃

¹¹Give us help against the adversary; For vain is the help of man.

¹¹Donne-nous du secours contre la détresse! Le secours de l'homme n'est que vanité.

¹¹הבה לנו עזרת מצר ושוא תשועת אדם׃

¹²Through God we shall do valiantly; For he it is that will tread down our adversaries.

¹²Avec Dieu, nous ferons des exploits; Il écrasera nos ennemis.

¹²באלהים נעשה חיל והוא יבוס צרינו׃
