¹For the Chief Musician. A Psalm. A song of David. Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Zion; And unto thee shall the vow be performed.

¹Au chef des chantres. Psaume de David. Cantique. Avec confiance, ô Dieu! on te louera dans Sion, Et l'on accomplira les voeux qu'on t'a faits.

¹למנצח מזמור לדוד שיר לך דמיה תהלה אלהים בציון ולך ישלם נדר׃

²O thou that hearest prayer, Unto thee shall all flesh come.

²O toi, qui écoutes la prière! Tous les hommes viendront à toi.

²שמע תפלה עדיך כל בשר יבאו׃

³Iniquities prevail against me: As for our transgressions, thou wilt forgive them.

³Les iniquités m'accablent: Tu pardonneras nos transgressions.

³דברי עונת גברו מני פשעינו אתה תכפרם׃

⁴Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach [unto thee], That he may dwell in thy courts: We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, Thy holy temple.

⁴Heureux celui que tu choisis et que tu admets en ta présence, Pour qu'il habite dans tes parvis! Nous nous rassasierons du bonheur de ta maison, De la sainteté de ton temple.

⁴אשרי תבחר ותקרב ישכן חצריך נשבעה בטוב ביתך קדש היכלך׃

⁵By terrible things thou wilt answer us in righteousness, Oh God of our salvation, Thou that art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, And of them that are afar off upon the sea:

⁵Dans ta bonté, tu nous exauces par des prodiges, Dieu de notre salut, Espoir de toutes les extrémités lointaines de la terre et de la mer!

⁵נוראות בצדק תעננו אלהי ישענו מבטח כל קצוי ארץ וים רחקים׃

⁶Who by his strength setteth fast the mountains, Being girded about with might;

⁶Il affermit les montagnes par sa force, Il est ceint de puissance;

⁶מכין הרים בכחו נאזר בגבורה׃

⁷Who stilleth the roaring of the seas, The roaring of their waves, And the tumult of the peoples.

⁷Il apaise le mugissement des mers, le mugissement de leurs flots, Et le tumulte des peuples.

⁷משביח שאון ימים שאון גליהם והמון לאמים׃

⁸They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: Thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.

⁸Ceux qui habitent aux extrémités du monde s'effraient de tes prodiges; Tu remplis d'allégresse l'orient et l'occident.

⁸וייראו ישבי קצות מאותתיך מוצאי בקר וערב תרנין׃

⁹Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it, Thou greatly enrichest it; The river of God is full of water: Thou providest them grain, when thou hast so prepared the earth.

⁹Tu visites la terre et tu lui donnes l'abondance, Tu la combles de richesses; Le ruisseau de Dieu est plein d'eau; Tu prépares le blé, quand tu la fertilises ainsi.

⁹פקדת הארץ ותשקקה רבת תעשרנה פלג אלהים מלא מים תכין דגנם כי כן תכינה׃

¹⁰Thou waterest its furrows abundantly; Thou settlest the ridges thereof: Thou makest it soft with showers; Thou blessest the springing thereof.

¹⁰En arrosant ses sillons, en aplanissant ses mottes, Tu la détrempes par des pluies, tu bénis son germe.

¹⁰תלמיה רוה נחת גדודיה ברביבים תמגגנה צמחה תברך׃

¹¹Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; And thy paths drop fatness.

¹¹Tu couronnes l'année de tes biens, Et tes pas versent l'abondance;

¹¹עטרת שנת טובתך ומעגליך ירעפון דשן׃

¹²They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness; And the hills are girded with joy.

¹²Les plaines du désert sont abreuvées, Et les collines sont ceintes d'allégresse;

¹²ירעפו נאות מדבר וגיל גבעות תחגרנה׃

¹³The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered over with grain; They shout for joy, they also sing.

¹³Les pâturages se couvrent de brebis, Et les vallées se revêtent de froment. Les cris de joie et les chants retentissent.

¹³לבשו כרים הצאן ועמקים יעטפו בר יתרועעו אף ישירו׃
