¹There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.

¹Il n'y a donc maintenant aucune condamnation pour ceux qui sont en Jésus-Christ.

¹על כן אין אשמה באלה אשר הם במשיח ישוע המתהלכים בלא כבשר כי אם לפי הרוח׃

²For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

²En effet, la loi de l'esprit de vie en Jésus-Christ m'a affranchi de la loi du péché et de la mort.

²כי תורת רוח החיים במשיח ישוע שחררה אתי מתורת החטא והמות׃

³For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

³Car chose impossible à la loi, parce que la chair la rendait sans force, -Dieu a condamné le péché dans la chair, en envoyant, à cause du péché, son propre Fils dans une chair semblable à celle du péché,

³כי מה שלא יכלה התורה לעשות הנחלשה על יד הבשר עשה האלהים בשלחו את בנו בתואר בשר החטא ובעד החטא וירשיע את החטא בבשר׃

⁴that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

⁴et cela afin que la justice de la loi fût accomplie en nous, qui marchons, non selon la chair, mais selon l'esprit.

⁴למען תמלא חקת התורה בנו המתהלכים בלא כבשר כי אם לפי הרוח׃

⁵For they that are after the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

⁵Ceux, en effet, qui vivent selon la chair, s'affectionnent aux choses de la chair, tandis que ceux qui vivent selon l'esprit s'affectionnent aux choses de l'esprit.

⁵כי אשר המה לבשר בעניני הבשר יחשבו ואשר לרוח בעניני הרוח יחשבו׃

⁶For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace:

⁶Et l'affection de la chair, c'est la mort, tandis que l'affection de l'esprit, c'est la vie et la paix;

⁶כי מחשבת הבשר היא המות ומחשבת הרוח היא החיים והשלום׃

⁷because the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be:

⁷car l'affection de la chair est inimitié contre Dieu, parce qu'elle ne se soumet pas à la loi de Dieu, et qu'elle ne le peut même pas.

⁷יען מחשבת הבשר רק שנאת אלהים היא באשר לא תשתעבד לתורת האלהים ואף איננה יכולה׃

⁸and they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

⁸Or ceux qui vivent selon la chair ne sauraient plaire à Dieu.

⁸ואשר המה בבשר לא יוכלו להיות רצוים לאלהים׃

⁹But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

⁹Pour vous, vous ne vivez pas selon la chair, mais selon l'esprit, si du moins l'Esprit de Dieu habite en vous. Si quelqu'un n'a pas l'Esprit de Christ, il ne lui appartient pas.

⁹ואתם אינכם בבשר כי אם ברוח אם אמנם רוח האלהים שכן בקרבכם כי מי שאין בו רוח המשיח איננו שלו׃

¹⁰And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness.

¹⁰Et si Christ est en vous, le corps, il est vrai, est mort à cause du péché, mais l'esprit est vie à cause de la justice.

¹⁰ואם המשיח בקרבכם אז הגוף מת הוא בדבר החטא והרוח חיים הוא בדבר הצדקה׃

¹¹But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

¹¹Et si l'Esprit de celui qui a ressuscité Jésus d'entre les morts habite en vous, celui qui a ressuscité Christ d'entre les morts rendra aussi la vie à vos corps mortels par son Esprit qui habite en vous.

¹¹ואם ישכן בקרבכם רוח המעיר את ישוע מן המתים הוא אשר העיר את המשיח מן המתים גם את גויותיכם המתות יחיה על ידי רוחו השכן בקרבכם׃

¹²So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh:

¹²Ainsi donc, frères, nous ne sommes point redevables à la chair, pour vivre selon la chair.

¹²לכן אחי חיבים אנחנו לא לבשר לחיות לפי הבשר׃

¹³for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die; but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

¹³Si vous vivez selon la chair, vous mourrez; mais si par l'Esprit vous faites mourir les actions du corps, vous vivrez,

¹³כי אם תחיו לפי הבשר מות תמתון ואם על ידי הרוח תמותתו את מעללי הבשר חיה תחיו׃

¹⁴For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

¹⁴car tous ceux qui sont conduits par l'Esprit de Dieu sont fils de Dieu.

¹⁴כי כל אשר רוח אלהים ינהגם בני אלהים המה׃

¹⁵For ye received not the spirit of bondage again unto fear; but ye received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

¹⁵Et vous n'avez point reçu un esprit de servitude, pour être encore dans la crainte; mais vous avez reçu un Esprit d'adoption, par lequel nous crions: Abba! Père!

¹⁵כי לא קבלתם רוח עבדות לשוב לירא כי אם קבלתם רוח משפט בנים אשר בו קראים אנחנו אבא אבינו׃

¹⁶The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are children of God:

¹⁶L'Esprit lui-même rend témoignage à notre esprit que nous sommes enfants de Dieu.

¹⁶והרוח ההוא מעיד ברוחנו כי בני אלהים אנחנו׃

¹⁷and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified with [him].

¹⁷Or, si nous sommes enfants, nous sommes aussi héritiers: héritiers de Dieu, et cohéritiers de Christ, si toutefois nous souffrons avec lui, afin d'être glorifiés avec lui.

¹⁷ואם בנים אנחנו גם ירשים נהיה ירשי אלהים וחברי המשיח בירשה אם אמנם נתענה אתו למען גם אתו נכבד׃

¹⁸For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward.

¹⁸J'estime que les souffrances du temps présent ne sauraient être comparées à la gloire à venir qui sera révélée pour nous.

¹⁸כי אחשב אשר ענויי הזמן הזה אינם שקולים כנגד הכבוד העתיד להגלות עלינו׃

¹⁹For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God.

¹⁹Aussi la création attend-elle avec un ardent désir la révélation des fils de Dieu.

¹⁹כי הבריאה תערג ועיניה תלויות להתגלות בני אלהים׃

²⁰For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but by reason of him who subjected it, in hope

²⁰Car la création a été soumise à la vanité, -non de son gré, mais à cause de celui qui l'y a soumise, avec l'espérance

²⁰כי נכבשה הבריאה להבל לא מרצונה כי אם למען הכבש אתה אלי תקוה׃

²¹that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.

²¹qu'elle aussi sera affranchie de la servitude de la corruption, pour avoir part à la liberté de la gloire des enfants de Dieu.

²¹אשר הבריאה גם היא תשחרר מעבדות הכליון אל חרות כבוד בני האלהים׃

²²For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

²²Or, nous savons que, jusqu'à ce jour, la création tout entière soupire et souffre les douleurs de l'enfantement.

²²כי ידענו אשר הבריאה כלה יחד תאנח ותחיל עד הנה׃

²³And not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for [our] adoption, [to wit], the redemption of our body.

²³Et ce n'est pas elle seulement; mais nous aussi, qui avons les prémices de l'Esprit, nous aussi nous soupirons en nous-mêmes, en attendant l'adoption, la rédemption de notre corps.

²³ולא זאת בלבד כי גם אנחנו אף אם יש לנו בכורי הרוח נאנח בנפשנו ונחכה למשפט הבנים פדות גויתנו׃

²⁴For in hope were we saved: but hope that is seen is not hope: for who hopeth for that which he seeth?

²⁴Car c'est en espérance que nous sommes sauvés. Or, l'espérance qu'on voit n'est plus espérance: ce qu'on voit, peut-on l'espérer encore?

²⁴כי נושענו בתקוה אך התקוה הנראה לעינים איננה תקוה כי איך ייחל איש לדבר אשר הוא ראה׃

²⁵But if we hope for that which we see not, [then] do we with patience wait for it.

²⁵Mais si nous espérons ce que nous ne voyons pas, nous l'attendons avec persévérance.

²⁵אבל אם נקוה לאשר לא ראינהו נחכה לו בסבלנות׃

²⁶And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought; but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for [us] with groanings which cannot be uttered;

²⁶De même aussi l'Esprit nous aide dans notre faiblesse, car nous ne savons pas ce qu'il nous convient de demander dans nos prières. Mais l'Esprit lui-même intercède par des soupirs inexprimables;

²⁶וכן גם הרוח תמך אתנו בחלשותינו כי לא ידענו מה להתפלל כראוי אכן הרוח הוא מפגיע בעדנו באנחות עמקות מדבר׃

²⁷and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God.

²⁷et celui qui sonde les coeurs connaît quelle est la pensée de l'Esprit, parce que c'est selon Dieu qu'il intercède en faveur des saints.

²⁷והחקר לבבות יודע את אשר יחשב הרוח כי כרצון האלהים יפגיע בעד הקדושים׃

²⁸And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, [even] to them that are called according to [his] purpose.

²⁸Nous savons, du reste, que toutes choses concourent au bien de ceux qui aiment Dieu, de ceux qui sont appelés selon son dessein.

²⁸והנה ידענו כי לאהבי אלהים הקרואים בעצתו הכל יעזר לטוב להם׃

²⁹For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren:

²⁹Car ceux qu'il a connus d'avance, il les a aussi prédestinés à être semblables à l'image de son Fils, afin que son Fils fût le premier-né entre plusieurs frères.

²⁹כי את אשר ידעם מקדם אתם גם יעד מקדם להיות דומים לדמות בנו למען יהיה הבכור בתוך אחים רבים׃

³⁰and whom he foreordained, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

³⁰Et ceux qu'il a prédestinés, il les a aussi appelés; et ceux qu'il a appelés, il les a aussi justifiés; et ceux qu'il a justifiés, il les a aussi glorifiés.

³⁰ואת אשר יעדם מקדם אתם גם קרא ואת אשר קראם אתם גם הצדיק ואת אשר הצדיקם אתם גם פאר׃

³¹What then shall we say to these things? If God [is] for us, who [is] against us?

³¹Que dirons-nous donc à l'égard de ces choses? Si Dieu est pour nous, qui sera contre nous?

³¹ועתה מה נאמר על זאת אם האלהים לנו מי יריב אתנו׃

³²He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?

³²Lui, qui n'a point épargné son propre Fils, mais qui l'a livré pour nous tous, comment ne nous donnera-t-il pas aussi toutes choses avec lui?

³²אשר על בנו יחידו לא חס כי אם נתנו בעד כלנו הלא גם יתן לנו עמו את הכל׃

³³Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth;

³³Qui accusera les élus de Dieu? C'est Dieu qui justifie!

³³מי יענה בבחירי אלהים הן אלהים הוא המצדיק׃

³⁴who is he that condemneth? It is Christ Jesus that died, yea rather, that was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

³⁴Qui les condamnera? Christ est mort; bien plus, il est ressuscité, il est à la droite de Dieu, et il intercède pour nous!

³⁴ומי הוא יאשימם הן המשיח אשר מת וביותר אשר נעור מעם המתים הוא לימין האלהים והוא יפגיע בעדנו׃

³⁵Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

³⁵Qui nous séparera de l'amour de Christ? Sera-ce la tribulation, ou l'angoisse, ou la persécution, ou la faim, ou la nudité, ou le péril, ou l'épée?

³⁵מי יפרידנו מאהבת המשיח הצרה או מצוקה או משטמה או רעב אם עריה או סכנה או חרב׃

³⁶Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

³⁶selon qu'il est écrit: C'est à cause de toi qu'on nous met à mort tout le jour, Qu'on nous regarde comme des brebis destinées à la boucherie.

³⁶ככתוב כי עליך הרגנו כל היום נחשבנו כצאן טבחה׃

³⁷Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

³⁷Mais dans toutes ces choses nous sommes plus que vainqueurs par celui qui nous a aimés.

³⁷אבל בכל אלה גברנו מאד על ידי האהב אתנו׃

³⁸For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

³⁸Car j'ai l'assurance que ni la mort ni la vie, ni les anges ni les dominations, ni les choses présentes ni les choses à venir, ni les puissances,

³⁸ובטוח אנכי כי לא המות ולא החיים לא מלאכים ולא שררות ולא גבורות לא ההוה ולא העתיד׃

³⁹nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

³⁹ni la hauteur, ni la profondeur, ni aucune autre créature ne pourra nous séparer de l'amour de Dieu manifesté en Jésus-Christ notre Seigneur.

³⁹לא הרוח ולא העמק ולא כל בריה אחרת יוכלו להפרידנו מאהבת האלהים אשר היא במשיח ישוע אדנינו׃
