¹Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the lovingkindness of Jehovah for ever: With my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

¹Viešpatie, apie Tavo gailestingumą giedosiu amžinai; kartų kartoms skelbsiu Tavo ištikimybę.

²For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever; Thy faithfulness wilt thou establish in the very heavens.

²Aš tariau: “Gailestingumas išliks per amžius. Tu įtvirtinsi savo ištikimybę danguose”.

³I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant:

³“Aš sudariau sandorą su išrinktuoju ir prisiekiau savo tarnui Dovydui:

⁴Thy seed will I establish for ever, And build up thy throne to all generations. Selah

⁴‘Per amžius įtvirtinsiu tavo palikuonis, tavo sostą visoms kartoms pastatysiu’ ”.

⁵And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O Jehovah; Thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.

⁵Viešpatie, dangūs giria Tavo stebuklus, Tavo ištikimybę­šventųjų susirinkimas.

⁶For who in the skies can be compared unto Jehovah? Who among the sons of the mighty is like unto Jehovah,

⁶Kas gi iš danguje esančių Viešpačiui prilygsta? Kas tarp Dievo sūnų panašus į Viešpatį?

⁷A God very terrible in the council of the holy ones, And to be feared above all them that are round about him?

⁷Bauginantis yra Dievas šventųjų susirinkime, gerbtinas visų aplink Jį esančių.

⁸O Jehovah God of hosts, Who is a mighty one, like unto thee, O Jehovah? And thy faithfulness is round about thee.

⁸Viešpatie, kareivijų Dieve, kas yra Tau lygus savo jėga? Viešpatie, kas yra toks ištikimas, kaip Tu?

⁹Thou rulest the pride of the sea: When the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

⁹Tu suvaldai jūros šėlimą, sukilusias bangas Tu sutramdai.

¹⁰Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; Thou hast scattered thine enemies with the arm of thy strength.

¹⁰Tu sutriuškini Rahabą kaip nukautąjį, savo galinga ranka išgainioji savo priešus.

¹¹The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: The world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

¹¹Tau priklauso dangūs ir žemė, pasaulis ir visa, kas jame; Tu sukūrei juos.

¹²The north and the south, thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon rejoice in thy name.

¹²Tu sutvėrei šiaurę ir pietus; Taboras ir Hermonas džiaugiasi Tavimi.

¹³Thou hast a mighty arm; Strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.

¹³Tu galingas: stipri Tavo ranka, aukštai pakelta Tavo dešinė!

¹⁴Righteousness and justice are the foundation of thy throne: Lovingkindness and truth go before thy face.

¹⁴Tavo sosto pamatas­teisumas ir teisingumas, gailestingumas ir tiesa eina Tavo priekyje.

¹⁵Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: They walk, O Jehovah, in the light of thy countenance.

¹⁵Palaiminta tauta, kuri pažįsta džiaugsmingą garsą! Viešpatie, Tavo veido šviesoje jie vaikščios.

¹⁶In thy name do they rejoice all the day; And in thy righteousness are they exalted.

¹⁶Tavo vardas juos linksmins, jie bus išaukštinti Tavo teisume.

¹⁷For thou art the glory of their strength; And in thy favor our horn shall be exalted.

¹⁷Tu esi jų garbė ir galybė, Tavo palankumu išaukštintas mūsų ragas.

¹⁸For our shield belongeth unto Jehovah; And our king to the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁸Viešpats yra mūsų apsauga, Izraelio Šventasis­mūsų karalius.

¹⁹Then thou spakest in vision to thy saints, And saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

¹⁹Regėjime Tu kalbėjai savo šventajam: “Aš suteikiau pagalbą karžygiui, išaukštinau tautos išrinktąjį.

²⁰I have found David my servant; With my holy oil have I anointed him:

²⁰Suradau Dovydą, savo tarną, ir šventu aliejumi jį patepiau.

²¹With whom my hand shall be established; Mine arm also shall strengthen him.

²¹Mano ranka visuomet jį palaikys, mano dešinė stiprins jį.

²²The enemy shall not exact from him, Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

²²Priešas nenugalės jo ir piktadarys nepažemins.

²³And I will beat down his adversaries before him, And smite them that hate him.

²³Jo akivaizdoje parblokšiu priešus ir palaušiu tuos, kurie jo nekenčia.

²⁴But my faithfulness and my lovingkindness shall be with him; And in my name shall his horn be exalted.

²⁴Mano ištikimybė ir gailestingumas lydės jį, ir mano vardu aukštai iškils jo ragas.

²⁵I will set his hand also on the sea, And his right hand on the rivers.

²⁵Aš jo ranką padėsiu ant jūros ir ant upių jo dešinę.

²⁶He shall cry unto me, Thou art my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.

²⁶Jis sakys man: ‘Tu esi mano tėvas, mano Dievas ir išgelbėjimo uola!’

²⁷I also will make him [my] first-born, The highest of the kings of the earth.

²⁷Aš padarysiu jį savo pirmagimiu, jis bus aukščiau negu žemės karaliai.

²⁸My lovingkindness will I keep for him for evermore; And my covenant shall stand fast with him.

²⁸Aš būsiu jam gailestingas per amžius, tvirta pasiliks sandora tarp mūsų.

²⁹His seed also will I make to endure for ever, And his throne as the days of heaven.

²⁹Jo palikuonims leisiu gyventi per amžius, kol bus dangus, stovės jo sostas.

³⁰If his children forsake my law, And walk not in mine ordinances;

³⁰Jei jo vaikai paniekins mano įstatymą, jei nesielgs, kaip jiems įsakyta,

³¹If they break my statutes, And keep not my commandments;

³¹jei mano nuostatus laužys ir įsakymų mano nepaisys,

³²Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, And their iniquity with stripes.

³²bausiu už jų nuodėmes lazda, plaksiu rykštėmis už jų kaltę.

³³But my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, Nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

³³Bet savo malonės iš jo neatimsiu ir ištikimybės jam neatsakysiu,

³⁴My covenant will I not break, Nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

³⁴nesulaužysiu sandoros ir savo lūpų žodžio nekeisiu.

³⁵Once have I sworn by my holiness: I will not lie unto David:

³⁵Kartą esu prisiekęs šventumu savo, Dovydui nemeluosiu.

³⁶His seed shall endure for ever, And his throne as the sun before me.

³⁶Jo palikuonys gyvens per amžius, ir jo sostas stovės kaip saulė priešais mane,

³⁷It shall be established for ever as the moon, And [as] the faithful witness in the sky. Selah

³⁷bus įtvirtintas kaip mėnulis­ištikimas liudytojas danguje”.

³⁸But thou hast cast off and rejected, Thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.

³⁸Bet Tu atstūmei, atmetei ir pasibjaurėjai pateptuoju savo.

³⁹Thou hast abhorred the covenant of thy servant: Thou hast profaned his crown [by casting it] to the ground.

³⁹Išsižadėjai sandoros su savo tarnu, nusviedei žemėn jo karūną ir suteršei ją.

⁴⁰Thou hast broken down all his hedges; Thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.

⁴⁰Tu sugriovei jo mūrus, pavertei griuvėsiais tvirtoves.

⁴¹All that pass by the way rob him: He is become a reproach to his neighbors.

⁴¹Jį plėšia visi praeiviai, jis tapo pajuoka kaimynams.

⁴²Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries; Thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.

⁴²Tu leidai jo priešų galybei iškilti, jiems visiems suteikei džiaugsmą.

⁴³Yea, thou turnest back the edge of his sword, And hast not made him to stand in the battle.

⁴³Nukreipei ašmenis jo kardo, neleidai laimėti mūšyje.

⁴⁴Thou hast made his brightness to cease, And cast his throne down to the ground.

⁴⁴Tu atėmei jo šlovę ir nuvertei jo sostą.

⁴⁵The days of his youth hast thou shortened: Thou hast covered him with shame. Selah

⁴⁵Sutrumpinai jo jaunystės dienas, padengei jį gėda.

⁴⁶How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? [How long] shall thy wrath burn like fire?

⁴⁶Ar ilgai, Viešpatie? Ar slėpsies amžinai? Ar degs kaip ugnis Tavo rūstybė?

⁴⁷Oh remember how short my time is: For what vanity hast thou created all the children of men!

⁴⁷Viešpatie, atsimink, koks trumpas yra mano gyvenimas! Kokius menkus Tu sukūrei visus žmones!

⁴⁸What man is he that shall live and not see death, That shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah

⁴⁸Koks žmogus gyvena ir nepatiria mirties? Kieno siela mirusiųjų buveinės išvengia?

⁴⁹Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, Which thou swarest unto David in thy faithfulness?

⁴⁹Viešpatie, kur yra Tavo ankstesnė malonė, kurią Dovydui savo tiesoje pažadėjai?

⁵⁰Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; How I do bear in my bosom [the reproach of] all the mighty peoples,

⁵⁰Viešpatie, atsimink savo tarno gėdą; nešioju širdyje daugelio tautų panieką,

⁵¹Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O Jehovah, Wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

⁵¹kuria, Viešpatie, Tavo priešai niekino Tavo pateptojo kelius.

⁵²Blessed be Jehovah for evermore. Amen, and Amen. BOOK IV
