1Come now, ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you.
1Послушайте вы, богатые: плачьте и рыдайте о бедствияхваших, находящих на вас.
2Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.
2Богатство ваше сгнило, и одежды ваши изъедены молью.
3Your gold and your silver are rusted; and their rust shall be for a testimony against you, and shall eat your flesh as fire. Ye have laid up your treasure in the last days.
3Золото ваше и серебро изоржавело, и ржавчина их будет свидетельством против вас и съест плоть вашу, как огонь: вы собрали себе сокровище на последние дни.
4Behold, the hire of the laborers who mowed your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth out: and the cries of them that reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
4Вот, плата, удержанная вами у работников, пожавших поля ваши, вопиет, и вопли жнецов дошли дослуха Господа Саваофа.
5Ye have lived delicately on the earth, and taken your pleasure; ye have nourished your hearts in a day of slaughter.
5Вы роскошествовали на земле и наслаждались; напиталисердца ваши, как бы на день заклания.
6Ye have condemned, ye have killed the righteous [one]; he doth not resist you.
6Вы осудили, убили Праведника; Он не противился вам.
7Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.
7Итак, братия, будьте долготерпеливы до пришествия Господня. Вот, земледелец ждет драгоценного плода от земли идля него терпит долго, пока получит дождь ранний и поздний.
8Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
8Долготерпите и вы, укрепите сердца ваши, потому чтопришествие Господне приближается.
9Murmur not, brethren, one against another, that ye be not judged: behold, the judge standeth before the doors.
9Не сетуйте, братия, друг на друга, чтобы не быть осужденными: вот, Судия стоит у дверей.
10Take, brethren, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spake in the name of the Lord.
10В пример злострадания и долготерпения возьмите, братия мои, пророков, которые говорили именем Господним.
11Behold, we call them blessed that endured: ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.
11Вот, мы ублажаем тех, которые терпели.Вы слышали о терпении Иова и видели конец оного от Господа, ибо Господь весьма милосерд и сострадателен.
12But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by the heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath: but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay; that ye fall not under judgment.
12Прежде же всего, братия мои, не клянитесь ни небом, ни землею, и никакою другою клятвою, но да будет у вас: „да, да" и „нет, нет", дабы вам не подпасть осуждению.
13Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise.
13Злостраждет ли кто из вас, пусть молится. Весел ликто, пусть поет псалмы.
14Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
14Болен ли кто из вас, пусть призовет пресвитеров Церкви, и пусть помолятся над ним, помазав его елеем во имя Господне.
15and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.
15И молитва веры исцелит болящего, и восставит его Господь; и если он соделал грехи, простятся ему.
16Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.
16Признавайтесь друг пред другом в проступках и молитесь друг за друга, чтобы исцелиться: много может усиленная молитва праведного.
17Elijah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.
17Илия был человек, подобный нам, и молитвою помолился, чтобы не было дождя: и не было дождя на землю три года и шесть месяцев.
18And he prayed again; and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
18И опять помолился: и небо дало дождь, и земля произрастила плод свой.
19My brethren, if any among you err from the truth, and one convert him;
19Братия! если кто из вас уклонится от истины, и обратит кто его,
20let him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.
20пусть тот знает, что обративший грешника от ложногопути его спасет душу от смерти и покроет множество грехов.
