¹Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

¹И отвечал Вилдад Савхеянин и сказал:

²How long will ye hunt for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.

²когда же положите вы конец таким речам? обдумайте, и потом будем говорить.

³Wherefore are we counted as beasts, [And] are become unclean in your sight?

³Зачем считаться нам за животных и быть униженными в собственных глазах ваших?

⁴Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, Shall the earth be forsaken for thee? Or shall the rock be removed out of its place?

⁴О ты , раздирающий душу твою в гневе твоем! Неужели для тебя опустеть земле, искале сдвинуться с места своего?

⁵Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, And the spark of his fire shall not shine.

⁵Да, свет у беззаконного потухнет, и не останется искры от огняего.

⁶The light shall be dark in his tent, And his lamp above him shall be put out.

⁶Померкнет свет в шатре его, и светильник его угаснет над ним.

⁷The steps of his strength shall be straitened, And his own counsel shall cast him down.

⁷Сократятся шаги могущества его, и низложит его собственный замысл его,

⁸For he is cast into a net by his own feet, And he walketh upon the toils.

⁸ибо он попадет в сеть своими ногами и по тенетам ходить будет.

⁹A gin shall take [him] by the heel, [And] a snare shall lay hold on him.

⁹Петля зацепит за ногу его, и грабитель уловит его.

¹⁰A noose is hid for him in the ground, And a trap for him in the way.

¹⁰Скрытно разложены по земле силки для него и западнина дороге.

¹¹Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, And shall chase him at his heels.

¹¹Со всех сторон будут страшить его ужасы и заставят его бросаться туда и сюда.

¹²His strength shall be hunger-bitten, And calamity shall be ready at his side.

¹²Истощится от голода сила его, и гибель готова, сбоку у него.

¹³The members of his body shall be devoured, [Yea], the first-born of death shall devour his members.

¹³Съест члены тела его, съест члены его первенец смерти.

¹⁴He shall be rooted out of his tent where he trusteth; And he shall be brought to the king of terrors.

¹⁴Изгнана будет из шатра его надежда его, и это низведет его к царю ужасов.

¹⁵There shall dwell in his tent that which is none of his: Brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.

¹⁵Поселятся в шатре его, потому что он уже не его; жилище его посыпано будет серою.

¹⁶His roots shall be dried up beneath, And above shall his branch be cut off.

¹⁶Снизу подсохнут корни его, и сверху увянут ветви его.

¹⁷His remembrance shall perish from the earth, And he shall have no name in the street.

¹⁷Память о нем исчезнет с земли, и имени его не будет на площади.

¹⁸He shall be driven from light into darkness, And chased out of the world.

¹⁸Изгонят его из света во тьму и сотрут его с лица земли.

¹⁹He shall have neither son nor son's son among his people, Nor any remaining where he sojourned.

¹⁹Ни сына его, ни внука не будет в народе его, и никого не останется в жилищах его.

²⁰They that come after shall be astonished at his day, As they that went before were affrighted.

²⁰О дне его ужаснутся потомки, и современники будут объяты трепетом.

²¹Surely such are the dwellings of the unrighteous, And this is the place of him that knoweth not God.

²¹Таковы жилища беззаконного, и таково место того, кто не знает Бога.
