¹Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand,

¹A oznamujem vám, bratia, evanjelium, ktoré som vám zvestoval, ktoré ste aj prijali, v ktorom aj stojíte,

²by which also ye are saved, if ye hold fast the word which I preached unto you, except ye believed in vain.

²skrze ktoré i spasení bývate, ak držíte v pamäti, jakým slovom a v akom smysle som vám ho zvestoval, iba ak by ste boli nadarmo uverili.

³For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

³Lebo medzi prvým som vám vydal, čo som aj prijal, že Kristus zomrel za naše hriechy podľa písem

⁴and that he was buried; and that he hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures;

⁴a že bol pochovaný a že v tretí deň vstal z mŕtvych podľa písem

⁵and that he appeared to Cephas; then to the twelve;

⁵a že sa ukázal Kéfašovi, potom dvanástim,

⁶then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep;

⁶potom sa naraz ukázal viac ako päťsto bratom, z ktorých väčšina žije až doteraz, ale niektorí tiež zosnuli.

⁷then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;

⁷Potom sa ukázal Jakobovi, potom všetkým apoštolom.

⁸and last of all, as to the [child] untimely born, he appeared to me also.

⁸Naposledy od všetkých sťa nedochodčaťu sa ukázal i mne.

⁹For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

⁹Lebo ja som najmenší z apoštolov, ktorý nie som hoden volať sa apoštolom, pretože som prenasledoval cirkev Božiu.

¹⁰But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not found vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

¹⁰Ale milosťou Božou som, čo som, a jeho milosť, mne preukázaná nebola nadarmo, ale som hojnejšie pracoval než oni všetci, avšak nie ja, ale milosť Božia, ktorá je so mnou.

¹¹Whether then [it be] I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

¹¹A tedy či ja či tamtí, všetko jedno: tak kážeme, a tak ste uverili.

¹²Now if Christ is preached that he hath been raised from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

¹²Ale ak sa káže o Kristovi, že vstal z mŕtvych, akože potom hovoria niektorí medzi vami, že nieto zmŕtvychvstania?

¹³But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither hath Christ been raised:

¹³Ale ak nie je zmŕtvychvstania, vtedy ani Kristus nevstal z mŕtvych.

¹⁴and if Christ hath not been raised, then is our preaching vain, your faith also is vain.

¹⁴No, ak Kristus nevstal z mŕtvych, tak je márna i naša kázeň, a márna je i vaša viera.

¹⁵Yea, we are found false witnesses of God; because we witnessed of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead are not raised.

¹⁵A potom sme najdení tiež ako falošní svedkovia Boží, pretože sme svedčili proti Bohu, že totiž vzkriesil Krista, ktorého nevzkriesil, ak tedy mŕtvi nevstávajú z mŕtvych.

¹⁶For if the dead are not raised, neither hath Christ been raised:

¹⁶Lebo ak mŕtvi nevstávajú z mŕtvych, ani Kristus nevstal z mŕtvych,

¹⁷and if Christ hath not been raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

¹⁷a jestli Kristus nevstal z mŕtvych, márna ja vaša viera, ešte ste vo svojich hriechoch.

¹⁸Then they also that are fallen asleep in Christ have perished.

¹⁸A tak aj tí, ktorí zosnuli v Kristovi, zahynuli.

¹⁹If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable.

¹⁹Ak len v tomto živote nadejeme sa na Krista, vtedy sme biednejší od všetkých ľudí.

²⁰But now hath Christ been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of them that are asleep.

²⁰No, ale Kristus vstal z mŕtvych, prvotina tých, ktorí zosnuli.

²¹For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead.

²¹Lebo pretože skrze človeka smrť, skrze človeka i zmŕtvychvstanie mŕtvych.

²²For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

²²Lebo jako v Adamovi všetci zomierajú, zrovna tak i v Kristovi všetci budú oživení.

²³But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; then they that are Christ's, at his coming.

²³Ale jeden každý vo svojom vlastnom poriadku: prvotina Kristus, potom tí, ktorí sú Kristovi, za jeho príchodu.

²⁴Then [cometh] the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power.

²⁴potom koniec, keď oddá kráľovstvo Bohu a Otcovi, keď zruší každé kniežatstvo a každú vrchnosť a moc.

²⁵For he must reign, till he hath put all his enemies under his feet.

²⁵Lebo on musí kraľovať, dokiaľ mu nepoloží všetkých nepriateľov pod jeho nohy.

²⁶The last enemy that shall be abolished is death.

²⁶Ako posledný nepriateľ bude zničená smrť.

²⁷For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him.

²⁷Lebo, je napísané, všetko podrobil pod jeho nohy. Ale keď povie, že je všetko podrobené, je zrejmé, že krome toho, ktorý mu to všetko podrobil.

²⁸And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all.

²⁸A keď mu bude všetko podrobené, vtedy sa i sám Syn podrobí tomu, ktorý mu všetko podrobil, aby bol Bôh všetko vo všetkom.

²⁹Else what shall they do that are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?

²⁹Lebo veď ináče čo urobia tí, ktorí sa krstia za mŕtvych, ak len vôbec mŕtvi nevstávajú z mŕtvych? Načo sa aj potom krstia za nich?

³⁰Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour?

³⁰Načo sme potom aj my v nebezpečenstve každú hodinu?

³¹I protest by that glorifying in you, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

³¹Každý deň zomieram, na vašu chválu, bratia, ktorú mám v Kristu Ježišovi, v našom Pánovi!

³²If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die.

³²Ak som sa po ľudsky boril so šelmami v Efeze, jaký mi z toho osoh, ak mŕtvy nevstávajú z mŕtvych? Jedzme a pime, lebo zajtra zomrieme.-

³³Be not deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals.

³³Nedajte sa zvádzať! Zlé reči kazia dobré mravy.

³⁴Awake to soberness righteously, and sin not; for some have no knowledge of God: I speak [this] to move you to shame.

³⁴Vytriezvejte spravedlivo a nehrešte, lebo niektorí neznajú Boha; na vaše zahanbenie to hovorím.

³⁵But some one will say, How are the dead raised? and with what manner of body do they come?

³⁵Ale niekto povie: Ako vstanú mŕtvi z mŕtvych? A v akom tele prijdú?

³⁶Thou foolish one, that which thou thyself sowest is not quickened except it die:

³⁶Blázon. To, čo ty seješ, nebude oživené, iba keď zomrie;

³⁷and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but a bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other kind;

³⁷a čo seješ, neseješ tela, ktoré bude, ale holé zrno, už ako prijde, pšeničné alebo nejaké iné,

³⁸but God giveth it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own.

³⁸a Bôh mu dáva telo tak, ako to chcel, a jednému každému zo semien jemu vlastné telo.

³⁹All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one [flesh] of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes.

³⁹Nie každé telo je to isté telo; ale iné je telo ľudí, a iné je telo hoviad; iné telo vtákov a iné rýb.

⁴⁰There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the [glory] of the terrestrial is another.

⁴⁰A sú nebeské telá, a sú zemské telá; ale inakšia je sláva nebeských tiel a inakšia zemských.

⁴¹There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differeth from another star in glory.

⁴¹Iná je sláva slnca, iná sláva mesiaca a iná sláva hviezd, lebo hviezda od hviezdy je rozdielna v sláve.

⁴²So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

⁴²Tak aj vzkriesenie mŕtvych. Seje sa v porušenosti, vstane v neporušiteľnosti;

⁴³it is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

⁴³seje sa v nečesti, vstane v sláve; seje sa v slabosti, vstane v moci;

⁴⁴it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual [body].

⁴⁴seje sa duševné telo smyselné, vstane duchovné telo. (Ak) je duševné telo, je i duchovné telo.

⁴⁵So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam [became] a life-giving spirit.

⁴⁵Tak je aj napísané: Prvý človek, Adam, stal sa živou dušou, posledný Adam oživujúcim duchom.

⁴⁶Howbeit that is not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; then that which is spiritual.

⁴⁶Ale nie prv duchovné, ale duševné, potom duchovné.

⁴⁷The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.

⁴⁷Prvý človek zo zeme zemský, z hliny, druhý človek - Pán z neba.

⁴⁸As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

⁴⁸Jaký bol ten zemský, takí aj všetci zemskí, a jaký ten nebeský, takí aj všetci nebeskí.

⁴⁹And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

⁴⁹A jako sme niesli obraz zemského, tak ponesieme aj obraz nebeského.

⁵⁰Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

⁵⁰Ale to hovorím, bratia, že telo a krv nemôžu zdediť kráľovstvo Božie, ani porušenosť nezdedí neporušiteľnosti.

⁵¹Behold, I tell you a mystery: We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed,

⁵¹Hľa, tajomstvo vám hovorím. Všetci nezosneme, ale všetci budeme premenení, razom, v okamihu, pri zatrúbení poslednej trúby.

⁵²in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

⁵²Lebo zatrúbi, a mŕtvi vstanú neporušiteľní, a my budeme premenení.

⁵³For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

⁵³Lebo toto porušiteľné musí obliecť neporušiteľnosť a toto smrteľné obliecť nesmrteľnosť.

⁵⁴But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

⁵⁴A keď toto porušiteľné oblečie neporušiteľnosť, a toto smrteľné oblečie nesmrteľnosť, vtedy sa naplní slovo, ktoré je napísané: Smrť je pohltená vo víťazstvo.

⁵⁵O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?

⁵⁵Smrť, kde je tvoj osteň? Kde, peklo, tvoje víťazstvo?

⁵⁶The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law:

⁵⁶Osteň smrti je hriech, a moc hriechu je zákon.

⁵⁷but thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁵⁷Ale vďaka Bohu, ktorý nám dáva víťazstvo skrze nášho Pána Ježiša Krista.

⁵⁸Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord.

⁵⁸A tak, moji milovaní bratia, buďte pevní, nepohnuteľní, rozhojňujúci sa vždycky v diele Pánovom vediac, že vaša práca nie je márna v Pánovi.
