1Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we faint not:
1Preto majúc túto službu, jako sme dostali milosrdenstvo, neustávame;
2but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
2ale sme sa odriekli skrytých vecí hanebnosti a nerobíme chytrácky ani nefalšujeme slova Božieho, ale zjavovaním pravdy odporúčame seba každému svedomiu ľudskému pred Bohom.
3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in them that perish:
3A jestli aj je zakryté naše evanjelium, zakryté je u tých, ktorí hynú,
4in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn [upon them].
4u ktorých boh tohoto sveta oslepil smysly, smysly neveriacich, aby sa im nezablesklo osvietenie evanjelia slávy Kristovej, ktorý je obrazom Boha.
5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.
5Lebo nekážeme sami seba, ale Krista Ježiša jako Pána, a sami že sme vašimi sluhami pre Ježiša.
6Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
6Lebo je to Bôh, ktorý povedal, aby sa zo tmy zaskvelo svetlo, ktorý sa zaskvel v našich srdciach na osvietenie známosti slávy Božej v tvári Ježiša Krista.
7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;
7No, ten poklad máme v hlinených nádobách, aby svrchovanosť moci bola Božia a nie z nás,
8[we are] pressed on every side, yet not straitened; perplexed, yet not unto despair;
8ktorí sme tiesnení zo všetkých strán, ale nie sovrení: sme v rozpakoch, ale nie cele bezradní;
9pursued, yet not forsaken; smitten down, yet not destroyed;
9prenasledovaní, ale nie v zlom opustení; sme občas povalení, ale nehynieme,
10always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body.
10vždy a všade nosiac so sebou mŕtvenie Pána Ježiša na tele, aby bol aj život Ježišov zjavený na našom tele.
11For we who live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh.
11Lebo my, ktorí žijeme, vždycky sme vydávaní na smrť pre Ježiša, aby bol aj život Ježišov zjavený na našom smrteľnom tele.
12So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
12Takže smrť pôsobí v nás a život vo vás.
13But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, I believed, and therefore did I speak; we also believe, and therefore also we speak;
13Ale majúc toho istého ducha viery, podľa toho, čo je napísané: Uveril som a preto som hovoril, aj my teda veríme a preto aj hovoríme
14knowing that he that raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also with Jesus, and shall present us with you.
14vediac, že ten, ktorý vzkriesil Pána Ježiša, vzkriesi aj nás s Ježišom a s vami postaví pred seba.
15For all things [are] for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound unto the glory of God.
15Lebo to všetko sa deje pre vás, aby milosť, rozmnožená skrze mnohých, rozhojnila ďakovanie na slávu Božiu.
16Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.
16Preto neustávame, ale jestli sa aj náš vonkajší človek ruší, vnútorný sa obnovuje deň čo deň.
17For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;
17Lebo terajšie kratučké ľahké nášho súženia nám pôsobí prenesmierne veľkú večnú tiaž slávy,
18while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
18keď nehľadíme na veci, ktoré sa vidia, ale na veci ktoré sa nevidia. Lebo veci, ktoré sa vidia, sú dočasné; ale tie, ktoré sa nevidia, sú večné.
