1Then spake Jesus to the multitudes and to his disciples,
1Vtedy hovoril Ježiš zástupom a svojim učeníkom
2saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses seat:
2a riekol: Na stolici Mojžišovej posadili sa zákonníci a farizeovia;
3all things therefore whatsoever they bid you, [these] do and observe: but do not ye after their works; for they say, and do not.
3tedy všetko, čo by vám povedali, aby ste zachovávali, zachovávajte a čiňte, ale podľa ich skutkov nečiňte, lebo hovoria, ale nečinia.
4Yea, they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger.
4A viažu ťažké bremená a neznesiteľné a uvaľujú ich na plecia ľudí, ale oni sami nechcú ich pohnúť svojím prstom.
5But all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders [of their garments],
5A všetky svoje skutky činia nato, aby ich ľudia videli. Lebo rozširujú svoje filaktéria a robia veľké podolky svojich plášťov;
6and love the chief place at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
6majú radi prvé miesta na ležanie pri večeriach a prvé stolice v synagógach
7and the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called of men, Rabbi.
7a pozdravovania na trhoch, a aby ich ľudia volali: Rabbi! Rabbi!
8But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your teacher, and all ye are brethren.
8Ale vy sa nevolajte rabbim, lebo jeden je váš Učiteľ, Kristus, a vy všetci ste bratia.
9And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your Father, [even] he who is in heaven.
9A svojím otcom nenazývajte nikoho na zemi, lebo jeden je váš Otec, ten, ktorý je v nebesiach.
10Neither be ye called masters: for one is your master, [even] the Christ.
10Ani sa nenazývajte duchovnými vodcami, lebo jeden je váš vodca, Kristus.
11But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
11A ten, kto by bol väčší z vás, bude vaším služobníkom.
12And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.
12A ktokoľvek sa povýši, bude ponížený, a ktokoľvek sa poníži, bude povýšený.
13But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter[.]
13Ale beda vám, zákonníci a farizeovia, pokrytci, pretože zavierate nebeské kráľovstvo pred ľuďmi, lebo vy do neho nevchádzate ani tých, ktorí vchádzajú, nenecháte vojsť.
14Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, even while for a pretence ye make long prayers: therefore ye shall receive greater condemnation.
14Beda vám zákonníci a farizeovia, pokrytci, pretože zožierate domy vdôv, a to pod zámienkou dlhého modlenia; preto ponesiete ťažší súd.
15Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he is become so, ye make him twofold more a son of hell than yourselves.
15Beda vám zákonníci a farizeovia, pokrytci, pretože obchádzate more i suchú zem, aby ste učinili jedného novoverca, a keď sa ním niekto stane, činíte z neho syna pekla, dva razy horšieho ako ste sami.
16Woe unto you, ye blind guides, that say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.
16Beda vám, slepí vodcovia, ktorí hovoríte: Kto by prisahal na chrám, to nie je nič; ale kto by prisahal na zlato chrámu, ten je povinný držať.
17Ye fools and blind: for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that hath sanctified the gold?
17Blázni a slepci, veď čože je väčšie, zlato a či chrám, ktorý posväcuje zlato?
18And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gift that is upon it, he is a debtor.
18A kto by vraj prisahal na oltár, to nie je nič; ale kto by prisahal na dar, ktorý je na ňom, ten je povinný držať.
19Ye blind: for which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
19Blázni a slepci, veď čože je väčšie, dar a či oltár, ktorý posväcuje dar?
20He therefore that sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
20A tak tedy ten, kto prisahá na oltár, prisahá naň i na všetko. čo je na ňom;
21And he that sweareth by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
21a ten, kto prisahá na chrám, prisahá naň i na toho, ktorý býva v ňom;
22And he that sweareth by the heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
22a ten, kto prisahá na nebo, prisahá na trón Boží, i na toho, ktorý sedí na ňom.
23Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye tithe mint and anise and cummin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law, justice, and mercy, and faith: but these ye ought to have done, and not to have left the other undone.
23Beda vám, zákonníci a farizeovia, pokrytci, pretože dávate desiatky z máty, z kôpru a kmínu a opustili ste to, čo je ťažšieho v zákone, súd, milosrdenstvo a vernosť; toho bolo treba činiť a tamto neopustiť.
24Ye blind guides, that strain out the gnat, and swallow the camel!
24Slepí vodcovia, ktorí cedíte komára a veľblúda prehlcujete!
25Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full from extortion and excess.
25Beda vám, zákonníci a farizeovia, pokrytci, pretože čistíte vonok pohára a misy, ale zvnútra sú plné lúpeže a nezdržanlivosti!
26Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside thereof may become clean also.
26Farizee, slepče, vyčisti najprv vnútro pohára a misy, aby bol čistý aj ich vonok!
27Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
27Beda vám, zákonníci a farizeovia, pokrytci, pretože sa podobáte hrobom, obieleným vápnom, ktoré sa síce zvonku zdajú byť krásnymi, ale vnútri sú plné umrlčích kostí a každej nečistoty.
28Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but inwardly ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
28Tak aj vy, zvonku síce zdáte sa ľuďom, že ste spravedliví, ale vnútri ste plní pokrytectva a neprávosti.
29Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and garnish the tombs of the righteous,
29Beda vám, zákonníci a farizeovia, pokrytci, že staviate hroby prorokov a ozdobujete pomníky spravedlivých
30and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we should not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
30a hovoríte: Keby sme boli žili za dní našich otcov, neboli by sme bývali ich spoluúčastníkmi na krvi prorokov.
31Wherefore ye witness to yourselves, that ye are sons of them that slew the prophets.
31A tak sami si vydávate svedoctvo, že ste synovia tých, ktorí povraždili prorokov.
32Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
32Naplňte aj vy mieru svojich otcov!
33Ye serpents, ye offspring of vipers, how shall ye escape the judgment of hell?
33Hadi! Plemä vreteníc, ako by ste vy utiekli odsúdeniu do pekla?!
34Therefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: some of them shall ye kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city:
34Preto hľa, ja posielam k vám prorokov a múdrych a učených v zákone, a niektorých z nich zabijete a ukrižujete a niektorých z nich zbičujete vo svojich synagógach a budete ich prenasledovať z mesta do mesta,
35that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous unto the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom ye slew between the sanctuary and the altar.
35aby prišla na vás všetka krv spravedlivá, vylievaná na zemi, od krvi spravedlivého Ábela až po krv Zachariáša, syna Barachiášovho, ktorého ste zavraždili medzi chrámom a oltárom.
36Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
36Ameň vám hovorím, že prijde toto všetko na toto pokolenie.
37O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
37Jeruzaleme, Jeruzaleme, ty, ktorý vraždíš prorokov a kameňuješ tých, ktorí sú kedy poslaní k tebe, koľko ráz som chcel shromaždiť tvoje deti, tak ako sliepka shromažďuje svoje kuriatka pod svoje krýdla, ale nechceli ste!
38Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
38Hľa, zanecháva sa vám váš dom pustý!
39For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
39Lebo vám hovorím, že ma už odteraz nikdy neuvidíte, až poviete: Požehnaný, ktorý prichádza v mene Pánovom!
