¹Now the feast of unleavened bread, which [is] called the passover, drew nigh,

²Glavari svećenički i pismoznanci tražili su kako da Isusa smaknu jer se bojahu naroda.

²and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.

³A Sotona uđe u Judu zvanog Iškariotski koji bijaše iz broja dvanaestorice.

³And Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariote, being of the number of the twelve.

⁴On ode i ugovori s glavarima svećeničkim i zapovjednicima kako da im ga preda.

⁴And he went away and spoke with the chief priests and captains as to how he should deliver him up to them.

⁵Oni se povesele i ugovore da će mu dati novca.

⁵And they were rejoiced, and agreed to give him money.

⁶On pristade. Otada je tražio priliku da im ga preda mimo naroda.

⁶And he came to an agreement to do it, and sought an opportunity to deliver him up to them away from the crowd.

⁷Kada dođe Dan beskvasnih kruhova, u koji je trebalo žrtvovati pashu,

⁷And the day of unleavened bread came, in which the passover was to be killed.

⁸posla Isus Petra i Ivana i reče: "Hajdete, pripravite nam da blagujemo pashu."

⁸And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare the passover for us, that we may eat [it].

⁹Rekoše mu: "Gdje hoćeš da pripravimo?"

⁹But they said to him, Where wilt thou that we prepare [it]?

¹⁰On im reče: "Evo, čim uđete u grad, namjerit ćete se na čovjeka koji nosi krčag vode. Pođite za njim u kuću u koju uniđe

¹⁰And he said to them, Behold, as ye enter into the city a man will meet you, carrying an earthen pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he goes in;

¹¹i recite domaćinu te kuće: 'Učitelj veli: Gdje je svratište u kojem bih blagovao pashu sa svojim učenicima?'

¹¹and ye shall say to the master of the house, The Teacher says to thee, Where is the guest-chamber where I may eat the passover with my disciples?

¹²I on će vam pokazati na katu veliko blagovalište prostrto: ondje pripravite."

¹²And *he* will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

¹³Oni odu, nađu kako im je rekao i priprave pashu.

¹³And having gone they found it as he had said to them; and they prepared the passover.

¹⁴Kada dođe čas, sjede Isus za stol i apostoli s njim.

¹⁴And when the hour was come, he placed himself at table, and the [twelve] apostles with him.

¹⁵I reče im: "Svom sam dušom čeznuo ovu pashu blagovati s vama prije svoje muke.

¹⁵And he said to them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer.

¹⁶Jer kažem vam, neću je više blagovati dok se ona ne završi u kraljevstvu Božjem."

¹⁶For I say unto you, that I will not eat any more at all of it until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

¹⁷I uze čašu, zahvali i reče: "Uzmite je i razdijelite među sobom.

¹⁷And having received a cup, when he had given thanks he said, Take this and divide it among yourselves.

¹⁸Jer kažem vam, ne, neću više piti od roda trsova dok kraljevstvo Božje ne dođe."

¹⁸For I say unto you, that I will not drink at all of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God come.

¹⁹I uze kruh, zahvali, razlomi i dade im govoreći: "Ovo je tijelo moje koje se za vas predaje. Ovo činite meni na spomen."

¹⁹And having taken a loaf, when he had given thanks, he broke [it], and gave [it] to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

²⁰Tako i čašu, pošto večeraše, govoreći: "Ova čaša novi je Savez u mojoj krvi koja se za vas prolijeva."

²⁰In like manner also the cup, after having supped, saying, This cup [is] the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

²¹"A evo, ruka mog izdajice sa mnom je na stolu.

²¹Moreover, behold, the hand of him that delivers me up [is] with me on the table;

²²Sin Čovječji, istina, ide kako je određeno, ali jao čovjeku onomu koji ga predaje."

²²and the Son of man indeed goes as it is determined, but woe unto that man by whom he is delivered up.

²³I oni se počeše ispitivati tko bi od njih mogao takvo što učiniti.

²³And *they* began to question together among themselves who then it could be of them who was about to do this.

²⁴Uto nasta među njima prepirka tko bi od njih bio najveći.

²⁴And there was also a strife among them which of them should be held to be [the] greatest.

²⁵A on im reče: "Kraljevi gospoduju svojim narodima i vlastodršci nazivaju sebe dobrotvorima.

²⁵And he said to them, The kings of the nations rule over them, and they that exercise authority over them are called benefactors.

²⁶Vi nemojte tako! Naprotiv, najveći među vama neka bude kao najmlađi; i predstojnik kao poslužitelj.

²⁶But *ye* [shall] not [be] thus; but let the greater among you be as the younger, and the leader as he that serves.

²⁷Ta tko je veći? Koji je za stolom ili koji poslužuje? Zar ne onaj koji je za stolom? A ja sam posred vas kao onaj koji poslužuje."

²⁷For which [is] greater, he that is at table or he that serves? [Is] not he that is at table? But *I* am in the midst of you as the one that serves.

²⁸"Da, vi ste sa mnom ustrajali u mojim kušnjama.

²⁸But *ye* are they who have persevered with me in my temptations.

²⁹Ja vam stoga u baštinu predajem kraljevstvo što ga je meni predao moj Otac:

²⁹And *I* appoint unto you, as my Father has appointed unto me, a kingdom,

³⁰da jedete i pijete za mojim stolom u kraljevstvu mojemu i sjedite na prijestoljima sudeći dvanaest plemena Izraelovih."

³⁰that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

³¹"Šimune, Šimune, evo Sotona zaiska da vas prorešeta kao pšenicu.

³¹And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to have you, to sift [you] as wheat;

³²Ali ja sam molio za tebe da ne malakše tvoja vjera. Pa kad k sebi dođeš, učvrsti svoju braću."

³²but *I* have besought for thee that thy faith fail not; and *thou*, when once thou hast been restored, confirm thy brethren.

³³Petar mu reče: "Gospodine, s tobom sam spreman i u tamnicu i u smrt."

³³And he said to him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.

³⁴A Isus će mu: "Kažem ti, Petre, neće se danas oglasiti pijetao dok triput ne zatajiš da me poznaš."

³⁴And he said, I tell thee, Peter, [the] cock shall not crow to-day before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

³⁵I reče: "Kad sam vas poslao bez kese i bez torbe i bez sandala, je li vam što nedostajalo?" Oni odgovore: "Ništa."

³⁵And he said to them, When I sent you without purse and scrip and sandals, did ye lack anything? And they said, Nothing.

³⁶Nato će im: "No sada tko ima kesu, neka je uzme! Isto tako i torbu! A koji nema, neka proda svoju haljinu i neka kupi sebi mač

³⁶He said therefore to them, But now he that has a purse let him take [it], in like manner also a scrip, and he that has none let him sell his garment and buy a sword;

³⁷jer kažem vam, ono što je napisano treba se ispuniti na meni: Među zlikovce bi ubrojen. Uistinu, sve što se odnosi na mene ispunja se."

³⁷for I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned with [the] lawless: for also the things concerning me have an end.

³⁸Oni mu rekoše: "Gospodine, evo ovdje dva mača!" Reče im: "Dosta je!"

³⁸And they said, Lord, behold here are two swords. And he said to them, It is enough.

³⁹Tada iziđe te se po običaju zaputi na Maslinsku goru. Za njim pođoše i njegovi učenici.

³⁹And going forth he went according to his custom to the mount of Olives, and the disciples also followed him.

⁴⁰Kada dođe onamo, reče im: "Molite da ne padnete u napast!"

⁴⁰And when he was at the place he said to them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

⁴¹I otrgnu se od njih koliko bi se kamenom dobacilo, pade na koljena pa se molio:

⁴¹And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's throw, and having knelt down he prayed,

⁴²"Oče! Ako hoćeš, otkloni ovu čašu od mene. Ali ne moja volja, nego tvoja neka bude!"

⁴²saying, Father, if thou wilt remove this cup from me: -- but then, not my will, but thine be done.

⁴³A ukaza mu se anđeo s neba koji ga ohrabri. A kad je bio u smrtnoj muci, usrdnije se molio.

⁴³And an angel appeared to him from heaven strengthening him.

⁴⁴I bijaše znoj njegov kao kaplje krvi koje su padale na zemlju.

⁴⁴And being in conflict he prayed more intently. And his sweat became as great drops of blood, falling down upon the earth.

⁴⁵Usta od molitve, dođe učenicima i nađe ih snene od žalosti

⁴⁵And rising up from his prayer, coming to the disciples, he found them sleeping from grief.

⁴⁶pa im reče: "Što spavate? Ustanite! Molite da ne padnete u napast!"

⁴⁶And he said to them, Why sleep ye? rise up and pray that ye enter not into temptation.

⁴⁷Dok je on još govorio, eto svjetine, a pred njom jedan od dvanaestorice, zvani Juda. On se približi Isusu da ga poljubi.

⁴⁷As he was yet speaking, behold, a crowd, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went on before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss him.

⁴⁸Isus mu reče: "Juda, poljupcem Sina Čovječjeg predaješ?"

⁴⁸And Jesus said to him, Judas, deliverest thou up the Son of man with a kiss?

⁴⁹A oni oko njega, vidjevši što se zbiva, rekoše: "Gospodine, da udarimo mačem?"

⁴⁹And they who were around him, seeing what was going to follow, said [to him], Lord, shall we smite with [the] sword?

⁵⁰I jedan od njih udari slugu velikoga svećenika i odsiječe mu desno uho.

⁵⁰And a certain one from among them smote the bondman of the high priest and took off his right ear.

⁵¹Isus odgovori: "Pustite! Dosta!" Onda se dotače uha i zacijeli ga.

⁵¹And Jesus answering said, Suffer thus far; and having touched his ear, he healed him.

⁵²Nato Isus reče onima koji se digoše na nj, glavarima svećeničkim, zapovjednicima hramskim i starješinama: "Kao na razbojnika iziđoste s mačevima i toljagama!

⁵²And Jesus said to the chief priests and captains of the temple and elders, who were come against him, Have ye come out as against a robber with swords and sticks?

⁵³Danomice bijah s vama u Hramu i ne digoste ruke na me. No ovo je vaš čas i vlast Tmina."

⁵³When I was day by day with you in the temple ye did not stretch out your hands against me; but this is your hour and the power of darkness.

⁵⁴Uhvatiše ga dakle, odvedoše i uvedoše u dom velikoga svećenika. Petar je išao za njim izdaleka.

⁵⁴And having laid hold on him, they led him [away], and they led [him] into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed afar off.

⁵⁵A posred dvorišta naložiše vatru i posjedaše uokolo. Među njih sjedne Petar.

⁵⁵And they having lit a fire in the midst of the court and sat down together, Peter sat among them.

⁵⁶Ugleda ga neka sluškinja gdje sjedi kraj vatre, oštro ga pogleda i reče: "I ovaj bijaše s njim!"

⁵⁶And a certain maid, having seen him sitting by the light, and having fixed her eyes upon him, said, And this [man] was with him.

⁵⁷A on zanijeka: "Ne znam ga, ženo!"

⁵⁷But he denied [him], saying, Woman, I do not know him.

⁵⁸Malo zatim opazi ga netko drugi i reče: "I ti si od njih!" A Petar reče: "Čovječe, nisam!"

⁵⁸And after a short time another seeing him said, And *thou* art of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.

⁵⁹I nakon otprilike jedne ure drugi neki navaljivaše: "Doista, i ovaj bijaše s njim! Ta Galilejac je!"

⁵⁹And after the lapse of about one hour another stoutly maintained it, saying, In truth this [man] also was with him, for also he is a Galilaean.

⁶⁰A Petar će: "Čovječe, ne znam što govoriš!" I umah, dok je on još govorio, oglasi se pijetao.

⁶⁰And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, [the] cock crew.

⁶¹Gospodin se obazre i upre pogled u Petra, a Petar se spomenu riječi Gospodinove, kako mu ono reče: "Prije nego se danas pijetao oglasi, zatajit ćeš me tri puta."

⁶¹And the Lord, turning round, looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him, Before [the] cock crow thou shalt deny me thrice.

⁶²I iziđe te gorko zaplaka.

⁶²And Peter, going forth without, wept bitterly.

⁶³A ljudi koji su Isusa čuvali udarajući ga poigravali se njime

⁶³And the men who held him mocked him, beating [him];

⁶⁴i zastirući mu lice, zapitkivali ga: "Proreci tko te udario!"

⁶⁴and covering him up, asked him saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck thee?

⁶⁵I mnogim se drugim pogrdama nabacivali na nj.

⁶⁵And they said many other injurious things to him.

⁶⁶A kad se razdanilo, sabra se starješinstvo narodno, glavari svećenički i pismoznanci te ga dovedoše pred svoje Vijeće

⁶⁶And when it was day, the elderhood of the people, both [the] chief priests and scribes, were gathered together, and led him into their council, saying,

⁶⁷i rekoše: "Ako si ti Krist, reci nam!" A on će im: "Ako vam reknem, nećete vjerovati;

⁶⁷If *thou* art the Christ, tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, ye will not at all believe;

⁶⁸ako vas zapitam, nećete odgovoriti.

⁶⁸and if I should ask [you], ye would not answer me at all, nor let me go;

⁶⁹No od sada će Sin Čovječji sjedjeti zdesna Sile Božje."

⁶⁹but henceforth shall the Son of man be sitting on the right hand of the power of God.

⁷⁰Nato svi rekoše: "Ti si, dakle, Sin Božji!" On im reče: "Vi velite! Ja jesam!"

⁷⁰And they all said, *Thou* then art the Son of God? And he said to them, *Ye* say that I am.

⁷¹Nato će oni: "Što nam još svjedočanstvo treba? Ta sami smo čuli iz njegovih usta!"

⁷¹And they said, What need have we any more of witness, for we have heard ourselves out of his mouth?
