1Blagoslivljaj Jahvu, dušo moja, Jahve, Bože moj, silno si velik! Odjeven veličanstvom i ljepotom,
1Bless Jehovah, O my soul! Jehovah my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with majesty and splendour;
2svjetlošću ogrnut kao plaštem! Nebo si razapeo kao šator,
2Covering thyself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent-curtain; --
3na vodama sagradio dvorove svoje. Od oblaka praviš kola svoja, na krilima vjetrova putuješ.
3Who layeth the beams of his upper chambers in the waters, who maketh clouds his chariot, who walketh upon the wings of the wind;
4Vjetrove uzimaš za glasnike, a žarki oganj za slugu svojega.
4Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flame of fire.
5Zemlju si stavio na stupove njene: neće se poljuljati u vijeke vjekova,
5He laid the earth upon its foundations: it shall not be removed for ever.
6pokrio si je vodama bezdanim k'o haljinom, iznad bregova stajahu vode;
6Thou hadst covered it with the deep, as with a vesture; the waters stood above the mountains:
7na tvoju se prijetnju povukoše, od tvoje grmljavine zadrhtaše.
7At thy rebuke they fled, at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away; --
8Bregovi se digoše, doline spustiše na mjesto koje si im odredio.
8The mountains rose, the valleys sank, unto the place which thou hadst founded for them; --
9Odredio si granicu koju ne smiju prijeći, da opet ne pokriju zemlju.
9Thou hast set a bound which they may not pass over, that they turn not again to cover the earth.
10Izvore svraćaš u potoke što žubore među brdima.
10He sendeth the springs into the valleys: they run among the mountains;
11Oni poje sve živine poljske, divlji magarci žeđ gase u njima.
11They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst.
12Uz njih se gnijezde ptice nebeske i pjevaju među granama.
12The birds of heaven dwell by them; they give forth their voice from among the branches.
13Ti natapaš bregove iz dvorova svojih, zemlja se nasićuje plodom tvojih ruku.
13He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
14Ti daješ te niče trava za stoku i bilje na korist čovjeku da izvede kruh iz zemlje
14He maketh the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; bringing forth bread out of the earth,
15i vino što razvedruje srce čovječje; da uljem lice osvježi i da kruh okrijepi srce čovjeku.
15And wine which gladdeneth the heart of man; making [his] face shine with oil; and with bread he strengtheneth man's heart.
16Stabla se Jahvina napajaju hranom, cedri libanonski koje on zasadi.
16The trees of Jehovah are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted,
17Ondje se ptice gnijezde, u čempresu dom je rodin.
17Where the birds make their nests; [as for] the stork, the fir trees are her house.
18Visoki bregovi daju kozorogu a pećine jazavcu sklonište.
18The high mountains are for the wild goats; the cliffs, a refuge for the rock-badgers.
19Ti si stvorio mjesec da označuje vremena i sunce znade kada ima zaći.
19He made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth its going down.
20Kad razastreš tmine i noć se spusti, tad se šuljaju u njoj životinje šumske.
20Thou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth:
21Lavići riču za plijenom i od Boga hranu traže.
21The young lions roar after the prey, and to seek their food from ùGod.
22Kad sunce ograne, nestaju i liježu na ležaje.
22The sun ariseth, they retreat, and lay them down in their dens.
23Tad čovjek izlazi na dnevni posao i na rad do večeri.
23Man goeth forth unto his work, and to his labour until the evening.
24Kako su brojna tvoja djela, o Jahve! Sve si to mudro učinio: puna je zemlja stvorenja tvojih.
24How manifold are thy works, O Jehovah! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
25Eno mora, velika i široka, u njemu vrve gmazovi bez broja, životinje male i velike.
25Yonder is the great and wide sea: therein are moving things innumerable, living creatures small and great.
26Onud prolaze nemani, Levijatan kojeg stvori da se igra u njemu.
26There go the ships; [there] that leviathan, which thou hast formed to play therein.
27I sva ova bića željno čekaju da ih nahraniš na vrijeme.
27These all look unto thee, that thou mayest give their food in its season:
28Daješ li im, tada sabiru: otvaraš li ruku, nasite se dobrima.
28That thou givest unto them, they gather; thou openest thy hand, they are filled with good.
29Sakriješ li lice svoje, tad se rastuže; ako dah im oduzmeš, ugibaju i opet se u prah vraćaju.
29Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled; thou takest away their breath, they expire and return to their dust.
30Pošalješ li dah svoj, opet nastaju, i tako obnavljaš lice zemlje.
30Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created, and thou renewest the face of the earth.
31Neka dovijeka traje slava Jahvina: nek' se raduje Jahve u djelima svojim!
31The glory of Jehovah will endure for ever; Jehovah will rejoice in his works.
32On pogleda zemlju i ona se potrese, dotakne bregove, oni se zadime.
32He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; he toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.
33Pjevat ću Jahvi dokle god živim, svirat ću Bogu svome dokle god me bude.
33I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live; I will sing psalms to my God while I have my being.
34Bilo mu milo pjevanje moje! Ja ću se radovati u Jahvi.
34My meditation shall be pleasant unto him; I will rejoice in Jehovah.
35Nek' zločinci sa zemlje nestanu i bezbožnika nek' više ne bude! Blagoslivljaj Jahvu, dušo moja! Aleluja!
35Sinners shall be consumed out of the earth, and the wicked shall be no more. Bless Jehovah, O my soul. Hallelujah!
