¹Dále pak, bratří, modlte se za nás, aby slovo Páně rozmáhalo se a slaveno bylo, jako i u vás,

¹Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, even as also with you;

²A abychom vysvobozeni byli od nezbedných a zlých lidí. Neboť ne všech jest víra.

²and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men; for not all have faith.

³Ale věrnýť jest Pán, kterýž utvrdí vás a ostříhati bude od zlého.

³But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and guard you from the evil one.

⁴Doufámeť pak v Pánu o vás, že to, což vám předkládáme, činíte i činiti budete.

⁴We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you both do and will do the things we command.

⁵Pán pak spravujž srdce vaše k lásce Boží a k trpělivému očekávání Krista.

⁵May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patience of Christ.

⁶Přikazujemeť pak vám, bratří, ve jménu Pána našeho Jezukrista, abyste se oddělovali od každého bratra, kterýž by se choval neřádně a ne podle naučení vydaného, kteréž přijal od nás.

⁶Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother who walks in rebellion, and not after the tradition which they received from us.

⁷Nebo sami víte, kterak jest potřebí následovati nás, poněvadž jsme se nechovali mezi vámi neslušně.

⁷For you know how you ought to imitate us. For we didn’t behave ourselves rebelliously among you,

⁸Aniž jsme darmo chleba jedli u koho, ale s prací a s těžkostí, ve dne i v noci dělajíce, abychom žádnému z vás nebyli k obtížení.

⁸neither did we eat bread from anyone’s hand without paying for it, but in labor and travail worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you;

⁹Ne jako bychom neměli k tomu práva, ale abychom se vám za příklad vydali, abyste nás následovali.

⁹not because we don’t have the right, but to make ourselves an example to you, that you should imitate us.

¹⁰Nebo i když jsme byli u vás, to jsme vám předkládali: Kdož nechce dělati, aby také nejedl.

¹⁰For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: “If anyone will not work, neither let him eat.”

¹¹Slyšímeť zajisté, že někteří mezi vámi chodí nezpůsobně, nic nedělajíce, ale v neužitečné věci se vydávajíce.

¹¹For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies.

¹²Protož těm, kteříž takoví jsou, přikazujeme, a napomínáme jich skrze Pána našeho Jezukrista, aby pokojně pracujíce, svůj chléb jedli.

¹²Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

¹³Vy pak, bratří, neoblevujte dobře činíce.

¹³But you, brothers, don’t be weary in doing well.

¹⁴Pakli kdo neuposlechne skrze psaní řeči naší, toho znamenejte, a nemějte s ním nic činiti, ať by se zastyděl.

¹⁴If any man doesn’t obey our word in this letter, note that man, that you have no company with him, to the end that he may be ashamed.

¹⁵Avšak nemějte ho za nepřítele, ale napomínejte jako bratra.

¹⁵Don’t count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

¹⁶Sám pak Pán pokoje dejž vám vždycky pokoj všelijakým způsobem. Pán budiž se všemi vámi.

¹⁶Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all.
