¹Bless Yahweh, my soul. Yahweh, my God, you are very great. You are clothed with honor and majesty.

²Přioděls se světlem jako rouchem, roztáhls nebesa jako kortýnu.

²He covers himself with light as with a garment. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain.

³Kterýž sklenul na vodách paláce své, kterýž užívá hustých oblaků místo vozů, a vznáší se na peří větrovém.

³He lays the beams of his rooms in the waters. He makes the clouds his chariot. He walks on the wings of the wind.

⁴Kterýž činí posly své duchy, služebníky své oheň plápolající.

⁴He makes his messengers or, angels winds; his servants flames of fire.

⁵Založil zemi na sloupích jejich, tak že se nepohne na věky věků.

⁵He laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved forever.

⁶Propastí jako rouchem byl jsi ji přioděl, i nad horami stály vody.

⁶You covered it with the deep as with a cloak. The waters stood above the mountains.

⁷K žehrání tvému rozběhly se, před hřmotem hromu tvého pospíšily,

⁷At your rebuke they fled. At the voice of your thunder they hurried away.

⁸(Vystoupily hory, snížilo se údolí), na místo, kteréž jsi jim založil.

⁸The mountains rose, the valleys sank down, to the place which you had assigned to them.

⁹Meze jsi položil, aby jich nepřestupovaly, ani se navracovaly k přikrývání země.

⁹You have set a boundary that they may not pass over; that they don’t turn again to cover the earth.

¹⁰Kterýž vypouštíš potoky přes údolé, aby tekli mezi horami,

¹⁰He sends forth springs into the valleys. They run among the mountains.

¹¹A nápoj dávali všechněm živočichům polním. Tuť uhašují oslové divocí žízeň svou.

¹¹They give drink to every animal of the field. The wild donkeys quench their thirst.

¹²Při nich hnízdí se ptactvo nebeské, a z prostřed ratolestí hlas svůj vydává.

¹²The birds of the sky nest by them. They sing among the branches.

¹³Kterýž svlažuješ hory z výsostí svých, aby ovocem činů tvých sytila se země.

¹³He waters the mountains from his rooms. The earth is filled with the fruit of your works.

¹⁴Dáváš, aby rostla tráva dobytku, a bylina ku potřebě člověku, abys tak vyvodil chléb z země,

¹⁴He causes the grass to grow for the livestock, and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food out of the earth:

¹⁵A víno, jenž obveseluje srdce člověka. Činí, aby se stkvěla tvář od oleje, ano i pokrmem zdržuje život lidský.

¹⁵wine that makes glad the heart of man, oil to make his face to shine, and bread that strengthens man’s heart.

¹⁶Nasyceno bývá i dříví Hospodinovo, cedrové Libánští, kteréž štípil.

¹⁶Yahweh’s trees are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted;

¹⁷Na nichž se ptáci hnízdí, i čáp příbytek svůj má na jedlí.

¹⁷where the birds make their nests. The stork makes its home in the fir trees.

¹⁸Hory vysoké jsou kamsíků, skály útočiště králíků.

¹⁸The high mountains are for the wild goats. The rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers.

¹⁹Učinil měsíc k jistým časům, a slunce zná západ svůj.

¹⁹He appointed the moon for seasons. The sun knows when to set.

²⁰Uvodíš tmu, a bývá noc, v níž vybíhají všickni živočichové lesní:

²⁰You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the animals of the forest prowl.

²¹Lvíčata řvoucí po loupeži, aby hledali od Boha silného pokrmu svého.

²¹The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God.

²²Když slunce vychází, zase shromažďují se, a v doupatech svých se ukládají.

²²The sun rises, and they steal away, and lay down in their dens.

²³Člověk vychází ku práci své, a k dílu svému až do večera.

²³Man goes forth to his work, to his labor until the evening.

²⁴Jak mnozí a velicí jsou skutkové tvoji, Hospodine! Všeckys je moudře učinil, plná jest země bohatství tvého.

²⁴Yahweh, how many are your works! In wisdom have you made them all. The earth is full of your riches.

²⁵V moři pak velikém a přeširokém, tamť jsou hmyzové nesčíslní, a živočichové malí i velicí.

²⁵There is the sea, great and wide, in which are innumerable living things, both small and large animals.

²⁶Tuť bárky přecházejí i velryb, kteréhož jsi stvořil, aby v něm hrál.

²⁶There the ships go, and leviathan, whom you formed to play there.

²⁷Všecko to na tě očekává, abys jim dával pokrm časem svým.

²⁷These all wait for you, that you may give them their food in due season.

²⁸Když jim dáváš, sbírají; když otvíráš ruku svou, nasyceni bývají dobrými věcmi.

²⁸You give to them; they gather. You open your hand; they are satisfied with good.

²⁹Když skrýváš tvář svou, rmoutí se; když odjímáš ducha jejich, hynou, a v prach svůj se navracejí.

²⁹You hide your face: they are troubled; you take away their breath: they die, and return to the dust.

³⁰Vysíláš ducha svého, a zase stvořeni bývají, a obnovuješ tvář země.

³⁰You send forth your Spirit: they are created. You renew the face of the ground.

³¹Budiž sláva Hospodinova na věky, rozveselujž se Hospodin v skutcích svých.

³¹Let the glory of Yahweh endure forever. Let Yahweh rejoice in his works.

³²On když pohledí na zemi, anať se třese; když se dotkne hor, anť se kouří.

³²He looks at the earth, and it trembles. He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

³³Zpívati budu Hospodinu, dokudž jsem živ; žalmy Bohu svému zpívati budu, pokudž mne stává.

³³I will sing to Yahweh as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have any being.

³⁴Libé bude přemyšlování mé o něm, jáť rozveselím se v Hospodinu.

³⁴Let your meditation be sweet to him. I will rejoice in Yahweh.

³⁵Ó by hříšníci vyhynuli z země, a bezbožných aby již nebylo. Dobrořeč duše má Hospodinu. Halelujah.

³⁵Let sinners be consumed out of the earth. Let the wicked be no more. Bless Yahweh, my soul. Praise Yah!
