1 Y mae tymor i bob peth, ac amser i bob gorchwyl dan y nef:
1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2 amser i eni, ac amser i farw, amser i blannu, ac amser i ddiwreiddio'r hyn a blannwyd;
2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3 amser i ladd, ac amser i iachu, amser i dynnu i lawr, ac amser i adeiladu;
3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 amser i wylo, ac amser i chwerthin, amser i alaru, ac amser i ddawnsio;
4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 amser i daflu cerrig, ac amser i'w casglu, amser i gofleidio, ac amser i ymatal;
5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 amser i geisio, ac amser i golli, amser i gadw, ac amser i daflu ymaith;
6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 amser i rwygo, ac amser i drwsio, amser i dewi, ac amser i siarad;
7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 amser i garu, ac amser i gasu, amser i ryfel, ac amser i heddwch.
8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
9 Pa elw a gaiff y gweithiwr wrth lafurio?
9What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
10 Gwelais y dasg a roddodd Duw i bobl i'w chyflawni.
10I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
11 Gwnaeth bopeth yn hyfryd yn ei amser, a hefyd rhoddodd dragwyddoldeb yng nghalonnau pobl; eto ni all neb ddirnad yr hyn a wnaeth Duw o'r dechrau i'r diwedd.
11He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12 Yr wyf yn gwybod nad oes dim yn well i bobl mewn bywyd na bod yn llawen a gwneud da,
12I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
13 a gwn mai rhodd Duw yw fod pob un yn bwyta ac yn yfed ac yn cael mwynhad o'i holl lafur.
13And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
14 Yr wyf yn gwybod hefyd fod y cyfan a wna Duw yn aros byth; ni ellir ychwanegu ato na thynnu oddi wrtho. Gweithreda Duw fel hyn er mwyn i bobl ei barchu.
14I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
15 Y mae'r hyn sy'n bod wedi bod eisoes, a'r hyn sydd i ddod hefyd wedi bod eisoes, ac y mae Duw yn chwilio am yr hyn a ddiflannodd.
15That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
16 Hefyd gwelais dan yr haul fod drygioni wedi cymryd lle barn a chyfiawnder.
16And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
17 Ond dywedais wrthyf fy hun, "Bydd Duw yn barnu'r cyfiawn a'r drygionus, oherwydd y mae wedi trefnu amser i bob gorchwyl a gwaith."
17I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
18 Dywedais wrthyf fy hun, "Y mae Duw yn profi pobl er mwyn iddynt weld eu bod fel yr anifeiliaid."
18I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.
19 Oherwydd yr un peth a ddigwydd i bobl ac anifeiliaid, yr un yw eu tynged; y mae'r naill fel y llall yn marw. Yr un anadl sydd ynddynt i gyd; nid oes gan neb dynol fantais dros anifail. Y mae hyn i gyd yn wagedd.
19For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
20 Y maent i gyd yn mynd i'r un lle; daethant i gyd o'r llwch, ac i'r llwch y maent yn dychwelyd.
20All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
21 Pwy sy'n gwybod a yw ysbryd dynol yn mynd i fyny ac ysbryd anifail yn mynd i lawr i'r ddaear?
21Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
22 Yna gwelais nad oes dim yn well i rywun na'i fwynhau ei hun yn ei waith, oherwydd dyna yw ei dynged. Pwy all wneud iddo weld beth fydd ar ei l?
22Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?
