¹ Yna atebodd yr ARGLWYDD Job o'r corwynt:

¹Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

² "Pwy yw hwn sy'n tywyllu cyngor � geiriau diwybod?

²Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

³ Gwna dy hun yn barod i'r ornest; fe holaf fi di, a chei dithau ateb.

³Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

⁴ "Ble'r oeddit ti pan osodais i sylfaen i'r ddaear? Ateb, os gwyddost.

⁴Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

⁵ Pwy a benderfynodd ei mesurau? Mae'n siu373?r dy fod yn gwybod! Pwy a estynnodd linyn mesur arni?

⁵Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

⁶ Ar beth y seiliwyd ei sylfeini, a phwy a osododd ei chonglfaen?

⁶Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

⁷ Ble'r oeddit ti pan oedd s�r y bore i gyd yn llawenhau, a'r holl angylion yn gorfoleddu,

⁷When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

⁸ pan gaewyd ar y m�r � dorau, pan lamai allan o'r groth,

⁸Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

⁹ pan osodais gwmwl yn wisg amdano, a'r caddug yn rhwymyn iddo,

⁹When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,

¹⁰ a phan drefnais derfyn iddo, a gosod barrau a dorau,

¹⁰And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,

¹¹ a dweud, 'Hyd yma yr ei, a dim pellach, ac yma y gosodais derfyn i ymchwydd dy donnau'?

¹¹And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

¹² "A wyt ti, yn ystod dy fywyd, wedi gorchymyn y bore a dangos ei lle i'r wawr,

¹²Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;

¹³ er mwyn iddi gydio yng nghonglau'r ddaear, i ysgwyd y drygionus ohoni?

¹³That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

¹⁴ Y mae'n newid ffurf fel clai dan y s�l, ac yn sefyll allan fel plyg dilledyn.

¹⁴It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.

¹⁵ Atelir eu goleuni oddi wrth y drygionus, a thorrir y fraich ddyrchafedig.

¹⁵And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.

¹⁶ "A fedri di fynd at ffynhonnell y m�r, neu gerdded yng nghuddfa'r dyfnder?

¹⁶Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

¹⁷ A agorwyd pyrth angau i ti, neu a welaist ti byrth y fagddu?

¹⁷Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

¹⁸ A fedri di ddirnad maint y ddaear? Dywed, os wyt ti'n deall hyn i gyd.

¹⁸Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.

¹⁹ "Prun yw'r ffordd i drigfan goleuni, ac i le tywyllwch,

¹⁹Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,

²⁰ fel y gelli di ei chymryd i'w therfyn, a gwybod y llwybr i'w thu375??

²⁰That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?

²¹ Fe wyddost, am dy fod wedi dy eni yr adeg honno, a bod nifer dy ddyddiau yn fawr!

²¹Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?

²² "A fuost ti yn ystordai'r eira, neu'n gweld cistiau'r cesair?

²²Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,

²³ Dyma'r pethau a gedwais at gyfnod trallod, at ddydd brwydr a rhyfel.

²³Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?

²⁴ Prun yw'r ffordd i'r fan lle y rhennir goleuni, ac y gwasgerir gwynt y dwyrain ar y ddaear?

²⁴By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?

²⁵ "Pwy a wnaeth sianel i'r cenllif glaw, a llwybr i'r daranfollt,

²⁵Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;

²⁶ i lawio ar dir heb neb ynddo, a diffeithwch heb unrhyw un yn byw ynddo,

²⁶To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man;

²⁷ i ddigoni'r tir diffaith ac anial, a pheri i laswellt dyfu yno?

²⁷To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?

²⁸ "A oes tad i'r glaw? Pwy a genhedlodd y defnynnau gwlith?

²⁸Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?

²⁹ O groth pwy y daw'r rhew? A phwy a genhedlodd y llwydrew,

²⁹Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?

³⁰ i galedu'r dyfroedd fel carreg, a rhewi wyneb y dyfnder?

³⁰The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

³¹ A fedri di gau cadwynau Pleiades, neu ddatod rhwymau Orion?

³¹Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

³² A fedri di ddwyn Masaroth allan yn ei bryd, a thywys yr Arth gyda'i phlant?

³²Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

³³ A wyddost ti reolau'r awyr? A fedri di gymhwyso i'r ddaear ei threfn?

³³Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?

³⁴ "A fedri di alw ar y cwmwl i beri i ddyfroedd lifo drosot?

³⁴Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?

³⁵ A fedri di roi gorchymyn i'r mellt, iddynt ddod atat a dweud, 'Dyma ni'?

³⁵Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go and say unto thee, Here we are?

³⁶ Pwy a rydd ddoethineb i'r cymylau, a deall i'r niwl?

³⁶Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?

³⁷ Gan bwy y mae digon o ddoethineb i gyfrif y cymylau? A phwy a wna i gostrelau'r nefoedd arllwys,

³⁷Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,

³⁸ nes bod llwch yn mynd yn llaid, a'r tywyrch yn glynu wrth ei gilydd?

³⁸When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?

³⁹ "Ai ti sydd yn hela ysglyfaeth i'r llew, a diwallu angen y llewod ifanc,

³⁹Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,

⁴⁰ pan grymant yn eu gw�l, ac aros dan lwyn am helfa?

⁴⁰When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?

⁴¹ Pwy sy'n trefnu bwyd i'r fr�n, pan waedda'r cywion ar Dduw, a hedfan o amgylch heb fwyd?

⁴¹Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.
