1 Atebodd Job:
1And Job answered and said,
2 "Yn wir, chwi yw'r bobl, a chyda chwi y derfydd doethineb!
2Truly ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you!
3 Ond y mae gennyf finnau ddeall fel chwithau, ac nid wyf yn salach na chwi; yn wir, pwy sydd heb wybod hyn?
3I also have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you; and who knoweth not such things as these?
4 "Yr wyf yn gyff gwawd i'm cyfeillion, er imi alw ar Dduw ac iddo yntau ateb; y cyfiawn a'r perffaith yn gyff gwawd!
4I am to be one that is a derision to his friend, I who call upon +God, and whom he will answer: a derision is the just upright [man].
5 Dirmygir dinistr gan y rhai sydd mewn esmwythyd, a sefydlogrwydd gan y rhai y mae eu traed yn llithro.
5He that is ready to stumble with the foot is a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.
6 Llwyddiant sydd ym mhebyll yr anrheithwyr, a diogelwch i'r rhai sy'n blino Duw � rhai wedi cael Duw dan eu bawd!
6The tents of desolators are in peace, and they that provoke ùGod are secure; into whose hand +God bringeth.
7 "Ond yn awr gofyn i'r anifeiliaid dy ddysgu, ac i adar y nefoedd fynegi i ti,
7But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowl of the heavens, and they shall tell thee;
8 neu i blanhigion y tir dy hyfforddi, ac i bysgod y m�r dy gyfarwyddo.
8Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee; and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
9 Pwy na ddealla oddi wrth hyn i gyd mai llaw'r ARGLWYDD a'u gwnaeth?
9Who knoweth not in all these, that the hand of Jehovah hath wrought this?
10 Yn ei law ef y mae einioes pob peth byw, ac anadl pob un meidrol.
10In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the spirit of all flesh of man.
11 Onid yw'r glust yn profi geiriau, fel y mae taflod y genau yn blasu bwyd?
11Doth not the ear try words, as the palate tasteth food?
12 "Ai ymhlith yr oedrannus y ceir doethineb, a deall gyda'r rhai sydd ymlaen mewn dyddiau?
12With the aged is wisdom, and in length of days understanding.
13 Gan Dduw y mae doethineb a chryfder, a chyngor a deall sydd eiddo iddo.
13With him is wisdom and might; he hath counsel and understanding.
14 Os dinistria, nid adeiledir: os carchara neb, nid oes rhyddhad.
14Behold, he breaketh down, and it is not built again; he shutteth up a man, and there is no opening.
15 Os atal ef y dyfroedd, yna y mae sychder; a phan ollwng hwy, yna gorlifant y ddaear.
15Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up; and he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
16 Ganddo ef y mae nerth a gwir ddoethineb; ef biau'r sawl a dwyllir a'r sawl sy'n twyllo.
16With him is strength and effectual knowledge; the deceived and the deceiver are his.
17 Gwna i gynghorwyr gerdded yn droednoeth, a gwawdia farnwyr.
17He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and judges maketh he fools;
18 Y mae'n datod gwregys brenhinoedd, ac yn rhwymo carpiau am eu llwynau.
18He weakeneth the government of kings, and bindeth their loins with a fetter;
19 Gwna i offeiriaid gerdded yn droednoeth, a lloria'r rhai sefydledig.
19He leadeth priests away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty;
20 Diddyma ymadrodd y rhai y credir ynddynt, a chymer graffter yr henuriaid oddi wrthynt.
20He depriveth of speech the trusty, and taketh away the judgment of the elders;
21 Fe dywallt ddirmyg ar bendefigion, a gwanhau nerth y cryfion.
21He poureth contempt upon nobles, and slackeneth the girdle of the mighty;
22 Y mae'n datguddio cyfrinachau o'r tywyllwch, ac yn troi'r fagddu yn oleuni.
22He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out into light the shadow of death;
23 Fe amlha genhedloedd, ac yna fe'u dinistria; fe ehanga genhedloedd, ac yna fe'u dwg ymaith.
23He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them; he spreadeth out the nations, and bringeth them in;
24 Diddyma farn penaethiaid y ddaear, a pheri iddynt grwydro mewn diffeithwch di-ffordd;
24He taketh away the understanding of the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste.
25 ymbalfalant yn y tywyllwch heb oleuni; fe wna iddynt simsanu fel meddwon.
25They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunkard.
