1 "Gwelodd fy llygad hyn i gyd; clywodd fy nghlust ef, a'i ddeall.
1Lo, mine eye hath seen all [this], mine ear hath heard and understood it.
2 Rwyf finnau'n deall gystal chwithau; nid wyf yn ddim salach na chwi.
2What ye know, I know also: I am not inferior to you.
3 Eto 'r Hollalluog y dymunaf siarad, a dadlau fy achos gyda Duw;
3But I will speak to the Almighty, and will find pleasure in reasoning with ùGod;
4 ond yr ydych chwi'n palu celwydd, a'r cwbl ohonoch yn plethu anwiredd.
4For ye indeed are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.
5 O na fyddech yn cadw'n ddistaw! Hynny a fyddai'n ddoeth i chwi.
5Oh that ye would be altogether silent! and it would be your wisdom.
6 Gwrandewch yn awr ar fy achos, a rhowch ystyriaeth i'm dadl.
6Hear now my defence, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.
7 A ddywedwch gelwydd dros Dduw, a thwyll er ei fwyn?
7Will ye speak unrighteously for ùGod? and for him speak deceit?
8 A gymerwch chwi ei blaid, a dadlau dros Dduw?
8Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for ùGod?
9 A fydd yn dda arnoch pan chwilia ef chwi? A ellwch ei dwyllo ef fel y twyllir meidrolyn?
9Will it be well if he should search you out? or as one mocketh at a man, will ye mock at him?
10 Bydd ef yn sicr o'ch ceryddu os cymerwch ffafriaeth yn y dirgel.
10He will certainly reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.
11 Onid yw ei fawredd yn eich dychryn? Oni ddisgyn ei arswyd arnoch?
11Shall not his excellency terrify you? and his dread fall upon you?
12 Geiriau lludw yw eich gwirebau, a chlai yw eich amddiffyniad.
12Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes, your bulwarks are bulwarks of mire.
13 "Byddwch ddistaw, a gadewch i mi lefaru, a doed a ddelo arnaf.
13Hold your peace from me, and I will speak, and let come on me what [will]!
14 Cymeraf fy nghnawd rhwng fy nannedd, a'm heinioes yn fy nwylo.
14Wherefore should I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand?
15 Yn sicr, fe'm lladd; nid oes gobaith imi; eto amddiffynnaf fy muchedd o'i flaen.
15Behold, if he slay me, yet would I trust in him; but I will defend mine own ways before him.
16 A hyn sy'n rhoi hyder i mi, na all neb annuwiol fynd ato.
16This also shall be my salvation, that a profane man shall not come before his face.
17 Gwrandewch yn astud ar fy ngeiriau, a rhowch glust i'm tystiolaeth.
17Hear attentively my speech and my declaration with your ears.
18 Dyma fi wedi trefnu f'achos; gwn y caf fy nghyfiawnhau.
18Behold now, I have ordered the cause; I know that I shall be justified.
19 Pwy sydd i ddadlau mi, i wneud imi dewi a rhoi i fyny'r ysbryd?
19Who is he that contendeth with me? For if I were silent now, I should expire.
20 Gwna ddau beth yn unig imi, ac nid ymguddiaf oddi wrthyt:
20Only do not two things unto me; then will I not hide myself from thee.
21 symud dy law oddi arnaf, fel na'm dychryner gan dy arswyd;
21Withdraw thy hand far from me; and let not thy terror make me afraid:
22 yna galw arnaf ac atebaf finnau, neu gad i mi siarad a rho di ateb.
22Then call, and I will answer; or I will speak, and answer thou me.
23 Beth yw nifer fy meiau a'm pechodau? Dangos imi fy nhrosedd a'm pechod.
23How many are mine iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgression and my sin.
24 Pam yr wyt yn cuddio dy wyneb, ac yn f'ystyried yn elyn iti?
24Wherefore dost thou hide thy face, and countest me for thine enemy?
25 A ddychryni di ddeilen grin, ac ymlid soflyn sych?
25Wilt thou terrify a driven leaf? and wilt thou pursue dry stubble?
26 Oherwydd dygaist bethau chwerw yn f'erbyn, a gwneud imi etifeddu drygioni fy ieuenctid.
26For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth;
27 Gosodaist fy nhraed mewn cyffion (yr wyt yn gwylio fy holl ffyrdd), a rhoist nod ar wadnau fy nhraed.
27And thou puttest my feet in the stocks, and markest all my paths; thou settest a bound about the soles of my feet; --
28 Ond derfydd dyn fel costrel groen, fel dilledyn wedi ei ysu gan wyfyn.
28One who, as a rotten thing consumeth, as a garment that the moth eateth.
