Darby's Translation

Job

23

1 Atebodd Job:
1And Job answered and said,
2 "Heddiw eto y mae fy nghwyn yn chwerw, a'i law sy'n drwm er gwaethaf f'ochenaid.
2Even to-day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
3 O na wyddwn ble y cawn ef, a pha fodd i ddod at ei drigfan!
3Oh that I knew where I might find him, that I might come to his seat!
4 Yna gosodwn fy achos o'i flaen, a llenwi fy ngenau dadleuon.
4I would order the cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments;
5 Mynnwn wybod sut yr atebai fi, a deall beth a ddywedai wrthyf.
5I would know the words he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
6 Ai gyda'i holl nerth y dadleuai mi? Na, ond fe roddai sylw imi.
6Would he plead against me with [his] great power? Nay; but he would give heed unto me.
7 Sylwai mai un uniawn a ymresymai ag ef, a chawn fy rhyddhau am byth gan fy marnwr.
7There would an upright man reason with him; and I should be delivered for ever from my judge.
8 "Os af i'r dwyrain, nid yw ef yno; ac os i'r gorllewin, ni chanfyddaf ef.
8Lo, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I do not perceive him;
9 Pan weithreda yn y gogledd, ni sylwaf; os try i'r de, nis gwelaf.
9On the left hand, where he doth work, but I behold [him] not; he hideth himself on the right hand, and I see [him] not.
10 Ond y mae ef yn deall fy ffordd; wedi iddo fy mhrofi, dof allan fel aur.
10But he knoweth the way that I take; he trieth me, I shall come forth as gold.
11 Dilyn fy nhroed ei lwybr; cadwaf ei ffordd heb wyro.
11My foot hath held to his steps; his way have I kept, and not turned aside.
12 Ni chiliaf oddi wrth orchmynion ei enau; cadwaf ei eiriau yn fy mynwes.
12Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have laid up the words of his mouth more than the purpose of my own heart.
13 Erys ef yr un, a phwy a'i try? Fe wna beth bynnag a ddymuna.
13But he is in one [mind], and who can turn him? And what his soul desireth, that will he do.
14 Yn wir fe ddwg fy nedfryd i ben, fel llawer o rai eraill sydd ganddo.
14For he will perform [what] is appointed for me; and many such things are with him.
15 Am hyn yr arswydaf rhagddo; pan ystyriaf, fe'i hofnaf.
15Therefore am I troubled at his presence; I consider, and I am afraid of him.
16 Duw sy'n gwanychu fy nghalon; yr Hollalluog sy'n fy nychryn;
16For ùGod hath made my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me;
17 nid y tywyllwch sy'n cyfyngu arnaf, na'r fagddu'n fy nghuddio.
17Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he hidden the gloom from me.
