Darby's Translation

Job

8

1 Yna atebodd Bildad y Suhiad:
1And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
2 "Am ba hyd y lleferi fel hyn, a chymaint o ymffrost yn dy eiriau?
2How long wilt thou speak these things? and the words of thy mouth be a strong wind?
3 A yw Duw yn gwyrdroi barn? A yw'r Hollalluog yn gwyro cyfiawnder?
3Doth ùGod pervert judgment, and the Almighty pervert justice?
4 Pan bechodd dy feibion yn ei erbyn, fe'u trosglwyddodd i afael eu trosedd.
4If thy children have sinned against him, he hath also given them over into the hand of their transgression.
5 Os ceisi di Dduw yn ddyfal, ac ymbil ar yr Hollalluog,
5If thou seek earnestly unto ùGod, and make thy supplication to the Almighty,
6 ac os wyt yn bur ac uniawn, yna fe wylia ef drosot, a'th adfer i'th safle o gyfiawnder.
6If thou be pure and upright, surely now he will awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous;
7 Pe byddai dy ddechreuad yn fychan, byddai dy ddiwedd yn fawr.
7And though thy beginning was small, yet thine end shall be very great.
8 "Yn awr gofyn i'r oes a fu, ac ystyria'r hyn a ganfu'r hynafiaid.
8For inquire, I pray thee, of the former generation, and attend to the researches of their fathers;
9 Canys nid ydym ni ond er doe, ac anwybodus u375?m, a chysgod yw ein dyddiau ar y ddaear.
9For we are [but] of yesterday, and know nothing, for our days upon earth are a shadow.
10 Oni fyddant hwy'n dy hyfforddi, a mynegi wrthyt, a rhoi atebion deallus?
10Shall not they teach thee, [and] tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
11 A dyf brwyn lle nad oes cors? A ffynna hesg heb ddu373?r?
11Doth the papyrus shoot up without mire? doth the reed-grass grow without water?
12 Er eu bod yn ir a heb eu torri, eto gwywant yn gynt na'r holl blanhigion.
12Whilst it is yet in its greenness [and] not cut down, it withereth before any [other] grass.
13 Felly y mae tynged yr holl rai sy'n anghofio Duw, ac y derfydd gobaith yr annuwiol.
13So are the paths of all that forget ùGod; and the profane man's hope shall perish,
14 Edau frau yw ei hyder, a'i ymffrost fel gwe'r pryf copyn.
14Whose confidence shall be cut off, and his reliance is a spider's web.
15 Pwysa ar ei du375?, ond ni saif; cydia ynddo, ond ni ddeil.
15He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand; he shall lay hold on it, but it shall not endure.
16 Bydd yn ir yn llygad yr haul, yn estyn ei frigau dros yr ardd;
16He is full of sap before the sun, and his sprout shooteth forth over his garden;
17 ymbletha'i wraidd dros y pentwr cerrig, a daw i'r golwg rhwng y meini.
17His roots are entwined about the stoneheap; he seeth the place of stones.
18 Ond os diwreiddir ef o'i le, fe'i gwedir: 'Ni welais di'.
18If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him: I have not seen thee!
19 Gwywo felly yw ei natur; ac yna tyf un arall o'r pridd.
19Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the dust shall others grow.
20 "Wele, ni wrthyd Duw yr uniawn, ac ni chydia yn llaw y drygionus.
20Behold, ùGod will not cast off a perfect man, neither will he take evil-doers by the hand.
21 Lleinw eto dy enau chwerthin, a'th wefusau gorfoledd.
21Whilst he would fill thy mouth with laughing and thy lips with shouting,
22 Gwisgir dy elynion gwarth, a diflanna pabell y drygionus."
22They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked be no more.
