1 1 I'r Cyfarwyddwr: i feibion Cora. Salm.0 Clywch hyn, yr holl bobloedd, gwrandewch, holl drigolion byd,
1{To the chief Musician. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.} Hear this, all ye peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world:
2 yn wreng a bonedd, yn gyfoethog a thlawd.
2Both men of low and men of high degree, rich and poor alike.
3 Llefara fy ngenau ddoethineb, a bydd myfyrdod fy nghalon yn ddeallus.
3My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding:
4 Gogwyddaf fy nghlust at ddihareb, a datgelaf fy nychymyg 'r delyn.
4I will incline mine ear to a parable, I will open my riddle upon the harp.
5 Pam yr ofnaf yn nyddiau adfyd, pan yw drygioni fy nisodlwyr o'm cwmpas,
5Wherefore should I fear in the days of adversity, [when] the iniquity of my supplanters encompasseth me? --
6 rhai sy'n ymddiried yn eu golud ac yn ymffrostio yn nigonedd eu cyfoeth?
6They depend upon their wealth, and boast themselves in the abundance of their riches. ...
7 Yn wir, ni all neb ei waredu ei hun na thalu iawn i Dduw
7None can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him,
8 oherwydd rhy uchel yw pris ei fywyd, ac ni all byth ei gyrraedd
8(For the redemption of their soul is costly, and must be given up for ever,)
9 iddo gael byw am byth a pheidio gweld Pwll Distryw.
9That he should still live perpetually, [and] not see corruption.
10 Ond gwl fod y doethion yn marw, fod yr ynfyd a'r dwl yn trengi, ac yn gadael eu cyfoeth i eraill.
10For he seeth that wise men die; all alike, the fool and the brutish perish, and they leave their wealth to others.
11 Eu bedd yw eu cartref bythol, eu trigfan dros y cenedlaethau, er iddynt gael tiroedd i'w henwau.
11Their inward thought is, that their houses are for ever, their dwelling-places from generation to generation: they call the lands after their own names.
12 Ni all neb aros mewn rhwysg; y mae fel yr anifeiliaid sy'n darfod.
12Nevertheless, man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
13 Dyma yw tynged yr ynfyd, a diwedd y rhai sy'n cymeradwyo eu geiriau. Sela.
13This their way is their folly, yet they that come after them delight in their sayings. Selah.
14 Fel defaid y tynghedir hwy i Sheol; angau fydd yn eu bugeilio; disgynnant yn syth i'r bedd, a bydd eu ffurf yn darfod; Sheol fydd eu cartref.
14Like sheep are they laid in Sheol: Death feedeth on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their comeliness shall be for Sheol to consume, that there be no habitation for them.
15 Ond bydd Duw'n gwaredu fy mywyd ac yn fy nghymryd o afael Sheol. Sela.
15But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol: for he will receive me. Selah.
16 Paid ag ofni pan ddaw rhywun yn gyfoethog a phan gynydda golud ei du375?,
16Be not afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased:
17 oherwydd ni chymer ddim pan fo'n marw, ac nid ei gyfoeth i lawr i'w ganlyn.
17For when he dieth, he shall carry nothing away; his glory shall not descend after him.
18 Er iddo yn ei fywyd ei ystyried ei hun yn ddedwydd, a bod pobl yn ei ganmol am iddo wneud yn dda,
18Though he blessed his soul in his lifetime, -- and men will praise thee when thou doest well to thyself, --
19 fe at genhedlaeth ei hynafiaid, ac ni wl oleuni byth mwy.
19It shall go to the generation of his fathers: they shall never see light.
20 Ni all neb aros mewn rhwysg; y mae fel yr anifeiliaid sy'n darfod.
20Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
