Psalms

74

1 1 Mascl. I Asaff.0 Pam, Dduw, y bwriaist ni ymaith am byth? Pam y myga dy ddigofaint yn erbyn defaid dy borfa?
1{An instruction: of Asaph.} Why, O God, hast thou cast off for ever? [why] doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
2 Cofia dy gynulleidfa a brynaist gynt, y llwyth a waredaist yn etifeddiaeth iti, a Mynydd Seion lle'r oeddit yn trigo.
2Remember thine assembly, which thou hast purchased of old, which thou hast redeemed [to be] the portion of thine inheritance, this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
3 Cyfeiria dy draed at yr adfeilion bythol; dinistriodd y gelyn bopeth yn y cysegr.
3Lift up thy steps unto the perpetual desolations: everything in the sanctuary hath the enemy destroyed.
4 Rhuodd dy elynion yng nghanol dy gysegr, a gosod eu harwyddion eu hunain yn arwyddion yno.
4Thine adversaries roar in the midst of thy place of assembly; they set up their signs [for] signs.
5 Y maent wedi malurio, fel coedwigwyr yn chwifio'u bwyeill mewn llwyn o goed.
5[A man] was known as he could lift up axes in the thicket of trees;
6 Rhwygasant yr holl waith cerfiedig a'i falu bwyeill a morthwylion.
6And now they break down its carved work altogether, with hatchets and hammers.
7 Rhoesant dy gysegr ar dn, a halogi'n llwyr breswylfod dy enw.
7They have set on fire thy sanctuary, they have profaned the habitation of thy name to the ground.
8 Dywedasant ynddynt eu hunain, "Difodwn hwy i gyd"; llosgasant holl gysegrau Duw trwy'r tir.
8They said in their heart, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all ùGod's places of assembly in the land.
9 Ni welwn arwyddion i ni, nid oes proffwyd mwyach; ac nid oes yn ein plith un a u373?yr am ba hyd.
9We see not our signs; there is no more any prophet, neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
10 Am ba hyd, O Dduw, y gwawdia'r gwrthwynebwr? A yw'r gelyn i ddifro dy enw am byth?
10How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy contemn thy name for ever?
11 Pam yr wyt yn atal dy law, ac yn cuddio dy ddeheulaw yn dy fynwes?
11Why withdrawest thou thy hand, and thy right hand? [pluck it] out of thy bosom: consume [them].
12 Ond ti, O Dduw, yw fy mrenin erioed, yn gweithio iachawdwriaeth ar y ddaear.
12But God is my king of old, accomplishing deliverances in the midst of the earth.
13 Ti, 'th nerth, a rannodd y mr, torraist bennau'r dreigiau yn y dyfroedd.
13*Thou* didst divide the sea by thy strength; thou didst break the heads of the monsters on the waters:
14 Ti a ddrylliodd bennau Lefiathan, a'i roi'n fwyd i fwystfilod y mr.
14*Thou* didst break in pieces the heads of leviathan, thou gavest him to be meat to those that people the desert.
15 Ti a agorodd ffynhonnau ac afonydd, a sychu'r dyfroedd di-baid.
15*Thou* didst cleave fountain and torrent, *thou* driedst up ever-flowing rivers.
16 Eiddot ti yw dydd a nos, ti a sefydlodd oleuni a haul.
16The day is thine, the night also is thine; *thou* hast prepared the moon and the sun:
17 Ti a osododd holl derfynau daear, ti a drefnodd haf a gaeaf.
17*Thou* hast set all the borders of the earth; summer and winter -- *thou* didst form them.
18 Cofia, O ARGLWYDD, fel y mae'r gelyn yn gwawdio, a phobl ynfyd yn difro dy enw.
18Remember this, that an enemy hath reproached Jehovah, and a foolish people have contemned thy name.
19 Paid rhoi dy golomen i'r bwystfilod, nac anghofio bywyd dy drueiniaid am byth.
19Give not up the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast; forget not the troop of thine afflicted for ever.
20 Rho sylw i'th gyfamod, oherwydd y mae cuddfannau'r ddaear yn llawn ac yn gartref i drais.
20Have respect unto the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the dwellings of violence.
21 Paid gadael i'r gorthrymedig droi ymaith yn ddryslyd; bydded i'r tlawd a'r anghenus glodfori dy enw.
21Oh let not the oppressed one return ashamed; let the afflicted and needy praise thy name.
22 Cyfod, O Dduw, i ddadlau dy achos; cofia fel y mae'r ynfyd yn dy wawdio'n wastad.
22Rise up, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee all the day;
23 Paid ag anghofio crechwen dy elynion, a chrochlefain cynyddol dy wrthwynebwyr.
23Forget not the voice of thine adversaries: the tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.
