¹ Aeth holl gynulliad pobl Israel ymaith o anialwch Sin a symud o le i le fel yr oedd yr ARGLWYDD yn gorchymyn, a gwersyllu yn Reffidim; ond nid oedd yno ddu373?r i'w yfed.

¹All the congregation of the children of Israel traveled from the wilderness of Sin, by their journeys, according to Yahweh’s commandment, and encamped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink.

² Felly dechreuodd y bobl ymryson � Moses, a dweud, "Rho inni ddu373?r i'w yfed." Ond dywedodd Moses wrthynt, "Pam yr ydych yn ymryson � mi ac yn herio'r ARGLWYDD?"

²Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said, “Give us water to drink.” Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test Yahweh?”

³ Yr oedd y bobl yn sychedu yno am ddu373?r, a dechreuasant rwgnach yn erbyn Moses, a dweud, "Pam y daethost � ni i fyny o'r Aifft? Ai er mwyn ein lladd ni a'n plant a'n hanifeiliaid � syched?"

³The people were thirsty for water there; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?”

⁴ Felly galwodd Moses ar yr ARGLWYDD a dweud, "Beth a wnaf �'r bobl hyn? Y maent bron �'m llabyddio!"

⁴Moses cried to Yahweh, saying, “What shall I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me.”

⁵ Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrtho, "Cerdda o flaen y bobl gyda rhai o henuriaid Israel, a chymer yn dy law y wialen y trewaist y Neil � hi, a dos ymlaen.

⁵Yahweh said to Moses, “Walk on before the people, and take the elders of Israel with you, and take the rod in your hand with which you struck the Nile, and go.

⁶ Pan weli fi'n sefyll o'th flaen ar graig yn Horeb, taro'r graig, a daw du373?r allan ohoni, a chaiff y bobl yfed." Gwnaeth Moses hyn ym mhresenoldeb henuriaid Israel.

⁶Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb. You shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

⁷ Galwodd enw'r lle yn Massa a Meriba, oherwydd ymryson yr Israeliaid ac am iddynt herio'r ARGLWYDD trwy ofyn, "A yw'r ARGLWYDD yn ein plith, ai nac ydyw?"

⁷He called the name of the place Massah, Massah means testing. and Meribah, Meribah means quarreling. because the children of Israel quarreled, and because they tested Yahweh, saying, “Is Yahweh among us, or not?”

⁸ Pan ddaeth Amalec i ymladd yn erbyn Israel yn Reffidim,

⁸Then Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

⁹ dywedodd Moses wrth Josua, "Dewis dy wu375?r, a dos ymaith i ymladd yn erbyn Amalec; yfory, fe gymeraf finnau fy lle ar ben y bryn, � gwialen Duw yn fy llaw."

⁹Moses said to Joshua, “Choose men for us, and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with God’s rod in my hand.”

¹⁰ Gwnaeth Josua fel yr oedd Moses wedi dweud wrtho, ac ymladdodd yn erbyn Amalec; yna aeth Moses, Aaron a Hur i fyny i ben y bryn.

¹⁰So Joshua did as Moses had told him, and fought with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.

¹¹ Pan godai Moses ei law, byddai Israel yn trechu; a phan ostyngai ei law, byddai Amalec yn trechu.

¹¹It happened, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

¹² Pan aeth ei ddwylo'n flinedig, cymerwyd carreg a'i gosod dano, ac eisteddodd Moses arni, gydag Aaron ar y naill ochr iddo a Hur ar y llall, yn cynnal ei ddwylo, fel eu bod yn gadarn hyd fachlud haul.

¹²But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side. His hands were steady until sunset.

¹³ Felly, gorchfygodd Josua Amalec a'i bobl � min y cleddyf.

¹³Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

¹⁴ Dywedodd yr ARGLWYDD wrth Moses, "Ysgrifenna hyn mewn llyfr yn goffadwriaeth, a mynega'r peth yng nghlyw Josua, sef fy mod am ddileu yn llwyr oddi tan y nefoedd bob atgof am Amalec."

¹⁴Yahweh said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky.”

¹⁵ Yna adeiladodd Moses allor a'i henwi'n Jehofa-nissi,

¹⁵Moses built an altar, and called its name Yahweh our Banner. Hebrew, Yahweh Nissi

¹⁶ a dweud, "Llaw ar faner yr ARGLWYDD! Bydd rhyfel rhwng yr ARGLWYDD ac Amalec o genhedlaeth i genhedlaeth."

¹⁶He said, “Yah has sworn: ‘Yahweh will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.’”
