1 Gorchmynnodd Joseff i swyddog ei du375?, "Llanw sachau'r dynion chymaint ag y gallant ei gario o fwyd, a rho arian pob un yng ngenau ei sach.
1He commanded the steward of his house, saying, “Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put each man’s money in his sack’s mouth.
2 A rho fy nghwpan i, y cwpan arian, yng ngenau sach yr ieuengaf, gyda'i arian am yr u375?d." Gwnaeth yntau fel y dywedodd Joseff.
2Put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack’s mouth of the youngest, with his grain money.” He did according to the word that Joseph had spoken.
3 Pan dorrodd y wawr, anfonwyd y dynion ymaith gyda'u hasynnod.
3As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their donkeys.
4 Wedi iddynt fynd ychydig bellter o'r ddinas dywedodd Joseff wrth swyddog ei du375?, "I ffwrdd thi ar l y dynion, a phan oddiweddi hwy dywed wrthynt, 'Pam yr ydych wedi talu drwg am dda? Pam yr ydych wedi lladrata fy nghwpan arian?
4When they had gone out of the city, and were not yet far off, Joseph said to his steward, “Up, follow after the men. When you overtake them, ask them, ‘Why have you rewarded evil for good?
5 O hwn y byddai f'arglwydd yn yfed ac yn dewino. Yr ydych wedi gwneud peth drwg.'"
5Isn’t this that from which my lord drinks, and by which he indeed divines? You have done evil in so doing.’”
6 Pan oddiweddodd hwy dywedodd felly wrthynt.
6He overtook them, and he spoke these words to them.
7 Atebasant hwythau, "Pam y mae ein harglwydd yn dweud peth fel hyn? Ni fyddai dy weision byth yn gwneud y fath beth.
7They said to him, “Why does my lord speak such words as these? Far be it from your servants that they should do such a thing!
8 Cofia ein bod wedi dod 'r arian a gawsom yng ngenau ein sachau yn l atat o wlad Canaan. Pam felly y byddem yn lladrata arian neu aur o du375? dy arglwydd?
8Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks’ mouths, we brought again to you out of the land of Canaan. How then should we steal silver or gold out of your lord’s house?
9 Os ceir y cwpan gan un o'th weision, bydded hwnnw farw; a byddwn ninnau'n gaethion i'n harglwydd."
9With whomever of your servants it is found, let him die, and we also will be my lord’s bondservants.”
10 "o'r gorau," meddai yntau, "bydded fel y dywedwch chwi. Bydd yr un y ceir y cwpan ganddo yn gaethwas i mi, ond bydd y gweddill ohonoch yn rhydd."
10He said, “Now also let it be according to your words: he with whom it is found will be my bondservant; and you will be blameless.”
11 Yna tynnodd pob un ei sach i lawr ar unwaith, a'i agor.
11Then they hurried, and each man took his sack down to the ground, and each man opened his sack.
12 Chwiliodd yntau, gan ddechrau gyda'r hynaf a gorffen gyda'r ieuengaf, a chafwyd y cwpan yn sach Benjamin.
12He searched, beginning with the eldest, and ending at the youngest. The cup was found in Benjamin’s sack.
13 Rhwygasant eu dillad, a llwythodd pob un ei asyn a dychwelyd i'r ddinas.
13Then they tore their clothes, and each man loaded his donkey, and returned to the city.
14 Pan ddaeth Jwda a'i frodyr i'r tu375?, yr oedd Joseff yno o hyd, a syrthiasant i lawr o'i flaen.
14Judah and his brothers came to Joseph’s house, and he was still there. They fell on the ground before him.
15 Dywedodd Joseff wrthynt, "Beth yw hyn yr ydych wedi ei wneud? Oni wyddech fod dyn fel fi yn gallu dewino?"
15Joseph said to them, “What deed is this that you have done? Don’t you know that such a man as I can indeed divine?”
16 Atebodd Jwda, "Beth a ddywedwn wrth fy arglwydd? Beth a lefarwn? Sut y gallwn brofi ein diniweidrwydd? Y mae Duw wedi dangos twyll dy weision. Dyma ni, a'r un yr oedd y cwpan ganddo, yn gaethion i'n harglwydd."
16Judah said, “What will we tell my lord? What will we speak? Or how will we clear ourselves? God has found out the iniquity of your servants. Behold, we are my lord’s bondservants, both we, and he also in whose hand the cup is found.”
17 Ond dywedodd Joseff, "Ni allaf wneud peth felly. Dim ond yr un yr oedd y cwpan ganddo a fydd yn gaethwas i mi. Cewch chwi fynd mewn heddwch at eich tad."
17He said, “Far be it from me that I should do so. The man in whose hand the cup is found, he will be my bondservant; but as for you, go up in peace to your father.”
18 Yna nesaodd Jwda ato, a dweud, "O f'arglwydd, caniat i'th was lefaru yng nghlyw f'arglwydd, a phaid digio wrth dy was; oherwydd yr wyt ti fel Pharo.
18Then Judah came near to him, and said, “Oh, my lord, please let your servant speak a word in my lord’s ears, and don’t let your anger burn against your servant; for you are even as Pharaoh.
19 Holodd f'arglwydd ei weision, 'A oes gennych dad, neu frawd?'
19My lord asked his servants, saying, ‘Have you a father, or a brother?’
20 Ac atebasom ein harglwydd, 'Y mae gennym dad sy'n hen u373?r, a brawd bach, plentyn ei henaint. Bu farw ei frawd, ac ef yn unig sy'n aros o blant ei fam, ac y mae ei dad yn ei garu.'
20We said to my lord, ‘We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother; and his father loves him.’
21 Yna dywedaist wrth dy weision, 'Dewch ag ef i lawr ataf imi gael ei weld.'
21You said to your servants, ‘Bring him down to me, that I may set my eyes on him.’
22 Dywedasom wrth f'arglwydd, 'Ni all y bachgen adael ei dad, oherwydd os gwna, bydd ei dad farw.'
22We said to my lord, ‘The boy can’t leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die.’
23 Dywedaist tithau wrth dy weision, 'Os na ddaw eich brawd ieuengaf gyda chwi, ni chewch weld fy wyneb i eto.'
23You said to your servants, ‘Unless your youngest brother comes down with you, you will see my face no more.’
24 Aethom yn l at dy was ein tad, ac adrodd wrtho eiriau f'arglwydd.
24It happened when we came up to your servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.
25 A phan ddywedodd ein tad, 'Ewch yn l i brynu ychydig o fwyd i ni',
25Our father said, ‘Go again, buy us a little food.’
26 atebasom, 'Ni allwn fynd. Fe awn os daw ein brawd ieuengaf gyda ni, ond ni chawn weld wyneb y dyn os na fydd ef gyda ni.'
26We said, ‘We can’t go down. If our youngest brother is with us, then we will go down: for we may not see the man’s face, unless our youngest brother is with us.’
27 A dywedodd dy was ein tad wrthym, 'Gwyddoch i'm gwraig esgor ar ddau fab;
27Your servant, my father, said to us, ‘You know that my wife bore me two sons:
28 aeth un ymaith a dywedais, "Rhaid ei fod wedi ei larpio", ac ni welais ef wedyn.
28and the one went out from me, and I said, “Surely he is torn in pieces”; and I haven’t seen him since.
29 Os cymerwch hwn hefyd ymaith a bod niwed yn digwydd iddo, yna fe wnewch i'm penwynni ddisgyn i'r bedd mewn tristwch.'
29If you take this one also from me, and harm happens to him, you will bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. .’
30 Ac yn awr os dof at dy was fy nhad heb y bachgen,
30Now therefore when I come to your servant my father, and the boy is not with us; since his life is bound up in the boy’s life;
31 bydd farw pan wl na ddaeth y bachgen yn l, am fod einioes y ddau ynghlwm wrth ei gilydd; a bydd dy weision yn peri i benwynni dy was ein tad ddisgyn i'r bedd mewn tristwch.
31it will happen, when he sees that the boy is no more, that he will die. Your servants will bring down the gray hairs of your servant, our father, with sorrow to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. .
32 Oherwydd aeth dy was yn feichiau am y bachgen i'm tad, gan ddweud, 'Os na ddychwelaf ef atat byddaf yn euog am byth yng ngolwg fy nhad.'
32For your servant became collateral for the boy to my father, saying, ‘If I don’t bring him to you, then I will bear the blame to my father forever.’
33 Yn awr felly, gad i'th was aros yn gaethwas i'm harglwydd yn lle'r bachgen; a gad iddo ef fynd gyda'i frodyr.
33Now therefore, please let your servant stay instead of the boy, a bondservant to my lord; and let the boy go up with his brothers.
34 Oherwydd sut y gallaf fynd yn l at fy nhad heb y bachgen? Nid wyf am weld loes fy nhad."
34For how will I go up to my father, if the boy isn’t with me?—lest I see the evil that will come on my father.”
